Grew up eating Peking! And it's still so good. Service is always great and the food is always delicious too!

I was craving fried rice and being that we just moved to the area, we've been on a foodie adventure between Mt. Juliet and Lebanon. Peking has quite the positive reviews overall so we decided to try them out by doing pick-up. It's so refreshing living in a town that everything is opened past 8pm. Our go-to Chinese restaurant back in NC closed at 7pm, so this was a nice treat. My husband went inside to get our order, which was made very quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The building definitely looks on the older side and parking is only one way, which was confusing at first.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and wonton soup for myself and my husband ordered chow mein, lo mein, and we shared beef with broccoli, something else I've been craving. The food in general was okay, some outstanding more than others. His lo mein was delicious and my egg drop soup was honestly the BEST egg drop soup I have ever had. It was more broth-y than the standard Chinese restaurant's version and it had a few carrot strips and green onions in it. The pork fried rice was probably the biggest let down. There were no veggies in it and have very little flavor. The wonton soup's broth was nice but the wontons themselves were borderline flavorless. It was very hit or miss with everything we ordered. My husband and I have both been having stomach cramps the past two days since ordering here, both day of and from leftovers. It's unfortunate but we will have to continue to look for our next go-to Chinese restaurant. read more

I'm new to the area, had lunch here and it will be my go-to place when in this part of town. I chose Yu Shiang Beef (its available in pork and chicken too) - I've never seen that on a menu before. The soup and a bowl of fried "crackers" were delivered right away. Lunch was delivered when I was almost done with my soup. If I was working quick delivery would be important to me due to my limited lunch time. The hot and sour soup was flavorful, but it wasn't very spicey or sour, however it was better than the average I've had. The egg roll was large and better than most restaurant egg rolls. the rice was delicious, I wouldn't really call it fried rice but it had added flavor. And the entre was delicious with lots of veggies and a generous amount of beef. the price was less than $11, it's hard to find a good lunch for less than $11 these days. This is my "go to" restaurant when I'm in this part of town. I recommend you try it. read more

When I originally relocated to TN from the west coast, one of my "give-ups" was Asian cuisine. In general, a lot of the Asian restaurants in TN are combo type that serve Thai/Laos/Chinese/Japanese, etc. for this reviews, my bar is the other Chinese only places we have in Lebanon. There are about three. Peking is the longest lasting establishment, over 30 years. I put their food quality a notch above the others but more importantly, you can go inside and actually sit at a proper table, get service, etc. the others are basically counter service and to-go. Best Chinese food I've had in Tennessee. I loved the Mushu pork, egg roll, and hot and sour soup! My companion had the Szechuan shrimp lunch special. It came with soup and egg roll and he enjoyed it. Fast service and big portions. They made my Mongolian beef to order, not spicy and no mushrooms but it didn't have sauce. It did have tender flavorful beef and plenty of onions which I like. The egg drop soup came with plenty of crispies. My husband got the sweet and sour chicken, it looked delicious but was just ok. The eggroll was large and crispy. We finally made it back to try the Sunday buffet, and it was great. Although not as big as some other Chinese buffets, the food was fresh and hot. The staff were constantly replenishing empty dishes, and the food was very good. I highly recommend giving the buffet a try. read more

I went to Peking to pick up dinner. I ordered the combination low mein. When I got home, I had chow mein. I called the restaurant to let them know that my order was wrong. The lady who took my order proceeded to tell me that I had ordered chow mein. I told her that that was not what I ordered. At this point instead of trying to correct the problem, she wanted to tell me what I ordered. Just because you keyed the wrong order in doesn't mean that was what I ordered. I was not going to go back and forth with her. I told her not to worry about the mistake and have a good evening. read more

Not a fan. Very sweet hot & sour soup, crab Rangoon tasted way too much of only onion. We ate in and writing that was supposed to be crispy was soggy and chicken was way too chewy. Good flavor in the sauces on the dishes but way way way too much. Fried rice was blah. Egg rolls were too thick but flavor was ok. I would drive past and I always noticed there were numerous cars there. So, we decided to give it a try. Picked up the food at 3pm. I can't believe I've lived in this town for so long and have not visited this place until now. I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food, but I am a fan of Peking Chinese restaurant. The wife and I both ate soup, egg rolls, and entrees for $30, and we took home two boxes full of leftovers. Very good food and great service here for a very reasonable price. Tasty chinese at an affordable price. Met a group for lunch and I'm happy I decided to try this restaurant. Every order that came out was hot and smelled amazing. Always fresh, always good and the staff is great well worth the drive from Hermitage.

This restaurant reminded me a lot of this place where I grew up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has that tacky Chinese decor[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], the food you know exactly what you will get and the helpings are quite large. I have been going here my whole life with my family and the food is great but recently I decided to take my boyfriend. The server JE greeted us and started taking our order and what caught me off guard immediately she said "you American people like lo mien". Last time I was there another lady said we'd like the chow mien and when we ordered it that was the noodles, when we ordered that this time it wasn't the same as last time so I called her over and told her we made a mistake and she got onto me telling me that she warned me and that it's our fault not hers and she was very angry. She proceeded not to fix it and say she can only take one of them back. While doing this she gave us snarky remarks and proceeded to tell the manager and they sat there laughing. I have never experienced such awful service. When we were done with our food we gave her a $0 tip for the service and she proceeded to chase us to our car. I don't know how this is acceptable for a restaurant. I am very upset. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised. The outside is definitely no indication of what is inside. I have a couple friends who live in Lebanon and they decided to take me here. It was busy when we went and that is always a great sign. The price, portions, flavors and service were all great. This is a solid 4-stars in my book only because it's not the best Chinese I've ever had but it was really good and I was satisfied. The whole table ordered egg drop soup which looks better than it tastes. It was sort of bland for me but still not bad! We also ordered egg rolls and chicken on a stick. Egg rolls were good, filled with lots of cabbage and crispy. The chicken on a stick was the star of the show for me. They give you plenty of skewers and they come out piping hot. I don't know what they do to this chicken, it almost tastes cinnamon-y. It was SO good. I loved it. They also keep bottles of duck sauce and hot mustard at the table which is helpful. The main dishes were good. I got the double delight. The chicken and shrimp tasted good and all of the veggies were crunchy and cooked perfectly. It also wasn't overly salty like some Chinese can be. My friends got orange chicken and cashew chicken. They enjoyed both. I definitely will come back here again when I visit my friends! read more

I get so excited when Chinese restaurants have specials so you can try an assortment of appetizers and entrees. I like to maximize my ability to try different dishes at restaurants and I got to try a lot at Peking thanks to their two choices of dinner specials which serve 2 people. We got the dinner special with the sweet and sour pork and the almond chicken. The appetizers were a crab wonton, an egg roll and your choice of egg drop or wonton soup. So all in all, you get to try FIVE different things with the dinner special (or six if the person you share dinner with allows you to sample the soup). My favorite thing about the meal was actually the egg drop soup, it was comforting and delicious which is an unbeatable combination. I don't care for fried food that much so when I think about it this meal had three deep fried things--the wonton, the egg roll and the sweet and sour pork but it was still great. I believe the other option of dinner combination had a different type of chicken and sweet and sour shrimp instead of pork. I would try that one next time. Service was really good but even on a Friday night this place was empty. I felt like I was talking really loudly even though I wasn't really. After we got our check we pulled our fortunes out of the cookies (mine was disappointing) and paid at the register. Near the register is a buffet station setup so I'm guessing they may have some lunch buffet special. This is a really solid spot. I've lived in the Lebanon area for almost a year now and have been very hesitant of trying chinese restaurants due to being from the north and being unsure. I finally caved and gave Peking a go. I ordered the Sesame chicken to keep it basic. The sesame chicken came with little to no flavor and was fairly soggy. The coloring seems off and I just feel like there should be more sauce and flavoring. I ended up spitting it out at a point because it's just so soggy and tastes like nothing, closer to sweet and sour chicken. The rice isn't too bad, has a tad bit of sweetness that i'm not used to being there. Plus in the north, you usually get fried rice with your dish, so just getting basic white rice was new to me as well. Overall, not very satisfied with Peking and wish I had a better experience. read more

First of all, I have eaten Chinese food from many different small and large Chinese restaurants on the east side of the USA. This place was awesome 35 years ago when I was in my prime but my husband ordered quite a few dishes for all the family for Christmas, and it was quite disappointing. All of the chicken dishes in which it states they're fried before sauces are added ends up a mushy mess...such as cashew chicken, general chicken, sweet and sour chicken. Three dishes were heavily battered and fried chicken, which was soaked and mushy with ho-hum sauces with only a small cube of chicken in the middle of the fried batter. I honestly think they fried the chicken cube, dipped it back into batter and fried again. The chicken lo mein and the egg rolls were good. The Crab Rangoon was delicious and that's the only reason I'm giving them three stars. read more
