After a week of this, I finally opted to just sit on hold. Turns out they never have a massive queue, the wait is never more than a few minutes. But the staff is an absolute nightmare. Today I spoke with "Hamza" and he talked really quietly unless he was talking over me (which he did the whole time) and refused to make any changes after I explained I have an Auditory Processing Disorder. He then put me on hold to speak to a colleague, left me on hold for nearly 10 minutes then returned to say I needed to send an email. I don't have an email address for them and when I asked why he couldn't schedule me if he's a scheduling operator is because his colleague said they needed my referral first. I told him I have a PPO and don't need one but I can provide contact for the 3 doctors that made the reco I speak to a neurologist if they need. He said his colleague thought I had an HMO - I asked why he would think that and he didn't answer just said he would schedule me. I asked with who and he gave a name I didn't recognize. I asked him to stop, please because it was clear there'd been some miscommunication. He hadn't even taken my insurance so he'd be scheduling blind AND I was calling to get the availability for a specific neurologist at their location. When he again interrupted and reverted to speaking at an inconsistent pace/volume I stated this clearly wasn't working and asked if he could transfer me to someone else. He said yes, put me back on hold, and then rerouted me to the main menu instead. With no other option I re-entered the queue for scheduling operators only to wait my turn and be hung up on. I have since called back at least 5 times, and tried an alternate number for the office I found online. Every time, I wait in the queue, and then when my turn comes, I'm hung up on. I'm sure Hamza thinks he's hilarious but I will be reporting the behavior to my insurance company, and the ADA at bare minimum. I guarantee this behavior is not limited to his phone interactions and if this is how he treats someone with an APD, I cannot imagine how he treats stroke survivors and those with significant cognitive impairment.

I had no problems speaking with him, or seeing him. It's the rest of his staff that I have an issue with. They are not only extremely disorganized, rude, and unknowledgeable, they also take no accountability for their misinformation. I originally called to make a consultation appointment, and they had said that my consultation would be free. Upon entrance, they changed what they said and told me that I would actually have to pay $45. This was annoying, but fine. I told her that I had been told that it would be free, and she said, "Yes, and I misspoke, and I'm sorry about that, but now you need to pay $45." Whatever. Then, after Dr. Miller had said that my procedure would be covered by insurance, she came back and said that no, it would not be covered, even Dr. Miller was pretty sure that it would be. After a little back and forth between them, Dr. Miller told her to look into it, and if it was not covered by my insurance, he would just charge me $25. Two weeks later, I found that *surprise* it *was* covered by my insurance! She was about to charge me x3 the price of something that my insurance ... literally covered .... without checking. Then, I tried to pay my bill online, and the people at the front desk had inputted the incorrect e-mail address, so I could not pay my bill. They tried to say that I gave them the wrong e-mail (but it's my name........ pretty sure I know how to spell my own name?) and were really rude when I spoke to them. So even though I would like to go back and see Dr. Miller, I will not be because this whole process was really annoying and stressful for no reason.

Since this process required letters, filled out forms from the doctor, and verifications of disability and physical limitations, I needed a strong ally inside the doctor's office that would have the patience of a saint to help me address the loads and loads of paperwork and forms to submit -- even before even being considered as a candidate for the position I so desperately needed! Enter: Minerva! She addressed all the potential employers requirements better than I could have hoped!! I just received a decision letter from the employer regarding the role I was interested in fulfilling. I WAS OFFERED THE JOB!!!!! Dr. Omidvar is phenomenal and he is not only brilliant but he is incredibly kind. Being under his care is a blessing. However, when a Nurse Practitioner is who you see between visits I believe it is their job to provide care as he would. Today for an urgent matter I saw one of his nurse practitioner, MD, and that was not at all my experience. This provider could not be more opposite to the way Dr. Omidvar practices. What is even more difficult is the fact that what I was presenting is frightening and it was as if they had one foot out the door before ever walking into the room. They never asked my name. There was no care here but just letters on a page. Never asking for my opinion or offering kindness but rather a list of things at a non stop and rapid pace. No exam until they were walking out the door, stopped and said "Oh, I should probably" at which time did a 90 second exam and noticed something but said we'd discuss it later. 4 minutes tops. This is the first time that I have ever yelped anyone but after a lifetime of amazing health care and sometimes dealing with challenges with care providers this was absolutely unacceptable. With deep regret I feel that I have to seek care elsewhere. A solution would be for Dr. Omidvar to choose N.P.'s that reflect his manner and professionalism. But that is for his future patients. I chose Dr Loomis as my PCP after getting on Medicare coverage. I had no health issues when I first…read moresaw her. After getting my lab results, she incorrectly diagnosed me as "Diabetic" even though it is common practice to have more that 3 high A1C readings before pronouncing that diagnosis. Frankly, she shocked me when she told me I was diabetic. She sent me to see her useless dietician, presumably so she could bill Medicare for these service. I did not authorize the dietician visits, not was I aware that she had to note me as "diabetic" in order for the services to be covered. I had to ask her to delete the diagnosis which I am not sure she ever did. This is not the first time she shocked or scared me. Later, she told me I needed to come in for fluids because my Sodium levels were low. When I rushed down, after cancelling other commitments, she said I did not need fluids after all, to just drink more water. The last straw was when she ordered labs tests that I found out from Quest, were "not medically necessary", and I ended up with a close to $500 bill. I worked with her office staff for 5 months (yes, 5 months!) to get this bill reduced. I never got an answer as to why she ordered 3 tests that were not deemed a medical necessity. One is supposed to sign a waiver when presented with a test or procedure that Medicare may not cover. I was never asked to sign the Medicare waiver. This sounds like malpractice to me. When I called the front office staff they would bounce me from one person to the next, wanting me to give the whole story over and over again. They would put me on hold for 10 or 20 minutes, no problem. The person I was working with, Brianna, was always "busy on another line", or "just stepped out". When I finally did speak with Brianna, she would say that she hadn't gotten around to my issue and to give her another month. She told me that the lab could not send me to collections for a long time. I finally just paid the lab bill to get this resolved and off of my desk. I would not recommend Dr Loomis or her staff or office to anyone looking to have a meaningful relationship with their primary care doctor. If this is how they treat me when I am basically healthy, what kind of care will they give when really needed. Save your time and find a competent, caring doctor.
