My husband was pleased when he was told the chipotle aioli was again being used on his preferred Chipotle Chicken Avo Melt sandwich. I'm still lamenting the absence of the Asias Sesame Chicken salad so I decided to try the Spicy Fiesta Chicken sandwich. Chicken as always was tasty but mostly drowned out by the salsa verde spread which was too much for my liking (way too spicy all the time to me). Others would probably love it. Worst food ever Sandwich was in edible and the soup was something you get out of a can of Campbell's soup. The tuna sandwich is really taking a downfall. They have it on regular bread now instead of the focaccia bread prices went up and food quality down will never eat there again. this is nationwide just not this location. Delicious bowls! We stopped while we were on the road traveling and was pleased with the delicious teriyaki bowl and whatever it was that my husband got. The fruit bowl side dish was spot on. You should offer butter with your bread. Also, I wanted to order the entire meal on the app but it didn't offer extra meat on the teriyaki bowl. read more

We (my family of 4) stopped here at around 9am on a Saturday morning as a stop during a road trip. Because it is so new, the interior was clean and modern. While we were there only a handful of other customers were at this Panera. The manager, Tim, took our order. He was very polite and welcoming. Or order was pretty basic 2 breakfast sandwiches, 2 bagels, 1 coffee and 1 cup of fruit. No issues with the order. The fruit cup was fresh - and I am pretty picky about fruit. My whole family was so happy when we heard that Panera was coming to town! I eat Keto so I ordered their turkey blt without the bun and a salad. If you tell them ahead of time that you don't want any gluten or corn products they will go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. They even have a gluten free chocolate cookie. My non keto kids said it was delicious! You don't hear that about gluten free desserts very often! read more

I am on a road trip with my mom, from Chicago to Nashville. We stopped at a Panera at the start of our trip and hit the road. We were going to get some cookies to go with our lunch, but decided not to - even though we really wanted some! So halfway through our trip we decided to stop at this Panera in Effingham to ask if we could get a refill on our drinks and buy some cookies. We told the sweet employee our road trip story and need for cookies and she went back to ask the manager about refills. She comes back with two new cups and an offer of free cookies! It was such a pleasant surprise! We are now munching the cookies while we have a couple of hours to go. So happy! read more

A little pricey for what you get. The menu has changed a little since Covid started. The last time I went there they were out of bread which is what we usually dip in our soup. They also got rid of the Baja Mac n Cheese. It's overall good food, but pricey and they may or may not have the food you're looking for. read more

I just want to say they went above and beyond to accommodate us as a truck driver they let us walk up to the drive through and order Jess was amazing and went above and beyond she even brought our food out the front so if your a driver they will let you walk up to the window !! Stopped here on a road trip and was so happy to find some fresher drive thru food for the road. My chicken salad sandwich was perfection. The Panera's by my house always seem to skimp on the chicken and this one did not. Kids liked their PB and J sandwiches, but was a little small for my elementary aged son. A lovely cashier named Deborah at this location went above and beyond to help accommodate me. I recently had oral surgery and am not able to chew much. So when I ordered just broth she made sure my soup wouldn't have any large chunks of meat or noddles and even ensured my baguette was swapped for a softer more pliable bread! Didnt have anything I wanted besides the tuna salad. Didnt have my usual bread or dessert. I always get just the tuna salad not any of the additional toppings and they have messed that up when I clarified twice. Not the only time this happened. 4/10 times they would have everything or I had to get a half order instead of a whole. Not to add it was about 10 minutes in the drive thu waiting for the food. I love having Panera in Effingham. The Cinnamon crunch bagel is awesome. While there are a few issues not with just our Panera but every Panera Getting a bagel cut then bite into it and it tastes like onions! I can't stand onions and this happens to often. I would give negative stars if possible. I ordered an $11 salad at the drive-through. The salad was completely inedible and disgusting. It seemed like the whole bottom half had been frozen and thawed. About 80% of the lettuce was slimy and transparent like it was sitting in water. Ugh! I won't be going back. read more

Will not be placing any carry out orders with this establishment from here on out. I work for a small Dr.'s office and we have a Pharmaceutical Rep luncheon twice a week so they can meet with the doc and inform of their product. The first inconvenience is the fact that you have to have the credit card information before you can even place the order. I normally place our order via telephone and the rep pays for the order upon pickup. That is not the case with Panera so the rep either has to call prior to placing the order (which is apparently too confusing for Panera staff ) or I have to ask the rep for their credit card information so I can place the order. Not only am I NOT comfortable having to ask for this information but the Rep is not thrilled in giving out that information and I don't blame them. So lets move on. The order is "called in" which is a mortal sin from what I can tell. There were ( 7 ) orders total that were placed. When our rep got there for pickup not only were they unaware an order had been placed but actually scolded the rep for the lack of on line ordering. The girl told the rep twice that we should really order online. We are a VERY busy practice with limited staff and even more limited internet access. NOT very many companies appreciate the staff spending time online placing a lunch order that could be called in. Due to the rudeness of the staff including the manager on duty at 11:45 am on 8/14/18 we will not be placing an order with this establishment ever again. There are plenty of other restaurants in town the welcome our order ( even know we picked up the phone ) and welcome our rep with friendliness and respect. PS. i LOVE panera....usually. when first opened this location did on okay job, but that's to be expected. however, i've been waiting for months now for them to get their act together. i am a frequent customer- as panera has a lot of options for me (plant-based). however, nearly every single time i order something it's wrong. if i order a vegan lentil quinoa bowl that's $9, they either give me one scoop or it has chicken in it. i order a sandwich and i repeat at least twice NO cheese, swap the bread.... it comes with the wrong bread or has cheese on it. one time my boyfriend and i had 30 minutes to come in and eat before we had to get on the road and he ordered a sandwich and i ordered the vegan lentil bowl. his sandwich- SMASHED and TORN apart bread, hard as a ROCK sourdough baguette. my lentil bowl- CHICKEN in it. they returned with the "correct" order only to see literally not even 1/4 of the bowl filled... we didn't have time to go back again and have them fix everything because it already took them 15+ to get these botched orders out to us. oh yeah, must have forgot to mention there were only SIX other customers in the entire restaurant... this location is VERY SLOW. (i don't even go in the drive through as often anymore because it always takes at least 10 minutes... what's the point of a drive through then???) anyways, so he ate his smashed sandwich and i ate my two spoonfuls of soup. i was hungry not even 30 minutes later. i keep giving this location a chance to get it right and they keep letting me down. such a shame... i used to LOVE panera. read more
