I had a bad experience with Pancho. I wanted to take my vintage BMW to get the driver seat upholstery redone. I scheduled 3 weeks in advance. Pancho said he would need the car for a day. The following day I didn't hear anything, so I went by and the car was exactly where I had left it across from the store front in an empty dirt lot. I went in and spoke to Pancho,but did not appear that he had any plans on starting the project. When I confronted him he told me he could start working on it the following week. When I told him that I had made an appointment and that he told me it would take a day, and that I was uncomfortable with the car sitting in a dirt lot he became defensive, then proceeded to tell me that his personal car was worth more than mine and told me to take the car back as he was no longer interested in doing the job. I can't think of worse customer service than this, and obviously won't recommend this business. read more

Overall, I had a pretty easy experience with Pancho's. I sent emails of my damaged sofa and asked for a quote and repair time. I received prompt responses from Lety, which was appreciated, and told it would take about a week and that I could drop off my sofa any time during business hours. I dropped off my sofa, and at the time, Pancho was not there, so I left it with whoever was overlooking the shop. 11 days later, Lety emailed me to let me know my sofa was finished, and I also received a call from Pancho. I went to go pick it up a couple days later. Pancho was very friendly, and he charged me exactly what I'd been quoted. He let me know that they noticed some tears in the fabric underneath where the cushions go, so they went ahead and fixed that too. I thought it was great that they fixed a part of my sofa that I hadn't even asked for! Completely complimentary. After I got home, I inspected my sofa a little closer. It's clear that the material they used to replace my damaged side was a slightly different color and fabric than my original sofa. It's not as soft, and it had a different texture. The fabric they used as a replacement did have a subtle stain on it, and you can see that the fabric around the arm of the sofa wasn't fitted snuggling like it was before. So, while the process of coordinating and communicating with Pancho's was easy and they did do some complimentary repairs, the quality of the job I asked for was ok. Luckily, it was just a small side of my sofa that just needed to be repaired and not a large hugely visible section. read more

Pancho's Upholstery shop is located in a sketchy part of town and the building is not the most impressive. Don't let that stop you from using their services though, as they do a solid job at reupholstery and reconditioning car seats, home furniture, and probably any kind of item that has fabric. Pancho and Lety are very accommodating and friendly. They were able to pick out a fabric that best matched my leather couch using vinyl (a much cheaper altnetative). Cost of upholstery was $150, cost of fabric was $35. He was done in 3 days. He made me feel very comfortable about leaving my furniture in his hands. It was only during pick up that I decided to drop some stars on this rating. The man at the counter didn't seem to know where my invoice or couch was. He was also very short with my boyfriend. Further, I was upset to find that they store your finished items in a back unpaved lot exposed to the elements, especially because it has been raining often these past few weeks. Overall the quality of the work was great. It didn't match exactly but certainly good enough for a common observer not to see the difference. I talked to Poncho over a month ago to help me re upholster a wheelchair seat for me. Told him exactly what I needed and sent him pictures to make sure he could do it. No problem he said. Dropped off seat and then waited around a month to get fixed and then he completely screwed it up doing exactly what I told him not to do. He comes out to the car and says here and that he couldn't do the right way. ASSHOLE. If he couldn't do it he just could have said it but instead he wasted my time and was going to way over charge me for the job if he actually did It correctly. NOT A FRIEND OF THE DISABLED.. You get what you pay for. I spent a couple bucks more than I expected, but when I got the seats back I was blown away. I came in with wire frames out of a 65 Falcon that I had (crudely) welded back into shape. No padding, no insulation, no nothing. I got them back 4 weeks later looking better than anything Henry Ford ever sent out of Dearborn. With zero template to work with, the padding and covers were fabbed up from scratch. Stitching was perfectly clean and straight and the fabric was flawless. They clicked in perfectly and look better than anything else on the old beater. It's forced me to up my game and I'm not being funny when I say they probably doubled the value of the car! Spend the money with local custom shops like this. They're run by car lovers for car lovers. We have a 29 Model A seat in need of recovering soon and we're not even looking anywhere else, it's going to Pancho's without a doubt. Due to the mess up from S&S Motorsports and the tear in the old seat, we called this place and brought the seat to them. A hefty price for their workmanship, but it is because they stitch material and don't just stretch it over the seat and staple it like the old way it was done. B/f wanted a one seater like a bullet and was mad they charged an extra $50 for a slanted piece of foam under the stitching but it still gives him lower back support. The total cost was $250 and was done within a week. It was done in red instead of black and looks like it will last without cracking, fading or ripping for many years. read more

I've been there twice trying to get a quote for a chair. The first time I was there, I talk to a lady who wasn't very nice she took my info and had me send some picture. She then sent me on my way and never heard from her again. I then I went again to fallow up since she never contacted me. I talk to a guy that was very rude and kept rolling his eye at me while I was talking to him, he didn't even play it off. I felt like I was a total waist of his time. It was like if he couldn't wait for me to get to the point, it made me even talk faster. The owner pancho got my txt and never answered just felt me on read!!! I went to Ponchos upholstery shop at 2910 N. Stone Ave, Tucson AZ the other day and set up an appointment for my drivers side seat to be repaired. I took the car in this morning 12/23/20 and Poncho did a fantastic job!!! He had my car repaired in 3 hours. I could not believe how beautiful it turned out. You would never know it was so ripped. What a bad experience coming to this place. I brought in my leather driver's seat that had a small tear in a side piece of leather, and Poncho told me he could replace the piece with matching leather. This seat is dark black leather that is otherwise in good condition. When I went to pick up the finished product a few days later, he had replaced the torn piece with blue leather, which was very clearly different from the rest of the seat. When I pointed this out, Poncho and his wife insisted that the new piece was indistinguishable from the rest of the seat, which was ridiculous if not insulting. I reluctantly brought the seat home and showed it to a bunch of friends and family. Everybody was in complete agreement that the replacement piece was blue, not black like the rest of the seat; it clearly stood out. I brought the seat back to Poncho, and he kindly agreed to redo the blue piece with a black piece that matched. It took him almost three weeks to do this. I called to check on progress every 3-4 days and he always said "just a few more days." I finally decided to go pick up the seat regardless of whether it was complete. When I got there, the seat was sitting outside in front of his shop in the sun. This is black leather sitting in direct Arizona sunlight; why would he do that? He apparently had finished the seat a few days earlier, but hadn't called to inform me. The new replacement piece was also clearly different from the rest of the seat. It was a lighter, softer black made of thin, cheap-looking fake leather. I just took my seat and left in disappointment. Altogether, he had my seat for 3 1/2 weeks, during which I could not use my car. And in the end, the replacement piece neither matches nor looks good. I will now have to take it somewhere else to be redone properly. What a bad experience overall. He is very friendly, but this is slow, poor quality service with a smile. read more

Nice guys but would not use again. I had Pancho's replace a convertible window which comes in its own fabric frame. Pancho's installed this window and frame a 1/2" off center which makes the sides look an inch different from each other. I showed Pancho the problem on pick-up and scheduled to return the car to fix. The "fix" was to stretch the left side of the convertible top a 1/2" over and pull back the right side a 1/2" and screwed it down. It just looked shoddy and uneven. They even put glue on the sides of the window as if to try to get the convertible top to stay in this position. It did not stay stuck. (Pancho's also repaired a couple of interior items included in window install charge. Some clean up was required but that was nice of them.) Given that trying to cover up poor work was Pancho's fix for when they could have fixed it right, I did not expect any further arguing was going to bring me satisfaction. I took the car to another shop and had the convertible window installed properly (centered) . The new shop reported that the previous window frame was cut out and Pancho's left remnants attached which the new shop also cleaned up. Now I just need to get the glue off the window. Anyhow, never again to Pancho's for me. read more

Pancho repaired and reupholstered the seat in my '71 Mustang. The upholstery is beautifully done and the materials are much better than I imagined. He also repaired the seat frame, which was sheered in 4 spots; he welded everything back together and it's better than new - couldn't be happier with a job well done. Pancho installed new leather covers in my 2007 Corvette. They have black trim and cashmere in the center. The workmanship was excellent and the time and care they put into the job exceeded my expectations. Pancho prices his work at a reasonable rate and uses the best materials. I highly recommend him. One of the worst experiences imaginable. I took a car in to have work done, after 3 months,I was able to get a refund (only after threat of court lawsuit). My parts were ordered after 1/2 $ down, or so I was told.I played phone tag for the next few weeks checking to see if my supplies were in, every time a different excuse on why it was not in. Once in, job scheduled and completed. I was presented a "complete"job. I have no expertise but could see clear errors,poor workmanship, mess/filth from work done. My young child asked why it looked so weird. Mistakes were pointed out and Pancho (owner) tried to convince me it was ok. I pointed out it was not what I asked for or paid for. I spent the next 2 months trying to get it replaced/fixed. It was falling apart.I was given numerous excuses (I ordered it, it's on back order, it doesn't exist, it's en route, your car is wrong, I'll call you back, can't find your order...) Just got a motorcycle seat redone. The stock seat was bad. Pancho's redid the seat, added gel, lowered it for more comfort and now it is a great seat. The price was very reasonable compared to a replacement seat by one of the big suppliers. Highly recommend his work and service. read more
