I went for a trim and highlights last week. My hair looks good, although It's not entirely what I asked for. The main things I didn't like about this place was the atmosphere. It felt very gossipy, and stylists were talking about their clients' personal lives even after they left. Obviously, there is a stereotype that hair stylists are a confidante and you can tell them your secrets. However, it just felt too strange and pushy for me. My stylist even randomly asked if I was dating anyone, which isn't horrible but it just felt too personal to ask during a haircut. I also felt the price was too high for what was done for me. But that comes with the territory I guess. Overall, I'm happy with my haircut but just a little disappointed with the environment. read more

Had a nail appointment with cathey! Full set French tip. My nails lift so easily! I did tell her and she was very respectful and polite! It has now been 2.5 weeks and they are still super strong!!!! She did an amazing job!! The reason I left 4 instead of 5 is because I like glitter, doesn't matter if it was polish or power and unfortunately she said there was no glitter. :-( I didn't ask and haven't asked if I brought my own of she'd add it. But it was my first time going and I would love love to get another appointment with her or anyone else on the salon! read more

Panache Salon is THE place to get your hair cut in Modesto. All of the stylists are fabulous and the salon has a cozy, intimate feel to it yet it still has a great selection of products (I somehow manage to walk away with 4 or 5 new products every time I get my hair cut). They also have a lot of cute jewelry and a ton of nail polish, too. THE STAR of Panache, in this redhead's opinion, is Danny Gee. He always gives me a great hair cut, even if it's just a trim and no one can blow out my hair like he can. His prices are super reasonable, he works quickly and efficiently, and he is totally hilarious. Whenever I go in he makes sure that I'm 100% satisfied with my hair cut, and is always willing to trim off a little bit more from my bangs if after a day or two post-hair cut I think they're still a bit long. Lauren is an absolute God send. Some psycho hair stylist absolutely RUINED my little sister's hair (NOT at Panache) by dyeing it so blond that she looked like an 80 year old lady, and Lauren was able to squeeze her into her busy schedule to fix it right away! My little sister's hair was so over-processed and dry that, in the wrong hands, it most definitely could and would have just fallen out Tina Turner style. Lauren was very gentle and was able to fix the mess of some other stylist, making my sister's hair almost look like she never went through a hair disaster at all! Michelle is awesome, too. She's given me some really sassy, fun hair styles. read more

I have been here once before, the lady who cut my hair was awesome! I have not been back since they moved down to another suite. I gave them a call to try and set up an appointment for a hair cut. The lady answered the phone as if she was picking up her cell phone with "hello" I thought I was calling a wrong #... she was rude as if though she didn't want to be there! I had asked her for availability and she just said we are booked and we only have mornings available. Horrible customer service when someone is trying to book an appointment. Ciara Richardson was my stylist today & she was Amazing, mind you I have never been there before! She gave me the best shampoo ever, she was giving my head and brain a little massage! My previous haircut was all kinds of messed up and she exceeded my expectations in fixing it for me! if I could! I will definitely be returning! Highly recommended!! I see him when I can- but he is hard to book last minute, and I'm kinda a last minute girl when it comes to hair care. Called for a quote and spoke with someone who said they would get back to me....never got one. My order was obviously not worth their time.

Up until recently, I had been a patron at Panache Salon for over three-years and would utilize the Versa-Spa Sunless Tanning Unit approximately 2-3 times a month. It is $35 - $40 per tan and the tan lasts about five days. Every time I would show up for my appointment, someone would greet me and then say something along the lines of "Shoot, I don't know how to work that machine. Let me figure it out." It was like re-inventing the wheel every time. Although most of the staff was very friendly, it would get frustrating having to wait consistently when this should have been a 5 - 10 minute exchange including the actually procedure. About a year ago, when someone was once again trying to figure out how to work the machine, I was in the room as well and saw exactly how to do it. It's very simply. My nine-year old could do it; quite frankly, my two year old could probably do it. There is nothing complex about it. Subsequently I began setting the machine myself after I paid and the staff appreciated this as they didn't know how to do it and then they could give their full attention to their clients. Just recently, the owner (who I've never seen once in the salon in three years) found out about this and decided to lecture me about programming the machine myself. I was shocked. She kept repeating how the machine was "$40,000.00". She took no responsibility whatsoever for not training her own staff on how to use a simple Versa Tan Machine. In that very second, I knew I would never return to that Salon as the owner clearly didn't know what she was doing nor did she care. For the record, I own a relatively expensive vehicle and I would not dare throw the keys to someone who does not know how to drive. Be accountable for your own actions or lack thereof in this case. read more

So I decide spur of the moment that I want to cut my hair short and get a highlight. I look to yelp for a local salon and find this place so I figure why not. I call at 3pm on a Sat afternoon and am told I can get a 5pm appointment. Kind of late for a salon to be open on a Saturday but I am game. I go and tell the lady what I am looking to do. She listens and "says" no problem. I am skeptical but what the hay its only hair and it will grow back. Not only was she funny and nice but she did an amazing job on my hair. I am THRILLED with my new cut. She was totally reasonably priced. Lanette was fantastic. I highly recommend her. I love Panache, I have been a customer for about five years now. I am a client of Christina's and I have always been happy with my hair. When I moved to Maryland for a year I missed Panache so much; I couln't find a place in Maryland that I liked. When I moved back home I was happy to come back to Panache and even now I moved to Sacramento and I still drive to Modesto for Panache. I love the environment setting, it is very relaxed and all of the staff is very nice. I even got my Mom to come in and now she is also a client of Christina's. I went into pancache salon not knowing what I wanted the stylist named lynette helped me and made me feel comfortable. I normally get overwhelmed and she was so good at communicating I got the hair color and cut I allways wanted. The salon was comfortable and friendly. the girl was verry efficient I didn't wait all day for long thick hair I got a ton of highlights and my hair feels softer than when i went in. I found this place just by surprise. I was on my way grocery shopping and my bangs were driving me CRAZY!! So with no appointment on a Saturday I just popped my head in to see if they were open. Lanette was off the clock and about to go home. She said that she could do it real quick for me. Not knowing that they do not take debit/credit cards and not having my checkbook or cash on me, was kind of embarrassing after the cut was over! I felt so bad and I couldn't just run in the next day to pay because I live in Santa Cruz. She was so nice and understanding. She told me not to worry about it since it was just my bangs. So I took her business card and mailed her a check as soon as I got back home that Monday. I visit Modesto a couple times a month so I have made this my regular place for hair appointments. The price is good and on Saturdays it's very peaceful and relaxing in there. I moved to Ca a couple years ago and Lanette is the first person that I have found who does a nice job on my hair. I actually leave there feeling like I have a fun haircut! I highly recommend her...she knows what she's doing! I was pleasantly surprised about this place :) read more

got a haircut here for the first time. i arrived a few minutes early and was seen right away. overall, my experience was okay. i have very thick hair that is long. i asked the stylist to keep the length the same, but to create more layers and do whatever else she could do to take the weight off the bottom and give my hair more movement. my cut was well done and done for a reasonable price, but not really inspired. read more
