One of the best Chinese buffets I have been to in TN. Very fresh & flavorful selections. Fresh salad bar. Not so much in the way of sushi but the variety of other entrees makes up for it. Reasonable prices & clean seating. Heads-up - get there early as it gets packed at mealtime. read more

Great place great food! This is one of the best Chinese buffets I've been to! Lots of variety compared to most buffets. The whole place was very clean and the food was fresh. They had a long wait but they actually got us in really fast. I guess you know it's good when there's tons of people waiting at the door to be seated. It was also fairly cheap. My friend and I came here for dinner tonight, as we eat here semi-regularly and enjoy the food and have never had any issues. The food was nothing different than usual tonight, until I look down at my plate and see what looks to be a larva/maggot in my food. I'm absolutely appalled with the quality of service we received tonight considering they were so hesitant to comp our food. As a restaurant owner/employee, I would think they would want to provide a better quality experience considering the circumstances. If you like maggot-infested food, Panda Garden Buffet is a great choice for you and your family! If I could leave O stars I would, considering I had to purge my entire dinner. We have visited several times. The bar feels unkempt and all times food was not very fresh or warm enough. We have ordered to go, hoping for fresh cooked and they take it off of the bar most times. The dining area smells like carpet needs cleaning and the atmosphere is off. The server brings drink, dropping off the check and never comes back. So.. we never came back. Panda Garden is a very good place to get Chinese! For starters, they have some nice appetizers like dumplings , egg rolls, and shrimp, but the best part is what I always have there, the LO-MEIN! I can guarantee that it is as good as the rest of the food itself. And, the dessert is also very good, like banana pudding just to name one. We stopped here for dinner today. It was really good, all the food was hot and fresh and had good flavor. The employees were friendly and attentive. The price is good too, it was only $14 for dinner, which was well worth it for all the food we ate. My favorites were the cheese mussels, all the shrimp entrees, including bacon wrapped shrimp, coconut shrimp and fried shrimp, sushi rolls, and the pepper steak was great. I put in a large online order of a variety of dishes. This was during the Covid Pandemic, so they were serving takeout only. I assume that means dishes are cooked to order. Please keep that in mind as you read my review. The bad food cannot be blamed on sitting at the buffet for too long. The food is disgusting. If I had eaten the rotten smelling beef and vegetables, I'm quite sure I would have gotten food poisoning. Do yourself a favor and just look elsewhere for a place to eat. Restaurants like this should not be patronized AT ALL. Their buffet is extensive and includes all of the staples: fried rice, lo mein, general tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, cream cheese wontons...the list goes on. They also have a portion that has some American choices available as well if there are picky eaters in the party. Free choice sushi is also available. It's nothing fancy, so don't get your hopes up, but it's all included in the price of the buffet which is usually $6.99 at lunch. read more

OK, I admit to being spoiled, and having really GOOD Chinese...even allowing for it being Cookeville, this place doesn't come close...there are FAR better places in town. No attention is being paid to the food... Most of the serving trays were empty, at only 5:30 pm, and what was put out was pretty dessicated . I suggest you give this one a pass, and go further along on Jefferson for far better choices. read more

They have a huge buffet with traditional Chinese dishes for the adults, along with some more "kid friendly" items which will help get them in the door, including ice cream! The Only reason I didnt give 1 star is the food was great. The customer service was probably the worst I've ever gotten treated. I've worked in customer service & Food Service both so I know your job isn't the greatest but seriously no one should ever be treated that way at any business. And then when I FINALLY got my food I figured they had put the receipt in the bag so I started to walk out since they just went ignored me. Well, rarely do I write a negative review, but this restaurant completely failed in its service and hospitality during my last visit (which was yesterday afternoon). I have been a patron of this business for many years. It has always topped my list as a favorite restaurant. During this last visit my food was terrible, and the floors were so greasy you could hardly walk. I am still sick today from this eating experience (terrible stomach cramps and upset stomach). The waitresses were not friendly. I am not sure what's going on with this business, because it's never been this way before. It's always been one of the best. I am so disappointed this has happened because I will probably not be back. We were not the only customers having problems when we left.
