Great experience! I decided to just ask the gentleman working there what his favorite menu items were and ordered them. It was one my best decisions/non-decisions. Based on his recommendations I got the Chicken Wrap + bacon, and a Cucumber Juice (Apple, Cucumber, Spinach). The wraps are an egg base, which I was not expecting but liked. The ingredients were fresh and the wrap was overall delicious. Let's talk about the juice though... it was the most amazing juice I've ever had. I would move to Copenhagen for this juice alone. It's odd to say because it's just juice. But Palæo knows juice! Also, It must be said that everything from Palæo is gluten free and dairy free. It's quite rare to be able to have so many options on a menu to choose from. I'd definitely recommend Palæo for folks with allergies, juice lovers, or anyone that just wants some good food.

Located in the Torvehallernr food market this was a nice gem. All the food looked great at this place, but this was exceptional. We had a pulled duck burger. Absolutely delicious. Kudos to the cook who said he ran out if the regular accoutrements we asked him to improvise and that they did. Also, Served with sweet potatoes. This was just one of many specialty items on the menu.

We might have ordered the wrong things for our taste palettes, or maybe we are not used to the paleo diet, but my friend and I weren't impressed. The food was ok, not great. A plus is that it is really heathy and the juices look good. Lots of vegetarian options. There are a lot of options, but it basically cycles the same few ingredients (as the paleo diet is specific) so it doesn't leave you much to choose from.

I have been eating Paleo for 3 years and it's hard to find convenient places while traveling. This cafe makes it easy since EVERYTHING is paleo! I ordered... Sausage and Egg Wrap: 4/5. The ingredients were tasty and I liked the combination of sausage, mushrooms, and sauce. The sausage had a great snap to it. But it was messy to eat and kept falling apart. Americano: 5/5. One of the best I've had in my life! Location: it is inside the food hall which makes it quite chaotic and busy. But there are plenty of tables. There isn't much waiting room and I felt like I was in everyone's way while waiting for my food.

Hot roast duck, red cabbage, pomegranate, fresh orange and all wrapped up (and presented as a 'wrap) in an egg wrap! That stuff is the thing of dreams. Ok it was a bit pricey at around £7 but it waaas goooood. Good luck trying to stop those pesky pomegranate seeds falling out as you eat, and the fresh fruit in there does drip out quite a bit of juice so you are likely to get it all over yourself, but you won't mind after tasting it. This place is in a rather new and purpose built market and you can simply wander from store to store picking what you want to have for your lunch. I just popped across the aisle while I waited for my wrap from heaven and grabbed a pint of a local beer then plonked myself at a table and waited for my name to be called. Didn't have to wait long. Spent the rest of my time there throwing my food down my t-shirt, swigging beer and watching the people go by, wonderful, recommend it to anyone.

My friend visiting from Norway reeeeeally wanted to go to Palæo while she was in Copenhagen. Seems like it almost has some mythical status among foodies in Oslo, since they're all raving about the whole "stone age" diet over there. We were not disappointed. Both of us got wraps. Mine was with honey-marinated chicken, cabbage and cashews and came in a lovely omelet-ish wrap. It tasted very nice and fresh and felt super healthy. It also made me full for quite a while, which is pretty amazing, seeing as I can eat anytime, all the time. Since it was the weekend (who am I kidding, I'd have one any day), I was feeling fancy and got a chocolate milkshake. Also very yummy and surprisingly nice with the wrap. I find it kinda hilarious, though, that they add protein powder to their shakes. Very stone-agey. The tables they had were a little messy when we got there, even though they didn't seem too busy. But the service was quick and cheery. All in all a very nice experience and sure to be repeated!

Kettlebells never struck me as centerpieces, but Paleo uses them everywhere --- in front of the counter, on the picnic tables, any place 30 pounds of iron will fit. We grabbed a carrot-avocado-ginger juice on a swing through the market; I'm not sure I go for the image of a caveman with a juice extractor, but the drink was tasty. The pictures of the food looked good --- but everyone seemed to be getting juice, either the bright orange carrot-based one, or something green. I'll have to try a grain bowl next time. Or maybe just a hunk of wooly mammoth.

To me the best restaurants are the ones that either inspire me to cook similar recipes at home, or are so complex and incredible that I know I could never match their food myself. This one is a mix of both, but with a glance of the menu I had so many ideas for recipes that have become a staple of my everyday diet, for example I now make something similar to their paleo wraps (made of eggs and different types of paleo flours) almost every day. All of their wraps are fantastic and the avocado shakes are great (although I didn't like the one with ginger). It is a little more expensive than I had hoped, but the idea is just so great that I'm happy to pay the premium in the high hopes that this will become a more popular idea for restaurants around the world.

This is a Bolo. I payed 5kr extra (!!!!) for Parmesan cheese.
    Maria B.

I love eating real, natural foods and therefore I like paleo/the cave man way of eating. The prices here are OK - you get some quality food for around 70 kr. The juices are a bit expensive (50 kr) but I guess that's just the prices in Copenhagen. I can recommend the Bolo (69kr) (you probably won't go hungry after that). A wrap (59kr) is also quite nice but I'm still hungry after one of those. Extra cheese for the Bolo is 5kr and that's just a rip-off (and part of the reason that I only gave 3 stars). If you pay 5kr for Parmesan cheese you should get a little more than the small sprinkle of cheese that I got (see picture). The service varies. Today it wasn't very good but it might have been because they were busy.

The restaurant's design is definitely minimalist with simple blank walls and a comfortable mix of fake and real plants. There was no air conditioning but they found a fan to keep us comfortable- we were amazed that more folks in the full restaurant weren't sweating the way we were. Perhaps the locals are more used to the summer heat with no AC than we were. We had the 3-course prefixe meal with my my wife and daughter on the standard menu while I was on the vegetarian track. The website says that Host is the Danish word for harvest, and that their focus is "on the Scandinavian kitchen with lots of surprises." The staff used the word "surprises" explicitly, using it to describe the amuse-bouches and palette-cleansing bites served between the advertised courses. We started with a flight of croquettes with cheese and I think my wife and daughter had something like a smoked fish hash of some sort while by I had a delightful bite of salad on a molded sweet cookie tart shell. The baby bread loaves with a special butter were lovely - how do you innovate butter? Great job. My first veggie entree was fried carrots with horseradish, which was grand. Next I had a barley risotto with amazing brown beech mushrooms on top. Awesome. There was a spot of potato soup in there somewhere and the best bite of the meal was another of the surprises - a pre-dessert mochi-like shell with strawberry powder on the outside and hazelnut ice cream (I think???) on the inside. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was excellent also. Such a great meal. Loved it.

We tried Grød at two locations: the Torvehallerne market and at 7Eleven. The market, I ordered the Oat Porridge which came with apples, roasted almonds and caramel sauce, my mom had the All In! and my dad had the oat waffle. All of us (mostly) left satisfied. My picky father loved his waffle. And I really enjoyed the porridge I had. The oats perfectly cooked, the apples and almonds gave it a nice textural contrast. Plus the caramel, which was more like a dulce de leche added the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. My mom was a bit ambivalent because the All In was too sweet. But to be fair, All In includes all of their toppings. Including chocolate and caramel so her assessment was fair! The Grød at 7Eleven had this wonderful chia pudding, layered with yogurt, natural peanut butter, a berry compote and nuts and I was obsessed. So simple, yet so wholesome. I found a cup at the airport and proceeded to import it back to the States. Overall, it was definitely worth a visit (or 2) to have my mind blown. I ordered the DANISH NATIONAL DISH and FRIED LIVER (I believe they are #19 and #20 on the menu). Interestingly, the server recommended something similar (another pork belly dish) over the national dish; stating it tastes much better and much softer... which I probably should have went with this recommendation since the national dish was TOUGH AS BONES. It wasn't crispy, chewy, or tasty. It was simply inedible. One couldn't even chew or cut through the meat... the side of skin on mini/small potatoes were simply boiled. The beet dish was delicious. The sauce didn't have much flavor (crazy how extra sauce costs 35 DKK more). The VEAL LIVER dish tasted better than the national dish ironically. Gave a tremendous portion. The potatoes were skinned. The gravy had some taste compared to the other sauce from the national dish. Decadent pickled cucumbers which provided a nice palate cleanser. Mushrooms gave a nice chew, a much appreciated and welcomed different texture. ***the bread given was not good at all*** ***it seems that water, even if it's from the sink or obviously bottled by them, costs money in any establishment*** SERVICE: Kind.
