Panda is great Chinese done in a cafeteria style. It's authenticity is iffy so it's rare to see an actual Chinese person. I wish there were more chinese places were the cooks spoke better chinese than a white guy like me. Food is always good, staff is always friendly. read more

Panda Express - Chinese Near Me - Layton, Utah

During Utah's Covid lockdown, most of the restaurants in the state DEPENDED upon us Doordasher's to continue with whatever limited business they could muster up. So did our communities. For those individuals who were in quarantine, we were a "god-send". However, many (and I repeat, MANY) of us "Dashers" would have to wait outside in the (sometimes very cold) April air, and patiently "wait our turn" for our customers' orders to finally get placed OUTSIDE - on a table - during the lunchtime rush.... and then we'd watch the door close, and get locked. If our order wasn't there, we waited until it was - knowing that we were losing OTHER orders as we wait. The drive-thru was still open to the public, as was public "curbside pickup". So, it wasn't just we "doordashers and GrubHub's" that had to stand outside, watching 5 or 10 orders for OTHER people get cold, while unattended. Many of us would discuss how THIS restaurant chain, and PARTICULARLY this individual location was the only restaurant who did that. I don't think it ever occured to a single ONE of us to "steal" orders - we didn't have time to sit and eat! And we weren't ABOUT to lower our rating's and give up a $12.50 order - over a $6.00 lunch. We just waited. And waited. Now, fast forward to today. The state has basically started opening up again, but... at 300+ new Covid cases per day, there's still a LOT of people who need us Doordashers to bring them meals. Today, I (reluctantly) accepted an order for THIS Panda Express. The "new" routine (since opening up the state) is.... NOW, we can actually walk INSIDE to pick up our Dash orders. So, I parked in the handicapped spot (I supplement my disability income with this job), and I walked into the store to pick up the order I was "assigned" to pick up. Imagine my surprise when I was told that "although I had the exact name of the customer - including 1st initial of LAST name. And EVEN THOUGH "Adrianna" had my customer's order READY for pickup.... I had to walk BACK to my car, bring my phone INTO the store, so that this Adrianna person could confirm my "ORDER CONFIRMATION NUMBER". I'm thinking, "What CONFIRMATION number? There IS NO ORDER CONFIRMATION NUMBER!" That was when I was told that BECAUSE us "DOORDASHER'S" usually STEAL other people's orders, and without that non-existant confirmation number.... She wasn't releasing the food. I showed her my phone - Name and pickup date/time EXACTLY matched the order SHE had sitting there getting cold, waiting for pickup! I even asked... "what do YOU suppose the chances are of ME.... randomly walking into THIS particular restaurant (out of all the other 79 restaurants in a 3 mile radius)... ramdomly walking in, right off the street.... and just HAPPEN to know the exact NAME, DATE, LOCATION, right down the ITEM the customer ordered.... if in FACT I wasn't REALLY a Doordasher??? I brought her my phone, showed her that there is NOT any "confirmation number" to give her. So, this Adrianna literally "tossed" the order onto a table. I saw the sauce packet start to seep and make a dark puddle in the bottom of the bag, and I knew that I would get the poor rating from my customer. I told Adrianna that "as you can see, I'm wearing a mask, and gloves... just like you are. You have rules, I have rules. MY rule is, due to covid-19.... I will NOT accept an open container of food in my delivery. From ANY of the merchants. For ANY reason. Could you please re-bag, and SEAL the order?" She promptly rolled her eyes, grabbed a pot, and took it back to the dishwashing station. When she came back out, I asked her AGAIN to properly re-bag, and seal the order. I was told to "wait." I waited.... she didn't change the bag. She sealed it shut, tossed it back onto the table. She AGAIN made a remark about "none of this would be NECESSARY if it wasn't for Doordasher's STEALING their food." So, when I read all these phoney remarks about how wonderful the staff is.... I'm telling you. It's probably all made up by a manager or somebody who is paid commissions for good ratings. Yes, by the time I left, I was FUMING for being accused of not ONLY stealing orders... but also, the fact that during the SHUT-DOWN..... THEY were the ONLY restaurant leaving food outside on a table, unattended... and open for literally ANYBODY to grab. It was THEIR business decision to not ONLY treat the FOOD this way, but the people who tried hard to keep them in business during a pandemic! Any delivery driver who can roll through 219 deliveries in 6 weeks... super awesome delivery ratings, and 100% all orders were COMPLETED..... should NOT be called a "thief" (on first sight).... when it was the RESTAURANT who left the food on a table outside of a locked door, with NOBODY to confirm who was taking "what" off the table!! I encourage all Doordasher's to reconsider helping these people. It isnt worth it. And for the poor customer who is PAYING for the food.... it usually isn't the DASHER'S fault. read more

ordered 2 plates for my mom and i, i ordered sesame honey chicken and they gave me honey walnut shrimp, and my mom ordered fire cracker chicken and they gave her something completely different and only included 3 little pieces of chicken. the girl obviously did not listen to us and they were careless. read more

Ok well we tried to give you guys another shot after you sent us these bogus coupons to get a free entree which was crap choices anyway but we thought ok let's go . So we get there and tell them we have the free entree and that we want to buy the 3 meal plate too. So they give us two entrees and they said the 3rd is free on that......we dont want they we want 3 entree meal and than the free entree side that we are supposed to get. Instead of fixing the issue the guy argues with us and finally says someone else needs to help u cause I cant and walks away. Than this other person helps us and argues the same thing. Were like no we want the 3 entree that we will pay for and than the free side entree. Finally she gets it. Calls manager over and he helps us. It shouldnt of been that hard honestly. Than I had to pay separately to use other coupon for a free entree which costed us the same as if we didn't use the damn coupons .they than threw it all in a bag and we left so when we got home it ran all over the bag. I've been around asian food for 39 years...I grew up with this. Panda has tons of either msg or salt and even both...my bp tells me all the time. I like the ok food, smaller portions for the price is iffy...but I just don't see paying for food from Panda that can't be good for me. I don't have the same bad bp reaction to other chinese restaurants btw. read more

We had a bit of wait for our food, which was hot, fresh, and delicious. Unfortunately the service was almost non-existent. The girl who began taking our orders was very apathetic and couldn't even muster a smile or a "thank you". The atmosphere was plain dreary. Then it somehow got even worse when we were being finished up by a guy wearing the name tag "Sasha". He was SO incredibly rude. He was audibly sighing at every request, wouldn't look directly at us, shoved our items into a bag and turned away. It was awful. The manager was directly behind him and didn't seem to notice or care. At one point I asked for chopsticks and before I was even halfway through my question he just said "No" and walked away. This place needs new management!!!!!!! We were in line placed order they wrote on box, pushed box down. Took me t order behind us, then another order. The 2nd family behind us got theirs before our boxes moved.... I looked at manager right then said " how about you get our order before taking more orders!" I've never had good Panda Express. This location was no different. I always end up sick. Something is almost always burnt and I doubt they keep their food up to temperature while it's sitting behind the glass. There is no excuse you could possibly use that is good enough to justify eating at Panda Express. read more

Service here is very slow and inaccurate. I would not suggest this location if you are in a hurry, or like to receive all of your order.

We got takeout from the drive-thru tonight. Luckily we checked our order before getting too far because they gave us too many rangoons and no spring rolls. We walked inside to set it right and they took the extra rangoons and PUT THEM BACK in the warmers and gave us our spring rolls. I was so grossed out... We have eaten here often in the past and been very happy. Tonight we went through the drive thru to order. When we got home we were very disappointed. The serving size has been significantly reduced as the container is much smaller. We asked for a combo of rice and chow mein along with our 3 entrees. We received only the rice which tastes burned or scorched and the flavor of the entrees is not nearly as good as we have come to expect. The portions of the entrees are significantly smaller than they used to be. Perhaps quality is being cut as well as portion size. It seems the restaurant is following the same trend as the grocery industry - charging the same price for smaller containers and portions. We will most likely not return, which is unfortunate. read more
