I'm not one to write reviews; however, this salon earned a complete shout out. I have long, thick, naturally curly hair which is difficult to find a hairstylist who understands how to color, cut and style my hair. I often go months and years without getting my hair done because of all the negative experiences I've had. I gave Ritz Hair Design a chance, and I am so happy that I did. As soon as I walked into the salon, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The salon is beautiful, peaceful, classy, clean, and has such a feel like home feeling. The owner, Johnson, and the other stylists are down to earth and genuinely listens to the customer. Johnson was incredibly experienced, confident, knowledgeable, kind, and easy to talk to. This was my hair before coming to this salon. I usually do my own hair and have been able to keep the integrity of my hair as I'm trying to grow it out. I came in and got my hair completely fried off. Not sure how I can do a better job than a professional but this completely devastated my hair and had to cut it all off. Went back in for the manager to look at it and while he agreed it was fried he didn't do much to help at all. I can't not leave a review in case some poor girl gets her hair burned off too! Most hairdressers will just cut/style however you ask and never bother to suggest more flattering cuts. You end up with a great haircut but it doesnt fit your face. BEST. SALON. EVER. I have been coming here for over 2 years and it's worth the drive. (I live in patterson) Honestly, I have made crazy requests, but these hard working stylists never fail to satisfy them. Wow! What a great experience- Johnson, Lucy and Maria were all warm and friendly from the moment I walked in. I had been looking to get a new cut and darker color on my tired hair. Lucky me ....I placed a project on yelp and Johnson replied advising me to give them a call in the morning. I was booked with Maria and she was so wonderful. Honestly this salon makes me ever regret coming in there to get my hair cut. My hair was so long before I went in there and I wanted to get it cut because of maintenance purposes. So I told the guy about the length I wanted it to be cut to and he went shorter and left my hair a complete mess. It was completely uneven and I asked for layers and there were none I called back and told him about it and he said to come back but I was headed to work so I couldn't make it in until a couple days later and when I got there luckily enough a lady was nice enough to fix his mistakes but I'm still left with an uneven hair cut and I can't fix it because I don't want to go shorter. If they can't do a simple cut I wouldn't trust them with anything else. I hate how my hair looks now because of this salon. read more
