We went there at dinner time with the intent of having dinner in their dining room. When we got there, we found a small sign on the entrance door saying closed for dine in service, but open for drive through carry out service. There was no explanation and no indication of whether the dining room will ever again be open. If you want to go there for dine in service, I suggest that you call first. Since it is long past the pandemic, I wonder about this restaurant's future with its dining room closed. The menu for drive through service is substantial, and the restaurant is open for drive through service long hours from early in the morning until late at night. When I saw the sign that said Pancho's would be open 24 hours, I cried with happiness. Just think... 24 hour access to Mexican food. WOW!! The WOW turned to WOE after one visit. Okay... I will grant Pancho's some concessions. It was the first day they were open and they were swamped. Really swamped. I know they have to work out the bugs. I just didn't think there were so many bugs. Since this restaurant is the second one open in the area (the first is in Topeka), I thought they would have things worked out. My order was wrong. I ordered a chimichanga combination plate. I got a chimichanga but paid combination price. The clerk gave me my food but forgot to take my money. I had to remind her I had not paid. Good for her I am honest! Those missteps could be overlooked. The taste of the food, though, could not be overlooked. Worst Mexican food I've ever had. The chimichanga had no seasonings or flavor at all. It wasn't crispy, it was microwave stale and just tasteless. It was so bad I am not sure I can ever eat a chimichanga from any restaurant ever again from anywhere. Perhaps it's my imagination but the food was not friendly to my gastrointestinal system, either. Within 12 hours, the bathroom got really far away. Pancho's was the only variable in my diet. Felt a bit lazy over holiday break & decided to order breakfast burritos from Pancho's. Their breakfast burritos are served all day, yes! I ordered their Crazy Burrito (ham, chorizo, eggs, & potatoes). I was a bit put off at first by the $7 price tag on a breakfast burrito with no sides. Then, I picked them up... HOLY COW! Their breakfast burritos are gigantic! Their size puts Chipotle burritos to shame. My burrito was easily 12 inches long & roughly 3-4 inches in diameter. I ended up only being able to finish half of the burrito & saved the rest for the following day. The burrito reheated nicely. Their mild sauce (green) is pretty tasty. If you're getting it to go, It comes in tiny containers so you'll want to request several. Their hot sauce (red) packs a kick. read more

If I could rate my experience a zero, I would. I literally never review places but am making an exception to warn people to NEVER GO HERE. I waited 45 minutes at a restaurant that looked closed for a pickup order, meaning it should've already been made. I had to call the store 5 times before someone finally picked up and said they'd bring it to the window. I got home only to realize they left out the cheese dip I ordered which is the part I was most excited for. I've been calling for 30 minutes trying to get a refund on the $5 I was charged for this but the person working there took the phone off the receiver instead of picking up, so they just took my money and won't give any way of refunding it. The food is so bad that even though I haven't eaten in 12 hours, I could only stomach a couple bites. Truly the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. The enchiladas are soggy and super salty, the rice is dry and bland, and the tamale is mushy with an odd after taste. I am not a picky person, either! This establishment is literally in the backyard of my brother's residence. So location is convenient and easily accessed. It's open 24/7 as well. Those are the good things. First off, the cashier had no idea what my order was. I ordered a bowl. He was like, "We have bowls?" I pointed to the picture from their menu. Then proceeded to ask his manager about how to enter that into the cash register. His manager looked baffled as well. But after a minute or two, they figured it out. There's a little stall in the middle of the restaurant that had salsa, pico, and some lime wedges. They don't regulate it so you can take what you want. After we went to pick up the food from the counter, we sat and first bite was bland. This is supposed to be Mexican food right? Where's the salt or am I missing something? My Husband ordered fish tacos and he says his plate was also under-seasoned. Nonetheless, we finished the meals. It was ok. I've definitely had better. I have a star for location and another one for opening 24/7 but that's about it. I forgot what type of meat I ordered for my bowl. I should have ordered more food for test but maybe not. When you roast a chile for rellenos, after removing the skin you must also remove the seeds & veins from the interior. It is generally stuffed with a decent quality cheese such as queso Oaxaca, not whatever runny muck this place is using. Hell I'd have been happy with plain old real cheddar. Pico de galllo is made up of fresh tomatoes, cilantro and some chopped onion, not 90% chunky raw onion with a few sprigs of cilantro. Ouch. In spite of the past reviews of this new joint I still came, but truth be known, I was already in line and there was a car behind me when I read them so I couldn't back out and ditch my order. But all said, the "Crazy" breakfast burrito I ordered that had potato, sausage, ham, eggs, etc. was darn fine. No complaints there. Restaurant love is a slippery slope. There are some things I don't care about here. Hand lettered sign stating the dining room is not open but it's so small you really have to be right next to it or walk up to the door to attempt to enter. I did the latter. The entrance sign on 23rd has been graffiti'd for some time now, as in weeks. A big deal? Not particularly, but look up and down this strip and tell me who else would leave that in place this long--and over on Iowa? Certainly not a single one of those chicken chains with the soccer moms lined up getting dinner for the fam. I pull up to the window to ask if or when the dining room is going to be open. Awhile, I'm told, they're still hiring and training cooks. Geez, after how many months? Oh, and thanks for that detail. So you have to wonder if they're just over their heads business-wise or what. The problems with most restaurants is not if they can make food, it's navigating the entire business model. When you've moved into an odd space that just failed for a major chain, I'd think you'd want your collection guano together. Drive-ins have their fans, and if they're going to make it here, they're going to have to be on their "A" game. It appears that's not the case here. I was really excited to find something that wasn't "fast food" at 11:30 on a Thursday night. It smelled amazing and even looked pretty appetizing for drive thru Mexican. I got the fajita mix and the country fries. The fries are pretty good actually BUT let me tell you about the fajita mix. I popped open the styrofoam container and saw an awesome ratio of onions and green peppers to meat... My soul left my body on the first bite. The green peppers were jalapeños. I thought I was hardy because spicy shin ramen doesn't bother me, but apparently not because I suffered death by jalapeño. read more

Called on a Sunday evening to place a carry out order, they did not answer for a very long time and then put me on hold as soon as they finally picked up. Trying to order was an absolute nightmare, I was under the impression that the gentleman who answered did not speak any English and could navigate their own menu, and it took well over five minutes of dialogue to complete a very simple order. When I got there, the order that I had made on the phone was not even acknowledged and I had to start all over again at the register with similar levels of difficulty, which was especially frustrating given that both the drive thru and in-store were both completely empty of customers. It was much more expensive than what you would expect as reasonable given the lower quality of the food, and on top of that when I was handed my receipt I was charged more than the total that was stated to me (including tax obviously) for reasons that were at no point made clear to me. Finally, when I got home to eat the meal I found it very difficult to get through. For a 24 hour Mexican restaurant the expectations can't be super high, but this well undershot what I had expected. I had not eaten almost anything at all that day but still could not force myself through the meal despite my large appetite at the time. And even so, for the food that I did eat, made me feel considerably sick relatively quickly after consuming it. I'm hoping it was just a bad day for them and their operations aren't always so tragically bad, but I know for a fact I will never consider eating there ever again. read more

This is a solid Mexican spot that gets your food to you in a short time. A couple times a month I get street tacos and a grilled chicken burrito. They are always hot and good. The prices are very fair as well. This is way better than Taco Bell and as good as most sit down Mexican food. read more

When I was given the wrong order, the employee working told me that what I received WAS my order and fought with me for 10 minutes.
