The Chinese donuts and orange chicken was really good. The restaurant itself is actually clean in the lobby area. The service was pretty decent, but the menu says that with the lunch deal you can choose either can soda, egg rolls, or one of the soups. I chose the can soda but she gave me egg rolls and told me that I have to get over $30 to get a can soda for free even though I showed her THEIR menu that said you can choose a can soda over egg rolls. I asked can I exchange the egg rolls for the soda and she told me when I buy over $30 which in my mind, don't put false advertisement on the menu if you aren't going to honor it. The honey chicken is not that good in my opinion. Mainly because when I tried to chew it, I really couldn't. But overall it's decent, but not my first choice. read more

We passed this place many times, wonder if they have good food. Coz the place never looked busy. So tonight, we decided to try their food. We ordered vegetables fried rice, broccoli with garlic sauce, bean curd with Sichuan sauce, and Hunan beef... it was taking about 15 minutes waiting time for food being cooked. They packed the food for take out even we already told them that we're going to dine in... so, we just opened the boxes and ate them in their cold dining room. Don't feel any heater on. I've been around the world, and I'm hard pressed to find Chinese Food that tastes better than Panda. Okay, so I might be biased because so many times over Panda has saved me when I've been trying to pinch a penny but refuse to eat Ramen. Let's be honest though, Panda really does make amazing chinese food. What I find hard to believe is that they hardly charge anything at all for such good food. Lunch specials are difficult to finish because it's so much food, and that's considering my hearty appetite. Lunch specials barely cross the $5 mark (even after tax). The General Tso's is good. If you're trying to eat healthy, it is possible, believe it or not. It sounds gross, but the chicken and bean sprouts is so amazing, and it tastes really fresh, for chinese food anyway. A small order is plenty enough for dinner, comes with rice, and is under $4 after tax. All the other chinese places in Hattiesburg are a joke except for E&B discount grocery. E&B is equally delicious (though different tasting), but the portions pale in comparison to Panda. Be noted, this place is not a buffet place. It's take-out, but they have tables there. It takes about 15 minutes from when you order until when you get your food, so be sure to grab a menu and call ahead. If not, I always spend time next door at the Sunflower grabbing beer to go with my soon-to-be-meal. read more

I ordered takeout from Panda while passing through Hattiesburg a week ago. The place is a dump, but the food was outstanding! The main dishes were cooked to order, so it took a few minutes. Most people who came in while I waited had called in their orders. The Crab Rangoon was the best I have ever had. The egg rolls were very good as well. Waited 30 minutes for my food . Most of the Main entree dishes were empty - so very little to choose from when we went in . I wish I could say they were just having an off night - but this has happened every time we've been here . My family got their meals - but I had to wait for mine since most of the bowls were empty . When they brought my main entree out it was in the smallest most pathetic little container . So not only did it take them forever to bring the food but they also skimped on the size. The sevice is quick and $4.97 gets a lunch combo in my case a #9 with ckn fried rice lunch and egg roll togo. In less than ten minutes (barely) i was walking back to my car. Words fail to say just how godawful the food at Panda has become. They used to be pretty good. No more. I had the sweet-and-sour pork with broccoli and an order of soup. The egg drop soup was dreadful. (How is that possible?) The pork was tough and stringy, the broccoli barely cooked at all. The dish was completely inedible. I didn't even feed it to the dog. Ok, the first thing you have to know is this place is a dump. No joke, you can still see the ugly tiles on the front of the building of mortar and pestles from the drugstore that they bought out. There isn't much climate control and if the lights are on, its a good day. That being said this is one of my favorite restaurants. Panda is my favorite please-don't-make-me-cook-tonight take-out joint. The food is cheap, the cooks are fast, and I have never had anything there that wasn't absolutely fresh and wholesome. Try the wontons or fried bananas! There is a dining room, but you'd probably be happier eating in your car in the parking lot if you got nowhere else to go. Got food poisoning from sweet & sour chicken. It's been a nightmare trying to get a refund. When I did end up getting a hold of someone from the restaurant, they told me that in order for me to receive​ a refund, they would have to take the food back - which is fine since I obviously don't want any of it any longer. After about an hour they told me a driver would be coming to pick up my food. After about thirty minutes, I had to call BeyondMenu (through whom I made my delivery order) to try and remedy this nightmare situation. After about thirty minutes, I got a call from BeyondMenu saying the restaurant requested that I drive my food back to the restaurant. For a delivery order. After telling me a drive would come to my house to take the food away. I still haven't heard back from the restaurant or BeyondMenu (who has been really great in mediating this situation, by the way). It's been another hour. Still waiting. read more

This is one of the few chinese joints in town that has what appears to be fresh egg rolls. The Food is always fresh, the portions are enough to feed two, and the price is very reasonable.
