This is our official review for Super King Buffet. My child's review: "All the food I tried was pretty good, only around 2 things I didn't like. The fried chicken was overdone but still not the worst. Dessert was good, and the shrimp was good. The tea was also pretty good!!! I ate till I was nauseously full cuz it was js that good fr id go back and definitely recommend it, and the sushi I tried was pretty good! ps yes it was also clean and the service was fast but the waiter lady put me on the spot asking what drink I wanted and I didn't know what they had and I got scared lowkey like lady I dunno what y'all got!!! wym "what drink u want" IDK WHAT DO YOU HAVE??? Absolutely horrendous experience here today. I've genuinely never felt this uncomfortable eating out before. It was just me and my brother dining. We liked the food, took small portions of different items, ate calmly and quietly, and wasted very little food. We followed the normal etiquette you'd expect at a buffet. About an hour into our meal, our server, an older Chinese lady, started giving us long stares whenever we asked for something as basic as a drink refill, which we had already paid for. At one point, I asked for an extra spoon and fork because the utensils had been cleared from our table while plates were being cleaned up. Instead of simply handing them over, she gave me another long stare and a facial expression as if I had done something wrong just by asking. Me and my brother both felt extremely uncomfortable after that and decided to leave shortly afterward. What makes this worse is that I went to another Chinese buffet in Hattiesburg about a week ago. I won't name it because I don't want people thinking I'm comparing restaurants just to promote another place, but the experience there was completely different. The staff made us feel comfortable and welcome the entire time. Here, it was the opposite. The ambience itself was actually decent. The restaurant was quiet, there was soft music playing, and even the bathroom area was clean. The food was alright too, nothing extraordinary but decent enough for a buffet. But the way we were treated completely ruined the experience. I honestly have no words for how uncomfortable the staff made us feel. Never coming back. Better stay away. read more

Super king buffet was good. I arrived at about 6pm and everything was fresh. I could see the steam walking in the door. Upon entering you walk up to the desk to get seated. Once walked to our table, the waitress got our drink order. We went to make our plate. Place was pretty clean and they food was plentiful!!! I was in town just for 1 night and this was a great choice I didn't get any pictures or videos. The only thing is I thought the price for the buffet was ridiculous. We came here with a party of 10 one Saturday evening. My parents had called ahead so we didn't have to wait in the long line - we were able to get seated quickly. Came here after a busy day to grab a good dinner. We had a large party, but were quickly seated. The staff checked on us frequently and always made sure our drinks were filled. They have a large selection of items, typical of what you'd find at most Chinese buffets. This location does have a hibachi grill that lets you choose your own meats, veggies, etc for them to grill and flavor. That's always a nice bonus to discover. I will say the food was very good, but it was very expensive for a china buffet two adults and a 10 year old was 76 dollars. I may could see this if there were any type of seafood crab legs, oysters or anything like that but that was not the case. Service was not good we were not checked on and no refills the entire time we were there. For the price we paid we could have went to a nicer restaurant or fish camp. So this was the highest rated buffet(according to google) the selection is kind of meh if you've been to similar restaurants, beyond the lack of choice you quickly realise who the target client is, big backs. The flavor was about what you'd expect the profiles range between sweet and super sweet to salty and...sweet. For an asian buffet, it was somewhat dimly lit and the small buffet area meant you were kind of stepping over folks. I didn't find much that looked good so I settled on pepper chicken and it was the greasiest iteration of the dish I've ever eaten. I stopped eating after I bit into a piece and got straight up grease in the bite. The chicken had a fishy taste which probably meant everything was fried in the same oil. Overall this experience kind of showed me that gluttons are the only people who'd think any of these places are good. The price for ONE plate of food was 19.00 mind you I ate only a quarter of the plate because I could feel the GI rebellion building with every spoon of grease I shoved into my gullet. read more

I was so happy to see a Chinese buffet with 4 stars. In all my travels that is rare. I read some reviews that stated the service was not great but that was not my experience. Everyone was very pleasant. As a vegetarian I wanted to see the veggie dishes so I asked to peruse first and they allowed me to do so. One of the staff even pointed out all the veggie dishes, although she got one wrong I later found out. I was happy to see there was a huge selection of veggie dishes, including corn on the cob, green beans, French fries, mushrooms, etc. Everything I had was very good. I even finished it off with a bowl of ice cream. The only true negative was that while I was told the Philippino Egg Roll was vegetarian, it was not. I could have misunderstood so who knows. They also have a hibachi area which I would have taken advantage of but I was stuffed. The only negative is that it is dark and outdated. The food was good but the service was not. Me and some friends I haven't seen in a while chose to come here because they are open until 10pm on Saturdays. We arrived before 9pm. By the time we had only one plate, the server brought us our check and informed us that the chef needed to leave early. On our 2nd plate, she came to ask if we were going to eat anymore. We told her no. The staff then started to clear out the buffet. Banging pans so loud it sounded like the place was being ransacked. At the same time another employee sat there watching us eat. They then proceeded to start vacuuming and mopping. It was only 9:30. We decided to leave because it was so awkward & we felt bad. I understand that he needed to leave early but they should have closed early instead of allowing us to be seated & make a plate. As Chinese buffets go this one is better than most. They have your typical dishes and a few you don't usually see. The food is prepared well and appears and tastes fresh. The Hibachi is very nice, definitely get that if you go. The pork dumplings aren't the greatest and they could offer a few more dessert options. They do have Lumpias (Filipino eggrolls) which was surprising. I also like the ice cream selection. The restaurant appears clean and the staff are attentive. This was absolutely the most disgusting excuse for a restaurant I've ever encountered. After taking 3 bites of food, I became physically ill from the atrocious taste and texture of the food. Forced to leave the building before the projectile vomiting occurred, my husband stayed inside to pay the bill. To my amazement, it cost us $52.00 for 1/2 a shrimp and a sip of tea. My husband explained what had happened to the manager who was the rudest little man I've ever come across. It's a shame we can't give negative stars. Pretty good food selection for a buffet! Lots of meat selections and noticeable shrimp dishes too. They had a lot of imitation crab dishes wish I could pass on. Food was flavorful and refilled frequently. Good staff and wasn't too crowded. I'd come back! This place used to be the best around years ago. Now the entitlement train has docked. Over $16 base price (no drink) for lunch. 3% credit card fee bc "the card company charges you for using a card". Right. The card company doesn't charge you, the store does. It's called doing business and this entitled excuse to pass off a common pay practice is BS. I refuse to support businesses that do this. No military discount anymore "after covid" they said. The food is subpar. The service is worse. They have a lot of "stuff" but it is filler. We now regularly frequent a Chinese buffet in Semmes, AL (Mobile area) on Sundays that is cheaper than this weekday lunch price. The Semmes shop has several types of shrimp, frog legs, several REAL crab dishes including whole blue crabs, crawfish, much more seafood, ect. This place has a couple shrimp dishes, some cheap boney back ribs, and a lot of fried offerings. We were in town and our favorite seafood shop Triangle was closed so we tried this again. 1. Hibachi wasn't open, there was no sign saying it wasn't available. Should have walked out right there. 2. Food was horrible. Beef chewy, chicken overcooked and tough. I can't eat fish/seafood. Tasted a bite of several dishes, ended up eating only the long beans, edamame/soy beans, and a couple of the fried cheese wanton. Left hungry and very disappointed. 3. Server never said a single word to me the whole time I was there. 4. When I complained I got the "I just work here" speech, there's nothing I can do, and there's no manager available (at noon on a weekday.) As far as Chinese buffets go, this is one of the better ones I have been to for a takeout dinner. I have been a couple of times and found the staff to be friendly and I also find that the food is always fresh. I mostly focus on chicken if all kinds and I haven't been disappointed yet with any of my choices. The hot and sour soup is also pretty good. The price is a set price and not based upon the weight of your plate. All in all a good alternative for quick food with many choices. They also have a sushi option which I didn't partake. read more

From buffet tables I tried vegetable roll, mushrooms, vegetable rice, and general Tso chicken. Very tasty Hot and sour soup was interesting, but my date said it tasted like cough syrup. Last I tried Chinese cabbage (good) and hot and seafood. (Did not seem spicy to me) Date had that little chocolate coffee cake you normally see at Chinese buffet and said otw was melty. Hibachi is good but guy will not interact with customers to give guidance as the plates line up to be cooked. Don't sit beside the buffet unless you're cold because its steamy and warm.
