Pancho Villas is my favorite place to order Mexican takeout in Salisbury. I love getting the Fajita Style Quesadilla filled with grilled steak. It comes with a side of rice and a salad that has a generous sized topping of sour cream and guacamole. I am addicted to Pancho Villas' iced tea, and they give you an extra large cup when you order take out which makes me very happy! The restaurant is moderately priced and doesn't break the bank. Used to eat here at least once a week but gave it a break for awhile. Tonight we decided to go back and that will be our last visit! Service was awful. We would ask the waiter for this or that and he bring one thing forget the other. Example: Asked for more salsa and chips he brings salsa and no chips. No drink refills not once. So we asked for 2 boxes to go and 2 containers for the cheese dip remainder and the remaining pico and salsa. He brings one box and a very small container with a cup and lid. I asked for another cup and lid to put the salsa and pico in. I then asked for a coke to go as I didn't care for the Mello Yellow. He got an attitude like it was an issue to change the drink. He brings everything but the drink back. I asked again for the drink. Mind you we have 2 cups, and one box and then a drink when I get and he brings no bag. He did bring a bag of chips back to us and I thought well that is good cuz we have left over pico/salsa and cheese dip. We waited and waited for the check. My husband and to ask for a to go and the check. I review the check to find a charge for $1.00 for the bag of chips and a charge for the container. I took the bag of chips to the check out and advised I was not paying for those since I didn't ask for them and then asked about the container charge. The lady looked like she was mad becuase I asked. She didn't say anything removed the charges and I left the bag of chips on the counter. Customer service would have been go ahead a take the chips but they probably put them back in the warmer and yep I had taken out a few chips but what if I had spit in them or something just saying. $50+ for Fajitas for 2 a large cheese dip and a large pico and 2 drinks little pricey and wasn't that great. Cheese dip was watery. Fajitas had too many green pepper and not enough onion. Due to the charges that were added to the bill without being told ahead of time and the attitudes and poor service we will not be returning. read more

The inside of the restaurant is very spacious but as equally dated. I do not recommend ordering their Tamarindo to drink. Their sweet tea is excellent though. I ordered the Juan Special (chicken, tomato, onions, peppers in a cheese sauce) over rice. The dish is so good, and very filling. I ordered extra Queso blanco to drizzle. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Even though this place has a lot of "misses", i will definitely keep going for this dish alone. read more

In the past this was a great restaurant. I don't know what has recently changed but there is a great difficulty in getting orders correct. Food is greasy and margaritas are weakened. Even difficulty getting credit card to go through their machine. Weekly visits here will be curtailed for a while. A shame that service and quality have gone down. read more

This place used to be my favorite bc it was very good. Tonight was my first time at the new location. Things have gone severely down hill!!! The cheese dip is liquid w a few lumps of cheese. The chips and salsa are excellent but I got one chip at the bottom of the pile I had to spit out if tasted so old. The carne asada tacos were ok but I kept tasting something I didn't like. Now let's get to the good stuff Margaritas!! I first ordered the special.. $1.25 how could you go wrong? Excellent! So since I usually like the Texas Margaritas (top shelf, more alcohol) I decided I'd order one of those. Bad mistake!! I couldn't believe what color it was! Teal! I wish I would have taken a pic! Absolutely delicious. I had the chimichanga lunch and the Carmel churros. The first thing I always do while eating somewhere new is see how their complementary bread/chips taste. I feel it gives me a good feel as to how my over all experience will be. I can say that the chips were thin and crispy and the salsa was spicy and flavorful. It's a small place but it's clean and the atmosphere is laid back. The chimichanga was flavorful and filling and the churros were the best I have had. Pancho's is everything less..... the place is less clean the service is less and the portions are less . I don't know about you but, there is something about a restaurant when you go to the bathroom there is a distinct urine smell that makes it a turn off for me.Makes me wonder about the kitchen. The only reason why people go here and get less is because, I guess they do not know that about a mile up the road their is a Mexican restaurant that makes Poncho's well LESS much less without the urine! Yes they actually have clean bathrooms ! ( Casa Grande) Some people I guess go to a place for a while and they are like horses running with blinders on see nothing but, what is in front of them urine and all...Health Department where are you when we need you? Pancho, Pancho, Pancho....When I first moved to Salisbury, my boyfriend and I wanted to find a place to eat great Mexican food that was close, convenient, and good. We were sadly disappointed with Pancho Villa. The place needs an update for sure. The service was asi-asi (OK in English)..I remember a fly bothering me throughout my meal...ordering guacamole and receiving some green mush which may have had been an avocado at one point in time...and the food...it was just okay. If I think of Mexican food then this is the place where I want to go in Salisbury. The place is big, and very attractive inside. It's conveniently located off of highway 85. They have a big menu. It's sometimes difficult to decide what you would want after looking at their menu. I had several meals here in the last 6 months or so. I go for lunches and dinners atleast 3 times in a month. They have great selections so I know I will find something or other that is good and very good. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. They love chatting with Customers. And I love chatting with them. I like my chip with Verde sauce. They know it! I went here many times, solo and with friends. My friends also like this place. They are all happily surprised to see this place and eat food here. I feel I can't go wrong if I take my friends here for a meal. The meal is of really good portion. I ate many dishes on the menu. So I can't tell, one thing is better than other. I felt whatever items I had, they were all good. Definitely, the dinner portions felt that they are bigger than the lunch portion. And I love bringing the leftover home for next day lunch. ;-) They are all delicious. This place is the value for your money, and more. Definitely, I see myself eating here more often in the future. Pancho Villa, was a killer, a bandit, and a revolutionary leader, yet many remember him as a folk hero. He was the Robin Hood of Mexico. So much for the history lesson, but the restaurant that uses his moniker is appropriate. It's not all good, or all bad. If you're looking for a raucous good time you might just fit in. On the night we stopped in it sounded like karaoke night in the other room and they were having fun. We were there for meet up and a light bite. I had a couple of chicken tacos and sweet tea. I thought I ordered them medium, but they came out plain. We didn't have much time, we planned on a movie later that night, so I didn't investigate further. Later that night my niece became nauseous and I suspect? Well if your going out for a drink and some fun it sounds like a place to let your hair down. I think I'll skip any meals. read more

I eat at Pancho Villas at least once a week. It is my favorite restaurant for affordable, family dining. A few of our favorites are the Don Juan special, ACP, fajitas for two and mixed grill. Don't judge the book by its cover, is what I would say the tip of the day on this restaurant happens to be! It may not be fancy, but if you are looking for fancy, be prepared to pay for that...this is a humble restaurant that serves good food, for a fair price. They have an extensive menu (pages, we are talking a book here!) Along with lunch menu, Children's menu, sides, full bar and more. Pretty much whatever you want. They will take care of you. I've been coming here for the last year, service is awful, hardly put any meat in tacos, only reason I come is for taco Tuesday for $1 tacos. You can get 5x the meat in a taco somewhere else for a regular taco price. Have done several call ins they always say 15 min, sat there tonight for 1 hour 30 min. Just awful service. I've been to this place several times before the pandemic; however, it has definitely gone down hill in my book! I went in with others, we were assured that there was spacing between table seatings according to CDC guidelines, before being seated. THEN, before we knew it, they placed customers on either side of us due to all the available spaced seating being filled. C'mon...they didn't even ask if we minded first. I could, and practically did, visit you everyday for lunch, and I always experienced superior service from Sr. Santiago and his family. Awful service. Dirty. Menu is too large with the "picture menu" in the back showing items with no description or price, just pictures. So hot in the restaurant I was sweating the entire time and my glass of water was pouring sweat across the table and dripping into my lap while I was making every attempt to enjoy my meal. They have a cheap split unit (never meant to cool/heat an area that large in the first place) that was broken and loudly clicking incessantly on the wall. The food itself was actually decent which is the sole reason they aren't getting 1 star but they were stingy with their amount. Ordered fajitas Texanas and the skillet wasn't even covered lightly with food, only had maybe 4 shrimp mixed in as well. I love Mexican food, any type, and we eat it at least once a week. I was looking for "my spot" but unfortunately this place is not it and I'll have to move on to the next. Looking forward to trying a new place though so there's that! read more

My family and I have been going here for years and have become very close with the owner. Nothing but spectacular customer service and good food. We normally never have issues with our orders but if for any reason we do, Juan will fox it no questions asked. The new restaurant is very nice! It's clean and much bigger than the old building. I have been here once...will I return??? NOPE! I got a taco salad, a thing that most people CANT mess up - I mean its lettuce, tomato, cheese, some sort of meat and assorted condiments. Well, mine was gross! The lettuce was not crisp, in fact it was very wilted and there were some pieces with brown - not many though. We travel to Salisbury once a year around Thanksgiving to visit the family. I was disappointed this year to see my favorite Mexican restaurant there had closed down, and was forced to try Pancho Villa's to get my Mexican fix. The outside is not much to speak of and isn't very welcoming but we were seated immediately and there was only one or two other tables that had people at them. The staff was friendly enough, nothing over the top or amazing. The food was served quickly, but what a disappointment. =( The food was "blah" ... there was little flavor, none of it had the Mexican spice and heat that we were craving. We ordered nachos as an appetizer ......... they came out as chips covered in a filmy cheese sauce ...... and were soggy. The food overall was sub-par, definitely not a place I'd recommend for people who are looking for authentic Mexican taste and environment, and I would not return there. A few years ago at its old location on Innes St. it was good, but the food has gone down to just so-so. Now the "new" place looks and feels dumpy, and the wait staff (a waitress that disappears for LONG stretches of time, and what I assume is the couple that owns the place) is basically terrible. I take that back. The woman that I believe to be one of the owners is nice, and if she is taking care of your table you stand a chance of getting your food in a reasonable amount of time. Anyone else... well, you're on your own. If the food was great it might be worth waiting for ... but for food that is only OK and stands a good chance of being served cold ... don't bother! read more
