It's aight for east Hawaii. Typical options; lengua (cow tongue) pollo (chicken) carne asada (flap meat), chile verde (green pork). Wish they would do REAL carnitas tho (copper kettle, slow fried/braised, w/ cola, piloncillo, oranges, milk, etc) My only gripe is their seviche. It's sHrimp CHOPPED up. SMALL. And I swear theres strands of fish? imitation crab in it? I'm sure of it. It's nasty. I'd pass on that. Sadly there's not too many spots that sell seviche? Which is strange considering we're sitting in the middle of the pacific. And they're stingy w/ their limes and salsa. Like come on, onions, radish, cukes, cilantro, limes, etc are FREEBIES at any good taco truck. But if you're craving a slice of street tacos they'll fill the void. I rarely crave Mexican food, and when I go out to pay for it, I am rarely impressed. WOW. Pancho's nailed it. Rainy day in Hilo, I saw the truck--I almost never get the chance to stop. I got the green sauce enchilada plate. Hubby got the burrito. Only $22 for these massive meals, served in minutes. We've never been so happy with food truck food, or with a meal in general in Hilo. The best burrito I've had on the big island. My sister got the carnitas tacos, my bf got the carnitas quesadilla and I got the carnitas burrito. The food came out very quickly and everything is reasonably priced. I've read a review about how the portions were small, but my bf who is 6'5 230lbs got full from his order for lunch so do with that what you lol. Aloha! Being a SoCal native transplant to Pahoa I have enjoyed truly good Mexican food all of my life. The taquerias in SoCal are fresh, flavorful and consistent with family traditional recipes. Not over salted either. Poncho's Taco's is all this and reasonably priced too. I am so thankful that we found these people. I knew they had potential when I saw the Tapatio on the tables. I have to say I was very surprised when I ordered my food. I have to admit I can be a snob about Mexican food. My whole adult life I've worked with Mexicans and eaten their food. I come from NYC and most of my friend and my partner is Mexican so I know the food and this food from Poncho was very good. The Tacos were spot on. The Flautas not so much for some reason instead of being thin and deep fried crispy this was like a chimichanga big and thick, it tasted good but not what I was expecting and not a flautas. Lunch with these guys after church service. Line is long, but worth the wait. The first time we ate from these guys, my husband had their burritos and I ate vegetarian enchiladas. Today he ate their 10 tacos some with pork and some with chicken, because they ran out of beef and he said he actually choose tacos over burritos. And he's a burrito kind of guy. Although my friends have great cooking, this young family of 10 serves up the best Mexican food on this island. Not just in the Puna district not just the east side but the whole island. Incredible Al Pastor, Carne Asada and Carnitas. Classic street taco style. Go for the 5 pack and mix up the choices. You will be amazed. I have been gone for over a month and I am going to hit them up Sunday in Nanawale at the center. Oh, their Pico de Gallo and various sauces, yum yum! Finally tried this Taco truck in Pahoa today. Appreciated the various options. We ordered a pollo torta , chili verde burrito ( both drowned) and barbacoa nachos. The 3 choices came to just under $25. The order was completed very quickly, under 5 mins. The food quality was good, presentation nice, all 3 meat choices very tender and flavorful. Would order torta again but not wet style, just too wet to pick up, my error but tasty. Pork verde burrito very enjoyable but on both entree orders getting a container that's half empty makes one feel a bit jilted. At $10 bucks thought should include a little side of some kind. I would suggest a smaller vessel saving on packaging costs OR keep container size and add a few chips, pico or slaw especially for the $10 items. Nachos had slightly smokey barbacoa meat, delicious...only issue needed more chips. Toppings all really good, but maybe offer a little side of plain chips for a dollar as added option. Can't wait to try the beef tongue and chili relleno. We'll be back, tasty food, decent portions and fair prices. read more

I eat 10 tacos every Sunday now. They're ALL delicious but my favorite is the Al Pastor. They even have Lengua which is a solid sign that you're dealing with authentic Mexican food.
