I think the requirement to be hired by a Paneras in Columbia is that you move slower than a stoned sloth, have no concept of time and have never managed to make a deadline in your life. I have been ordering cinnamon raisin bagels by the dozens for several years at this location. The last several times I found my order was given to someone else but I waited and got fresh bagels being made. Yesterday after I had paid for them online, I found out they were out of the bagels I ordered and although I got a refund, I still had no bagels. Staff seemed to think it was no big deal. Why wasn't my order filled before selling out? I will NEVER use this store again. I immediately asked for a refund for my order and ended up being charged twice instead. I promptly called Panera corporate and they immediately issued two refunds for my order. This rating is for all Panera locations. What is the obsession with paying insane amounts of money for flavored tea, coffee, pastries, salad and sandwiches. The food is fine. As fine a sandwich or salad that anyone, and I mean anyone, could make in their own kitchen. The lines are insanely long. The staff seem to think you are honored to have them taking our order?? And the pastries sit out uncovered. While I stood in line, for an unreasonable amount of time, I had the misfortune of watching numerous flys land and walk around on said pastries. Don't worry, the flys weren't only species that was able to enjoy them. A lot of customers ahead of me ordered them as well. And don't worry, Panera didn't upcharage those customers for any "extras" the flys left behind. If I wasn't given a $10 gift card I would never had visited any Panera establishment because as an accountant the cost does not provide much benefit, in my opinion. Actually, for the cost of their sandwiches and salads one could purchase the ingredients and consume the meal numerous times at a much lower cost per meal. Anyway, to my meal. I had $10 gift card. As I stood in line I realized I had a limited amount of food I could order. I settled on a salad and a tea. The salad was tiny and had a thimble, yes thimble, of dressing! And while the tea was good, in no way was unsweetened flavored water worth $2.50! The tiny salad and tea cost $10.24, so I had the shell out more money than my gift card to eat! And I was hungry very soon after eating. ‍ I will give it to Panera's marketing team. They know how to manipulate the public into thinking they eatten something special. Hats off to marketing! I don't think I can accurately convey my disdain for this store using just words, but I'm going to attempt to. There's a complete and utter lack of management in this store. Menu items are consistently out of stock before noon, and the waits are horrendous. My girlfriend and I went yesterday morning only to find they'd closed the drive-thru. Not a dealbreaker, just a minor inconvenience. We pulled into a spot and ordered a BLT and a brownie online. The payment went through and we were given an estimated wait time of 2 HOURS. Assuming that was a mistake, we went inside and were told that it was going to take a while. There were employees just kicking it, no one seemed to be trying to take care of the "backlog" of orders. The girl at the counter made it a nightmare for us to cancel the order too. We wasted a good 30 minutes trying to understand why it was going to take 2 hours to get a sandwich before leaving without anything we came for. I've recently started to try the curbside pick-up at this location and have had an awful experience twice now within two weeks. When you order curbside through the app, it'll tell you it'll be ready in x amount of minutes, and the app will give you an "I'm here" option to let them know when to bring out your food. The first awful experience I waited in my car for TWENTY-FIVE minutes after the food was 'done.' I had just spent the last two days moving and felt miserable and definitely looked that way too. I was happy for the curbside pick-up option with how exhausted I was. But after waiting and waiting, I tried to call, and every time I got a busy signal. Finally, I went in and my order was sitting in the online pick-up area of the building. I asked them about why it was there when it said curbside pick up, and the description of my vehicle on the ticket. The customer service was terrible, they basically said, "oh well, sorry, I guess." I was irritated, but it was a long day for me, and it was a mistake for them, whatever. So, this week I try again. It was just a mistake last time, it should be better this time. The app said my food would be ready at 3:29 PM. I arrived soon after and selected, "I'm here." The parking lot was practically empty, so I thought my chances would be better this time. Again, over TWENTY minutes after it was 'done' my food finally arrived. I called and called before it arrived, busy signal every time. And again, I had a long day and was sweaty and tired, I didn't want to go inside, I chose curbside pick-up for a reason. When the girl finally came out with my food I'm sure I looked annoyed, does anyone's phone calls actually go through to this Panera Bread? And she just goes, "Johnson?" I've been here three times. Each time with almost no line and EVERY TIME I've waited more than 10 minutes for my food. Compared to the Panera on Conley, this one is the worst. In addition to that, two of the three times, the store has been out of the bagel I wanted at 9am. How do you run out of bagels in the morning. If it were, 2pm? Okay. But come on. As good as any other Panera I've eaten at. I like their food and their special entrees that other sandwich restaurants don't have. Service seemed to take a little while but with their food being prepared when you order it, they will be longer than fast food. Appeared clean and staff was friendly. This location must be poorly managed. Rarely a good experience. Last two times I've ordered curbside pickup it's taken over 15 minutes to get order brought out despite app/web indicating it was ready. One of two times i just went in to get it. This is during off peak when hardly a customer. Tonight they forget salad dressing completely. I would estimate 2/3 of visits have an error or problem. Saw the brutal reviews and thought I might add a dissenting, positive opinion. I am here after 1, and it is not very busy. Ordered my salad and sandwich and order was filled in ~5 minutes. Not bad, though the Paneras in NJ are about 2-3 minutes. Food was good and as expected. I have been to Paneras in at least 10 states and the food is quite consistent. This was no exception. 2nd time here. 1st time we sat in the drive through for 35 minutes and by the time we got to order we were told that breakfast was no longer being served. It took some arguing to convince them that we were there in time for breakfast. Went inside this time. There was only one person taking orders so it took awhile to get our food. Restaurant was 25% capacity. Nice and new. The coffee was out so I had to wait for awhile. Food was good. Lady that waited on us was nice but they seem a little disorganized.
