The most impressive thing about this restaurant is how cozy and welcoming it is! It's clean and conveniently located, making it the perfect place to enjoy dinner after hiking around the volcano. The menu offers a great variety of options, the service is excellent, and you definitely shouldn't miss their delicious coffee. Highly recommended!

We came here after hiking around the volcano, it's a really short drive from the national park. Service was great and friendly. The food came out pretty quickly, I got the kahlua tacos and I am obsessed. I absolutely loved them. They were out of guava cheesecake but we tried the macadamia nut cheesecake and it was very tasty. This is a good lunch spot, highly recommend!

Went to dinner here to try this place out. I side decorations were really cool but unfortunately the food was just average. Their burgers were ok but the local type food were not great. I would only recommend this place if you're in a pinch.

Wow! Come here! The macadamia mahi was amazing! The mashed potatoes were off the charts. Order a cheesecake! The service is exceptional. This place has been around for a while for a reason. Charming local vibe.

Food: Kalua pork plate: good flavored meat and really enjoyed the coleslaw; ABC burger: good beef, fresh ingredients and really liked the fries; club sandwich: just ok - did not like the wheat bread and usually comes w lettuce Service was very good and food came out fast. Restaurant was in a good location, easy to find and plenty of parking. We were very hungry after visiting the volcano so this place worked out great.

Food 5/5: honestly wow lol Loco moco was Very delicious, juicy fresh meat, and my husband loved his fish sandwich. Not sure why the rating is so low but we def enjoyed them more than other restaurants. Service 5/5: super friendly and well deserved rating for them! Ambiance 5/5: looked like a cabin turned into a restaurant. Highly recommend!

This is a nice and convenient place to stop for lunch when visiting Mauna Loa Volcano. The service is friendly and efficient, with plenty of seating available (restrooms are conveniently located just outside). There are a wide variety of options on the menu, from burgers, tacos, fish & chips, plate lunches, loco moco, chicken Katsu, Kalua, and more. I got the Kalua lunch plate with fries and potato/mac salad. The pork was tender and very flavorful, the fries were crispy, fresh, and tasty, and the potato mac salad was quite good.

We had a great dinner there in January. I had a ramen soup and I think my husband had a burger. The staff were very welcoming!

    Potato mac salad?

It was actually quite good. Like you I usually prefer potato salad on its own or mac salad on its own. They made it work IMO.

Their standards are good and they also have a barrel program which has some room for improvement, but is coming along. Where else can you find a barleywine in Hawaii. They also make their own ginger beer and their Dark and Stormy was delicious. My favorite beers were the barleywine and the tripel. I tasted 8 total. The tasting room is well appointed. I appreciate a comfy bar stool. The bathroom was nice and clean. They also have food trucks or food daily. This day they had Uncle Bob's smoked ribs, with truffle mac and cheese, and a cornbread muffin. Probably the best ribs I have ever had. They were seasoned so well I didn't even need sauce. Next time you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. They also have a crowler machine for to go.

The table spacing and soundproofing on the walls allowed for a pleasant environment and the beer was great. We tried almost all of them via 2 flights and were very pleased. The poke and pretzels were stupid good and there's a wing guy out back that brings your order in when it's ready. Very clean and functional given the limited size but they had a lounge open upstairs for overflow. The staff was so lovely and very warm, making a little time for each table so it felt more like a social occasion rather than a transactional one. Definitely looking forward to going back!

Ravenous and throat parched, the pictures for The Temple drew us in. Restaurant was empty save a family of 6 sitting in the corner. To summarize the experience the food tasted as delicious as it looked. Service was spot on. Skip the barbecue chicken tacos they were overrated. Our server warned against it but we were feeling chicken. It was a mid dish. The star of the show was the Calabrese Flatbread. It was phenomenal. Really tasty, ample cheese, marinara sauce, with large chunks of sausage that were so flavorful. The potatoes we got were supposed to be island potatoes and tasted okay with lots of Chimmichuri Sauce. Ask for more on the side to dip the potatoes in. Kona beer on tap, Michelob in bottles, and some nice house drinks to round it off. Their dessert selection looked tasty, but so full that stomach was hurting after the meal. Will be back again if I'm in the area!
