This place has ambiance but it missing some of the basics that would warrant a higher review. Made a reservation for a Saturday night- which I would highly recommend doing if you're going to go. We were seated at an amazing table overlooking the river. Our server was friendly though there were a bunch of servers who stopped by our table overlooking the course of the night. All were pleasant, though our server asked us if we were there for a special event when we sat and we said no, then at the end of them meal he though it was my husband's birthday, but not in a "here a drink on the house" kind of way, just an awkward comment. I got the bone in pork chop which came on a serving shaved Brussel sprouts. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and very tender. Our server recommended we get a side, so we tried the truffle Mac and cheese, it was fine but not great-it was not all that cheesy though we could taste the truffle. I wouldn't recommend it. My husband's risotto with filet and mushrooms only had the scantest amount of filet and mushrooms though was very flavorful. When it arrived at our table it had sloshed all over the serving dish and the server said she was going to fix it it just went to the servers station (2 feet from us) and then came back a minute later-I'm not sure what exactly that fixed but the presentation certainly was not that of a dish that costs $50! I had the smoked Sazerac for my drink. It was nice and the cherry smoke imparted a great flavor though it's not supposed to be served with an ice cube. Additionally, the ice cube within was not clear or perfectly cubed. For a $22 cocktail, this was a miss in my book. I had the crème brûlée for dessert and they strangely put very wet strawberries on the brûlée. I only got a very small space that I could attempt to crack the brûlée. It tasted delicious, though the strawberries really should have been served on the side. Between courses, a bear walked up the river which was an exciting development. This restaurant is beautiful and perfectly situated on a scenic river.

Wonderful experience last night. Jack was our server and he made our evening special. We got: -blackberry bourbon smash (we were difficult and asked for it with blueberries instead and they were able to do it!! The boy loved it) -Mattie's fresh white linen (like a green juice at the spa) -focaccia bread (just a tad undercooked but still delicious) -wild boar croquettes (surprised me, these were great) -8 oz filet (cooked perfectly medium rare with rosemary garlic butter -roasted carrots -baby broccoli (fantastic, wish I had more room in my stomach to finish) -pecan pie (not pictured) with the ice cream If you're a party for two, request a seat near the window! It's magical.

Very cool atmosphere! This restaurant sits right on the river and you can sit outside under a covered patio or inside and still have great views. The service was exceptional. This place has such an amazing cocktail game! The food was wonderful. We had a great appetizer that was burrata cheese with Tennessee chow chow and an olive tapenade. The vegetarian cauliflower steak had great flavor and the venison loin was cooked to perfection.

My husband and I had gone to another establishment in the area, and we had a horrible experience. So, I left there without eating a bite of my food. Appetite was suppressed, but I still wanted a little something. I checked out this place online, and it peaked my interest. I was particularly drawn to the frog leg appetizer on there menu, because I like frog legs in general. My husband had forced himself to eat his meal at the other place, so he wasn't hungry at all. But, he was willing to give me the opportunity to try what I had my heart set on. Once we entered the Heirloom Room, we were greeted by the friendliest bartender. No seats were available at this time, due to us not making a reservation. It's a pretty small restaurant, so reservations are recommended. We were fortunate to get two seats at the bar. I ordered the frog legs, and the bartender confirmed this was a good choice. I informed her of what happened at the other place, and she was determined to make my experience here wonderful. She offered their housemade rosemary & garlic Focaccia bread, which was delectable. This held me over, until my frog legs arrived. There were five of them, and the presentation was quite pleasing. They tasted absolutely fabulous! If you like frog legs, you have to order these. You'll be so happy you did! The frog legs come with onion rings too. Makes a great combination! This place was so comforting, in more ways than one. I can't wait to go back when we do have a reservation for dinner. By the looks of other people's entrées, I know everything on the menu is going to be delicious. It's one of those restaurants where you can't go wrong with what you order. The bartender even pointed out that she totally respects the chef because he takes such pride in the food he prepares for their customers.

Delicious venison...takes skill to make it this well. My son had a great hanger steak. Loved my blackberry bourbon smash cocktail. Sides were great (creamed spinach, etc) and the multicolored fingerling potatoes yummy. Friendly server. Lovely atmosphere sitting by the stream. Go there!

Made a last minute reservation here and thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Very nice and chill while also elevated! Definitely loved the fact that the restaurant sits creek side! The Heirloom Room had such an unexplainable cozy feel! We ordered Frog Legs, Salmon, and Shrimp & Grits! The complimentary Rosemary Foccacia was enjoyable as we waited for our food! Our food took about 20 minutes once we ordered and everything was amazing! The Salmon was cooked to perfection and Shrimp & Grits were delicious! The Frog Legs had a nice smoked flavor; served with house made ranch style dip and onion rings. Very good! Happy we got to try this place and am looking forward to our next visit!

The food service and ambiance were amazing. The atmosphere was top notch. We'd return if we were in the area again!

I took my husband here for his birthday dinner while we were visiting from Texas. We started with the wild mushroom bisque and the wild boar appetizer--both were absolutely amazing. I had never tried wild boar before, and it exceeded my expectations. For our main courses, my husband ordered the venison plate, and I chose the chicken entrée. We also shared brussels sprouts and mac & cheese. My husband really enjoyed his meal, and we both loved the mac & cheese. The gnocchi was also impressive. However, I found the chicken a bit underwhelming--it could really use a sauce or something to enhance the flavor. The brussels sprouts were our least favorite part of the meal. Since we were celebrating his birthday, the staff kindly treated us to pecan pie for dessert, which was very good. That said, for the overall cost, I expected a bit more from the experience. The seating was another downside. We were placed outdoors with metal chairs that were quite uncomfortable, which detracted from the experience--especially for taller or plus-size guests. On a positive note, our waitress was fantastic and provided excellent service throughout the evening.

This is an amazing restaurant. They were open for Christmas Day, I went with my family for dinner. Delicious food and the service was stunning, waitress was very sweet and helpful with the food choices. Indeed the food was delicious, well cooked and seasoned. Ambiance was superb, very cozy and family oriented. The 5 star rating is truly deserved. Parking is available throughout the avenue across the street from the restaurant. Thank you so much for your service and a memorable Christmas 2025 with my family... will definitely come back if we make another

The Heirloom Room is definitely not your typical Gatlinburg tourist restaurant. It is a classy establishment that has classy fishing cabin vibes. We had made a reservation for 11 a head of time and had no issues. Honestly there were lots of open tables throughout our meal so you might not need a reservation for a smaller group. They started us out with the most amazing focaccia bread I could eat it all day. I got the house salad. I was worried that the whiskey travelers vinaigrette was going to be too much but it wasn't. The salad was delicious and presented extremely well. I also tried someone's pot pie and it was really good it tasted slightly sweet but overall very good.

As everyone else has stated, the view, ambience and service was on point. However, the food is where they were lacking. Portion sizes were fine, prices weren't too bad (if not ordering steak), but flavor was missing. The only stand out was the Baby Broccoli with mushroom ketchup. They were absolutely delicious. The Vegetable Masala Pot Pie was incredibly disappointing. The filling was watery and bland. The Mushroom Bisque was okay, but also could have used a boost of flavor. The Mac and cheese was dry and lacking flavor as well. Thank goodness the Focaccia bread was delicious and filling. It was a pleasant experience, just not memorable as far as taste.

Good food and service, close to town, view of a stream, and free parking close by at the Gatlinburg River Inn. Pretty much all our food was tasty. Only slight issue was my aged NY strip was on the well done side of medium rather than the rare side but it was still pink in the middle. The baby broccoli, shrimp and grits, and mushroom bisque were super tasty.

    Immaculate bathrooms!

I really enjoyed heirloom room :) the only con I would mention is that there is very little "direct" front parking (like 3-4 spots), the rest of the parking is over the bridge in front of the hotel (it's owned by the same folks who own the restaurant). Makes for about a 3-5 min walk depending on how fast you can go, maybe longer if you're mobility limited. You can also park for pay a little closer at the neighboring hotel. All the aside - the vibes here are really nice! The staff were friendly and attentive and i really enjoyed what I had including a cocktail (the "Mattie's fresh white linen" - my server said it was the most refreshing and it struck me that way!), and the wild mushroom bisque with a side of the vegetable masala pot pie. I wasn't all that hungry and it was the perfect amount of food. Bathrooms were immaculate too. Would definitely come back, this was a lovely more upscale place in Gatlinburg, definitely the "fanciest" I went to over my 3 day stay.

We ordered typical appetizers - Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls. Spring Rolls were too oily, seemed deep re-fried. Chicken Satay came after entrees were served, and beyond surprise, they got us bite size pan seared chicken, which lacked flavors and seasonings. Worst satay we have ever had. All these years, all the thai places serve chicken satay on skewers and with tasty peanut sauce. To our dismay, this chicken satay was pan seared with no taste whatsoever. Our entrees were their specialty basil fried rice and red, green curry. They were ok. But chicken was like boiled chicken just thrown in precooked curries. Lacked the flavors again! Overall I would rate rating of 2 for food. Sharing pictures for reference, they don't do justice with the tasteless food. My 2cents, they should work on their food quality and then price the dishes appropriately.
