We've stayed at this cabin in years past and enjoyed it, but this time around was different....Not sure if it's a they have a new cleaning team or what but the experience was not the best. Cleanliness (Or Lack Thereof) Walking in, the first thing we noticed was the floor. Layers of dirt, dog hair, and food crumbs greeted us. It's one thing to feel "rustic," but another to feel like the cabin floor is where last night's dinner is still hanging out. Hot Water Challenge If you're up for a speed shower, you'll fit right in! We got about 45 seconds of hot water before it turned into an arctic plunge. If you enjoy cold showers (or just don't mind a 30-second scrub), you'll be fine. For the rest of us, plan accordingly. Kitchen So, you're expected to wash dishes here, which is all well and good, but the provided drying rack has mold growing on it. Yep, mold. The sponges? Beyond gross. Luckily, we came prepared with our own sponge. And if you like boiling multiple pots of water just to clean? This is your place! Kitchen Tools: Bring Your Own Wine Opener We brought a nice bottle of wine, only to find their wine opener was broken, I'm sure it's different in each cabin. Not the end of the world, but kind of a bummer. If you're a kitchen tool person, maybe bring your own essentials. The Shower Showering was... an experience. That shower liner has seen better days- stained and unsettling. A simple change to a darker color might help disguise the stains if replacing it isn't in the cards. Oh, and the showerhead? So much calcium buildup, the water flow was a bit of a guessing game. Wifi Pretend they don't advertise for it because it hardly works. Honestly, if the cabin had been clean, we could have overlooked some of these quirks. But the dirt and grime really soured the experience. Not sure if the cleaning team is in-house or outsourced, but whoever's it is really should get a fresh pair of glasses and a dash of pride in their work. read more

This is the second time I've stayed. At my previous visit my daughter slept in the loft over top, it was equipped with a mattress. So, I booked with the intention of a family outing (6 of us total), the site said the deluxe cabin sleeps 6. Great! I booked for a 3 night stay and just needed to order a twin sized blow up mattress for one of my kids, as I remembered the futon and the twin mattress in the loft, as well as the full bed in the back of the "cabin". Well the time came for my trip and it became a solo trip. Upon check in I went to the loft to open the windows because it was so hot in the trailer and realized that there wasn't a mattress. That would have been a shock to have to force two of my teens to make the futon work. They need to adjust their advertising. The full bed is ok, the dishes were all dirty, so was the floor (as if it had never been mopped), and the Wi-Fi didn't work my first night there. Rustic is absolutely a great way to describe it. Fishing was fun and I really enjoy the lake. Locals are something else though, there aren't a lot of friendly people working at the majority of the stops I made. read more

Overall had a great time here and I would come back again! I feel the website needs an upgrade with more in-depth details on what's included with each cabin. We rented the standard cabin and I was under the impression I was getting more then what was in there. The standard has 2 electric stove top burners & a small fridge (like a small personal fridge), but we know for next time to get the deluxe cabin. The staff is great! They were all very kind and helpful! Word of advice, if you are renting a boat and there is any wind or the water is choppy, go for the pontoon. First time we went out to fish we rented the small fishing boat (it's a row boat with a motor) and came back completely soaked. The pontoon was wonderful though. The good: Great fishing, cabin was clean, food/coffee from the restaurant was tasty, general store nearby has a lot of stuff if you run out or forgot anything, there are pots/pans/silverware/cooking utensils and they were clean, the other people staying there and the staff are wonderful, it's close to the town of Panguitch if you want to head in and check it out, IT'S BEAUTIFUL! The bad: shower is small, bed was uncomfortable (we found the futon better to sleep on), the coffee pot is a small one, only 1 burner worked on our stove, the standard cabin TV will only play DVD's so bring some or they have a pretty large DVD library in the main cabin. This place was a grand slam for us even though it was very windy it was nice the new management is great! And nice the cookies in the lobby cafe is amazing are spot was great over looked the water from the picture online I thought forsure this was a desalinated park with no trees and would be horrible it was the exact opposite! They even brought us a folding picnic table our site did not have one if you come also bring your own fire pit the rv sites don't have that either and if you want to rent a boat do so ahead of time they sell out quick that's the one thing I would change the boats look a bit run down for people to be out on they definitely need love and we could not rent one all weekend! I spoke with Brian over the phone the morning of October 27th, 2022 to confirm our late check-in, told him we were driving in from out of state & he said "No problem I'll leave the key to your cabin in the green mailbox for you if I'm not here" We confirmed the cabin number 617, cool. Started our 5hr drive there. Arrived around 7pm, we got our key & immediately started taking our things into the cabin, we are a family of five with a doggo that came with so it was a lot. The sun was going down so we were trying to be quick because the kids wanted to see the lake, they were so darn excited to go fishing. Went back inside as soon as it was dark, you can't see anything outside except what the porch light gives you. Came in & the cabin looked cute at first glance. Kids were starving so we made food but something told me to wash everything before we used it or eat off of it, glad I did. The oven was a mess inside, the silverware drawer had crap all inside of it & I'm not sure what that was stuck in the back of the freezer. Finally figured out the TV situation. Well this is were it gets crazy! I went into the loft area to check on the kids & the black futon had crap all over it, I asked my oldest if they did that & he said "NO, it was like that when we came up here" It appears they didn't actually wash or clean anything up there including the extra sheets or pillows, one pillow had a giant dried up bugger stuck to it & what appeared to be pee! So I said don't touch this. Went into the main bedroom & noticed the bed was sunk in & those sheets aren't clean either. The washing machine had black mold in it so this would explain the smell in the bedroom, this was health concern number one. Number two, & what also made us leave immediately, was the mouse droppings we kept finding ALL OVER THE CABIN! They are so small so you don't notice them at first until you start looking. Like under the kitchen sink when I was trying to find a kitchen towl. There were a ton of mouse droppings, along with BLACK MOLD from a leak that had to have been happening for awhile! They literally threw a mouse trap under there & forgot about it, thinking it would take care of itself I guess. As we started packing our stuff back up, mouse droppings were just everywhere! On the kitchen counter under the paper towel holder, next to the coffee maker, on the couch behind the headrest, on the bathroom floor, next to the heater vents on the floor & under the couch. We were trying to recover the dogs ball & a toy from under there but you can see the mouse droppings & the mounds of dust from not actually pulling the couch out & cleaning! So we left them. We had no reception & the wifi was bad so even if we wanted to get ahold of someone to try switching into a different cabin, we couldn't. If someone was around that worked there we didn't know because we weren't told that. We wrote a note to them about why we left, the health concerns we had & left it in the green mailbox along with the cabin key. We finally hit the road around 10pm. We didn't know who else would be open or take a family of five with a Golden Retriever, so we drove home. Exhausted! The next morning I called twice but no one answered so I left a voice message, finally received a call back from Brian around 10am (my time) & said they are going to refund us our whole stay, as they should! & that "They've been having a mice problem up there but didn't know about the black mold under the kitchen sink." REALLY! You couldn't tell me that before, you know, the morning I called to let you know we were driving in late from another state! Oh & here's another kicker, "housekeeping" left a note saying "We hope you enjoyed your stay" haha that's a good joke! If you thought that was clean I'd hate to see your house! Anyway, sorry for the long post to anyone reading this. But this needed to be posted & I hope the owner sees this! It's a serious health concern & Cabin 617 needs to be closed down immediately to be repaired! read more

Wonderful experience at Panguitch Lake Resort. Brian was super helpful and friendly. We rented a two person kayak and had a great time! They also have stand up paddle boards and watercraft for rent. We went to Panguitch Lake Resort for our first time ice fishing. Brian and Alex were fantastic. They took us out in their 4 wheel drive vehicle to the best fishing spots. Brian put up a tent so we were out of the wind. We caught a 18 inch cutthroat trout. Had a great time. The deluxe cabin was nice and cozy with a fireplace and T.V. We plan to return this summer. read more

After visiting this place several times over the years I have come to the conclusion that a lot of people come here for the weather. We bring a travel trailer and it has full hookups which is awesome and other than that it's a typical RV spot. No trees, no grass, just a lot of gravel. What bothers me are the community restrooms and showers. I was walking up to do a little laundry and I noticed the cleaning lady standing on the wooden deck twirling the broom in her hand and when she noticed me put the broom back in the laundry room and departed with another female. When I went into the laundry room, I noticed a big pile of whatever she had swept still sitting on the floor. The washing machines and dryers were probably what you would expect, very messy and very old. I shower late every night to avoid the crowd and generally use the facilities at most RV parks because my shower is like a phone booth & also has a small hot water heater, so I like to use RV parks showers. I can put up with a lot but unfortunately here I have noticed a significant decline in the cleaning of the restrooms & general upkeep of this place. I must have killed at least two spiders every night that were dangling right over my head, either above the toilet or above the sink or above the shower. I would come in the next night the splattered remains were still there or the trash was still full or there was no toilet paper or no paper towels or no soap, which is okay cuz I bring my own soap . I cleaned up most of the ones that I splattered but some of them I left hoping they would be cleaned up by the staff, boy was I wrong. I should have brought a can of Raid with me, and next time I will . I am not a fisherman and I don't have my own Razor or motorcycle, but I like to ride bikes and walk around the trails. Talking to a lot of fellow RV'ers, I have noticed that a lot of people come here to avoid the heat, which you'll get no complaints from me on the weather. I feel with a little motivation this Place could be soo much better, but they just don't seem care. Many people have agreed with me that this place has gone downhill, which is a shame. Well, I'm done with my book I hope this helps if you're coming here and need to use the restrooms or the showers, BOB = beware of bugs. read more

This weekend we stayed at Panguitch lake resort. This was our second time staying at the cabins they have there. The ones closest to the office. This time we stayed in cabin 606. I don't recall the one we had last time 2019. Check in is at 3 we got there early at 11 am and were able to get us into the cabins by 1 pm. The people the night before broke the mirror in the bed room. So they didn't have time to replace it. Also the drain was clogged so the maintenance man had to come tend to that while we unpacked. While he was there I asked about if the cabins had Air conditioning. I already had a strong feeling that there was not any air-conditioning in the cabins. But I thought I'd ask him to see if maybe we were wrong because there is a unit and it does have a hot and cold setting and the maintenance man said yes there should be air-conditioning I will look at it when I'm done unclogging the drain. He had to go get some thing from the office and came back and told me that there was no air-conditioning which already had a strong feeling there wasn't. note is that my boyfriend and I live in Henderson Nevada and we decided to go to Panguitch Lake the weekend after Fourth of July weekend which has been a record-setting heatwave in Las Vegas.bad timing for us to try and get relief. The cabins are very hot. Even with the windows open. We went back to PLR because they are "pet friendly"". So in 2019 we rented a cabin for one day and one night and left the dogs in the cabin while we were on the boat. We thought that it would be the same situation but didn't put into account that the temperature was significantly different this year. There is no air-conditioning or ventilation except for two ceiling fans in the cabin. ( lucky I brought a small table time fan. Which didn't help at the hottest part of the day) I have a small black and tan wiener dog and a small brown and tan corgi and when we return from the boat they were both panting heavily and definitely in distress from the temperature inside the cabin. In each of the cabins next to us there were dogs and I could hear the dogs crying and see them panting from the other cabins. This made me very upset. I understand that this is supposed to be a fishing cabin and it supposed to be very simple. But I think these cabins need to be updated in some kind of air conditioning system even if it was a system to put in the window for situations like this because you can't call yourself pet friendly if you can't appropriately accommodate animals in a humane way. They have a washing machine and dryer -a microwave that doesn't work-some kind of surroundsound speaker system that we could never figure out -they also have a heating system -all those things can be taken out because they're all useless and you could put an air conditioner in there. we never used any of those things I just mentioned. We really do enjoy our time up at PLR but for $600 It's Alittle much for not much. We purchased two nights in a cabin. 2 guest 2 pets Saturday was 195$ Sunday was 185$ 6 hours for a pontoon boat is 105$ Cleaning fee of: 45.60 And a dog fee of 20$ Which honestly we should've got back because I left that place in excellent condition. 602.12$. I wasn't going to make my dogs suffer we left Sunday morning we were expected to leave Monday morning. I think that the staff was somewhat accommodating. I felt like from the get go they kind of had some kind of attitude or we're just not open and friendly. They need to be more accommodating for their guests or more understanding for their guest. I feel like it's like you get what you get -you're in the middle of nowhere you can't really argue too much about it. I think some hospitality school might be in order for some of the staff because they were not friendly. When I went to check out I was checked out by the kid that help me every time before that(curly hair and glasses) he was not very friendly and he didn't ask me why I was leaving early -if there was anything they could do and he also did not say thank you when I left. I work customer service in a corprate setting. So I expected a lot when I'm on the other side. There's a whole other part of the story which I can't get into on yelp. We did invite other people on our trip and we brought Panguitch lake resort more money in -not just our money we had a whole Other family who came and stayed and put money into that establishment this weekend. Long story short is -I'm just saying to be more accommodating and welcoming. I didn't feel like Mike and his team were welcoming - were I can go in and say hey do you guys have a box fan or a fans that I can use in the cabin because it's very warm? I felt like if I was to go in there and ask for that but I'd be looked at funny -I live in the desert my house is A constant 78° or less I'm sorry that I came to the mountains to get relief from the heat and there wasn't any. Just got back from a few nights at this beautiful spot. We had a standard cabin for 2 of us. Not fancy, but just right. It was clean and had everything we needed. The only thing we brought was our coffee maker. We had read they have small 4 cup coffee makers and we love our morning coffee. They have a restaurant there. We didn't try it, but was pretty busy. Went out in the lake one day with a pontoon rental boat. Ran great, no issues. We will be back next month! Tons of people from California and Las Vegas ! The word is out I guess read more

This RV "Resort" is anything but that. The spaces are very large and you are not on top of your neighbor. That is a plus. However, the spaces are gravel and rock and when the wind kicks up in the late morning it can get dusty. We spent 3 nights (bought 4 and left early) here and the winds were strong everyday. There is no buffer to stop it. No trees, no shrubs, nothing. There is WiFi at the main building, but not at your site. Cell service is confined to the main building as well. There is no TV service either (we have DISH thank God). There is a restaurant on site and a small general store area with minimal supplies. We did not use either. Unless you fish or have an ATV there is nothing to do here. Nothing! We left early, forfeiting 60 bucks for our remaining night and did so happily. This place is expensive and charges RV resort prices, but fails to deliver anything close to what their name suggests. read more

I've traveled here since I was young & these cabin have totally gone downhill! They have always been pretty pricey but not putting any money into these cabins. Our fireplace was broken, had only 1 pan, Our sliver wear and dishes all had food stuck on them. Also the outside of our cabin by the front door had broken glass, needle caps, and cigarette butts everywhere! Shocked me to see the place turn into such a mess. read more

TOTAL MISREPRESENATION! No Charming cabins- tired old mobile homes We booked our stay through Expedia, when we went to check in, Guy asked what fee we were quoted-so he would know what to charge us. I finally found it on my phone and he said "oh, next time don't go through Expedia and I can save you $25.00". Real nice- cut out the business that is trying to help your business! This establishment deserves to go out of business. It was touted to be just outside Bryce Canyon- 50 minute drive on a long dark road at night. Covered with sheep during the day! They also said they are lake cabins- they are OLD mobile homes that could be cleaner and nicer. Now in reading the reviews I see many things that I overlooked BECAUSE I LEFT. I would not stay there! When I returned the key to Guy- he said he couldn't refund any of my money because he turned people away for the weekend! I was there on Wednesday for 1 night- how that affected his weekend is beyond me. This is NOT a nice place, forget any kind of charm. I did notice there were some decent reviews but they seem to be from 2 years ago. We went to the entrance to Bryce Canyon to a new Best Western and got a 2 room King Suite with kitchen and dining table and a fabulous spa bath for $29.00 more a night. It was right on the shuttle service into the park. Fabulous room! Absolutely no comparison to that dump he calls a Lake Adventure Resort! I don't like walking away from $200.00 but in this case the decision was instant I could not stay there and feel safe. read more

The accommodations are modest and somewhat rough, so it's like luxury camping, however the cabins were absolutely filthy and poorly stocked for the four people that were staying in each cabin we reserved. Missing towels, cups and we had to sweep up and clean things ourselves, amassing piles of dirt to dump ourselves. There is a housekeeping service, but I'm really not sure what they actually do. The staff has that Midwest cheer, but when we brought some of these issues to their attention, we were questioned multiple times and asked if we were sure we'd really checked everywhere. Yes, we did. Instead of helping us out, they gave us cups and sent us looking for their housekeeping service that was working out of a van somewhere on the grounds to ask for things ourselves. It was really strange. I've never been treated that way when staying as a guest anywhere before. There is wifi, however, it's only usable when you stand near the clubhouse/restaurant that closes down extremely early. If you want to pay the extremely high price to get a little bit of work done or check in with family, prepare yourself for standing out in the freezing cold or heat. Another couple here showed up and housekeeping cleaned the wrong cabin so they now have to wait for their cabin to be "cleaned" but were only offered free ice cream for their trouble but couldn't use the bathrooms in the clubhouse/restraunt because you have to pay for something inside. The fishing is great, the marina and the people the helped us there have been excellent and the cabins themselves, though old and a bit worn, are quiet nice, just in need of actual cleaning. I recommend bringing your own food, cleaning supplies, towels, dishes, etc because you'll probably end up missing some and the staff here will send you running around all over trying to find the basic necessities while you spend your vacation. In fact, might as well just bring your rv and skip the cabins altogether. read more

We stayed in a lake front cabin in early August and it was amazing. The cabin was small, but it had all the amenities my family of 6 needed. I'm not sure if I went in with lower expectations but it definitely exceeded them. Let me tell you it isn't a 4 seasons but your in the middle of a national forest and to be honest you should feel lucky to have running water and electricity. The cabin was very modern and like I said before it had all we needed. Cell reception is almost non-exciting but who cares, My kids were happy to have our full attention. And secretly It felt good to be free of all technology. This place is an awesome place for family's to enjoy nature and each other can't wait to return. read more

we booked 5 nights on-line to stay in cabins. I didn't notice on my receipt that they had us switching cabins 2 times in 5 nights so we left a day early. The good news is that even though they weren't apologetic for this and the manager seemed very confused when it came time to switch cabins, they didn't charge us for canceling a night. The cabins were very clean and cute. Each one is different but the 2 that we stayed in had a small washer/dryer, microwave, oven and coffee maker but take your own coffee filters and paper towels. They had mostly everything you Need to cook and there were clean towels, extra sheets, etc. Make sure you take all of the food that you need as the nearest real store is approx 20 miles and nothing is open on Sundays!! The best part was no Internet, cell coverage or tv AND they are very dog friendly! My suggestion would be to call when making reservations instead of using the on-line service. read more

Came all the way from California and stayed here for 2 days with my family. Great customer service and great place. The nature is amazing and really breathtaking! The cabins are also great, they have a fire place, lodge, washer, and a dryer.The towels were slightly rough though but wasn't too bothersome. They also have wifi but it costs $8.80 for a day. I wish they had curtains for the windows up at the lodge, kind of felt weird people looking at me across and something to cover the front door. I was with my parents in 1959 and early 60's when we visited Panquitch Lake. We stayed at 3 different cabins. One was very rustic on the lake side just as you entered the area where the cabins and lodge were located at that time. I do have some pictures and will post them when I can find them. I have good memories of our time there and the fishing. I caught a Kokanee Salmon and my dad was thrilled. The people that ran the lodge were very nice. The manager had a jeep and would give us a ride. We would hide under the cattle guards as the cars would pass over. My dad was from Montana and we were living in southern California. He enjoyed fishing in the high altitude and cold waters of Panquitch. My dad had a heart attack in the mid 60's and could not go the high altitude any longer. We have stayed at this place several times. A few times in a cabin and now in the motorhome. It recently has taken new ownership and its better than ever! We love it here. Panguitch Lake Adventure Resort is the greatest family-friendly, resort with the best staff and great customer service. Jim, Veronica and Guy are always eager to accommodate our needs with prompt and courteous attention. The boat helpers, Alex and Brian are so helpful to carry your equipment and assist you with the boats, pontoon and 14' aluminum boats. Last year I made 6 trips in 2016 and each one was filled with so many memorable times. We had so much fun catching Rainbow trout, and if you're lucky you might hook up to a Cutthroat or Tiger trout! The best fishing ever!!! We have already returned twice since May 2017, and have many more trips planned! I definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a great get-away to fish, hike, camp or just enjoy the beautiful sunsets! read more

What a difference a year makes - very sad. I would have given one star since my review is on the boat rentals, but I wanted to let everyone know that the resort is very clean with the bathrooms, playarea for the kids, cabins and RV areas. The marina was closed do to low water levels so you had to walk to the shore which you were able to drive your car and board the boats. We rented a pontoon boat with a partial cover. We were told which one we would be using. The boat didn't have a back on the seat and the bottom of the seat was torn with the stuffing coming out. There was a gas can and a jacket in the boat. Also, there was fish hooks stuck in the rope that holds the anchor which we would get poked. When we brought this to the Managers attention he responded "It is a fishing boat, what do you expect?". He was a complete jerk with his attitude.The other boat had a fishing pole in it and bait so both boats looked like they were being used. They removed the items and we were sent on our way. After we leave the shore and get to our area we wanted to fish we go to throw the anchor and the anchor in the front of the boat is broken-only having two parts of it instead of three which was causing an issue trying to get the anchor to stick in the ground. We were out there on the lake when a big cell hit with wind and rain - the anchor lifted and the boat would not start and we ended up almost in the rocks on the shore. We were prepared with the oars, but it was very scarry and by this time we were so done with the whole thing. When we got back there was no one to greet us and help us dock the boat. When we came in to the shop the customer service was terrible - there was no "did you catch any fish or how did you like it" NOTHING! We cancelled our reservations for two days later and booked up the street. I am surprised there is not anyone that inspects these boats. Last year was such a different experience. On a positive note if this didn't happen we wouldn't have found the place we rented and will rent on future trips. Side note: We are experienced boaters. read more

Was looking forward to our stay here, what a disappointment RV spots were nothing but rock not a tree in sight. We had to snatch a table (it was broken) for our site a lot of sights had no table. you had to hike to the dumpsters just to throw away trash, the bathrooms and showers were awful, we walked to the restaurant to have a dinner I called they said they close at 6:30 got there at 5 CLOSED they said they only had 10 tables so they closed. We rented a pontoon boat 200 bucks for 7 hours brand new boat could have held 8-10 people yet only had 3 life preservers no labeling of location, no fire extinguisher. The boat stalled 11 times had to be primed 7 times. You had to step outside the railing one foot on a plate hold on to the boat bend down and squeeze the bulb. I could see someone who was not sure footed go for a swim, or just float till someone came to help you. We only stayed out 3 hours Got tired of messing with it. Bottom line this place is anything but a "Resort". For 60 plus bucks a night not worth it. Facility name is actually Panguitch Lake Adventure Resort. Do not book a reservation here unless you are fully aware of the facilities and are okay with them. Do not rely on their website for accurate information. They do not have cellular service or cable TV hook-up. Their internet access costs $8.75 per day and is so slow it buffers most the time while you are online so don't plan on streaming a movie or TV. I booked an RV space 2 months in advance based on the information provided on their website, www.rvfish.com. We arrived just after 5:30 PM on 9/10/15 for a 3 night stay. I was tired and didn't want to cook but the check-in guy said the restaurant just closed (even though the website said open until 8 PM) but that the pizza shack was open so if we wanted one, he could "run over" and cook one. I declined because we did not want a frozen pizza. The beautiful site plan on the website shows multiple bathroom buildings but when we got there we learned half the site is still being built/renovated so only one bathroom building with 3 showers total for both men and women. They issued us a space about as far away from the bathroom as we could get and it had not been improved with gravel like some other spaces and it was full of sticker bushes so my dogs could not walk around our campsite. We were parked next to a drunk guy with a large dog who was not leashed and kept rushing at my two dogs. The next morning we complained and asked to be moved to a new gravel space near the restrooms. Since we had to pack up the RV and bring in the slide-out, we took the opportunity to drive up the street to the local general store before setting up our campsite a second time. The public shower had plenty of hot water and an ample shower spray but the building is not heated so very cold to get out of the shower. Also had a slippery shower floor so beware if traveling with the elderly. I took a total of 3 showers while there and the trash can began full on the first night and was never emptied. They never cleaned the bathrooms and there were dead moths in and around the shower stall. The next day we rented a pontoon boat and were surprised to learn that the drunk guy we had been parked next to the previous night was an employee there! He showed us to the boat, which was filthy, full of other people's trash, and had ripped up seats. 2 out of 4 life vests provided were so dried up they wouldn't even float. The lake was full of weeds that kept getting caught around the boat propeller so we couldn't go more than 10 mph. Three people fished and one person caught a beautiful, good-sized rainbow trout. The boat was NOT worth the $114 paid for half-day rental. When coming off the lake at 5:00, we tried to go to the restaurant again but it was closed, although my husband had seen employees eating in there earlier in the day. The office staff said we could drive a mile up the road to eat at a local restaurant but that's not much of an option when you don't have a separate car and must completely pack up your campsite. Again we were offered a frozen pizza. It wasn't until we woke up the second morning and tried the restaurant again that the office worker finally said the restaurant had closed "for the season" because the waitress ran off with the head maintenance man and they had to fire the cook. I told him I did not bring enough food to cook 3 meals a day for 2-1/2 days because their website said they had a restaurant. I was told "it costs money to update the website" and we could drive up the street to eat. It was at that point we decided not to stay the third night and I asked them to refund me for the night since they misrepresented their facilities. Of course I was told no refund so we left and forfeited the $40. We will not stay here again. read more

Stayed here for a week during early October 2021 , we rented their deluxe cabin that sleeps 6. Just a short walk from the lake to go fishing was a plus . Mountain View's and tall pine trees as far as the eye can see are a plus as well.This is we're it all stops , the cabin first of all did not sleep 6 as advertised , their was a full size bed in back of the cabin in a separate bedroom , a pull out futon bed in the living room , and a loft which could sleep two more adults or children , had their been mattresses or even cots to sleep on , if they were provided . The cabin has a small kitchenette ,with a stove , sink and microwave oven , if you plan on staying connected to family or friends , don't count on it , the internet service provided is less than sub par , the cabin require a little more attention in the house keeping dept as well , dust and cobwebs in various corners and on walls and fixtures show that the cleaning staff need to spend a little more time cleaning . In short ,will I return to this location , probably not , unless I bring my own travel trailer,so I know I actually have a place for my guest to sleep . read more

Hubby and I spent three days here from 8/25-8/28/13. First I want to say I get it is a cabin and since it is a cabin your level of expectation should be average, but since they do advertise as a resort there are certain things I feel should be addressed. 1) to provide a 10 inch TV set and because of that you say the cabin is "deluxe" I feel is way over board. 2) the towels were a problem, again I get it is a cabin and I don't expect maid service in a cabin but you could provide towels that were a bit softer, for god sake it was like drying off with sand paper. 3) the shower was a joke, for one my hubby and I are 5'7 and 5'8 respectively and by no means are we giants but I think it is lame that we had to practically squat down to get water flow in that shower, also investing in some CLR to remove the bad calcium build up so the shower head can properly spray would be a great idea. 4) the furniture in that cabin is on its last leg, the bed had a dip in the middle that we kept rolling in to, the mattress was old and very worn, the sofa was sunken in and the pull out bed for the sofa was broken. we found that little nugget out when we opened the sofa bed up thinking it might be more comfortable then the actual bed and when we tried to lay down my hubby fell right through. the small end table was on the verge of collapse as well. 5) smoke alarms were removed which kind of concerned both of us, they had removed the batteries and the front covers but left the base attached to the ceilings, and all the outlets in the living area were hanging out of the walls, and that is a fire hazard waiting to happen so with out smoke alarms you just might be in trouble if a fire did break out. Now with all this said we did enjoy the lake, we did enjoy our stay, and we had no issues renting a boat and did so for two of the days we stayed. the only thing I can suggest is that if you do plan on a visit take my information to heart and maybe bring and air mattress and nice towels since they do provide a washer and dryer in the cabin you could take care of your linen yourself. also bring soap for the washer as they didn't provide any. lastly I want to stress I did find the staff very friendly but I felt that Jim did have the "it is a cabin so what do you expect" attitude. he explained to my hubby and I that so many people want everything and forget they are in a cabin. and he also said that he wished the owner would cut back on the already offered amenities to which I feel if they were to do so their prices would have to come down and the word resort would need to be removed from the name. again with all this said we would go back, it was quite and peaceful, we caught a lot of fish, and the accommodations were okay, but next time I will bring a lot more of my own things including my aero bed so I can sleep more comfortably so I don't wake up with a backache. read more

I spent 7 days up at Panguitch towards the end of August. I'm from Vegas and desperately needed to get out of the heat. Panguitch Lake and the surrounding area offers gorgeous scenery, near perfect temperatures, and some pretty awesome fishing. In order to fit my schoolteacher budget, I stayed for the first three nights at the state campground a half mile from the resort. Nice little campground, will do it again next summer. I can only sustain myself in my rig for 3 days without hookups so I hitched back up and checked into the resort. The staff is very friendly and eager to assist. The RV spaces are well maintained, level, and easy to back in to (I'm terrible with that). I usually travel solo, so if my rig is easy to park in a large space, I'm pretty happy. I had also brought my 12ft jon boat and needed a slip at the marina. $15/day isn't' too bad in my opinion. The college guys that worked the marina were super friendly and offered tips for good spots, baits, and methods for catching more fish. My boat isn't good for rough water and there was some chop on the lake a couple of the days, so I rented a 14ft boat for the morning shift twice. These boats get the job done for a fair price, but I would like to see some newer ones available with some faster motors. When you are limited on time because of a rental, being able to get from one spot to another quickly is of benefit. Didn't bother with a pontoon as I was solo. But those look nice too. My original plan was to stay at the resort for two nights, but I ended up extending to four nights because I was having so much fun. The cabins at the resort look very nice but I didn't go inside any of them. I have two dogs and wasn't hassled about them at all (they are well behaved though). I ate breakfast in the restaurant twice and lunch once. Food was good and service was nice as well. My waiter is actually a substitute teacher and Vegas resident that brings his family to the resort for the summer to get away from the heat. Was able to hook up to wifi but "suggestive sites" are blocked!!! hahah. Felt like I was back at work when I got the "SITE BLOCKED" message.Figures in Utah. No biggie. Cell phones barely get service. The resort has a signal booster at the front desk, so you can use your phone there, but anywhere else in the resort, or in the Panguitch Lake area, forget it. I did find a hot spot in front of a big gate that leads to a ranch field of some sort. There is a dirt turnoff on the main road about .2 miles south outside the resort. Worked for Verizon. Below are my only suggestions for the resort. They are only suggestions and while I would like to see these things, the resort is pretty awesome already. -area for dogs (there are patches of grass, but all have signs stating "Dog-Free". Designate a dog area please! - marina improvement. the docks work, but are quite narrow - a little scary -concrete boat launch -upgrade rental boats Everything else is fantastic. read more

My first visit to Panguitch Lake Resort was last August. Loved it. I've been back 6 times since. I'm coming from Los Angeles. Staff is great ... easy to talk to. The boys who take care of the boats are great.....I tip them alot....they deserve it. Cabins are clean. I'll be back 4 more times this year. read more

Great little place outside of town. New cabins with all you need to set up house. This would be a good headquarters for a tour of the national parks. We stayed here when it was too cold to camp and it was toasty warm. read more

Have always loved going to Panguitch Lake, as we have a cabin nearby. Today we decided to try the "restaurant" at the adventure resort... bad idea. We walked in and were not greeted. I asked if this was in fact the restaurant and the waitress said yes and to sit anywhere. So we chose a table facing the water, which was the only good part about the experience. The woman serving our food was wearing gloves when we came in- and never took them off at any time while we were there. She was taking money, serving food, preparing food, cleaning tables, etc. I thought she might change them at some point but never did. The food might have been okay, but I was beyond disgusted. Never got a refill on drinks. Our waitress did ask if we wanted dessert, to which we quickly said "no!". Gross. That's the only word I can think of to describe the place... hopefully they take a food handlers class before someone gets sick. read more

I have been going up to Panguitch Lake for the past 5 years to fish. I've stayed at Panguitch Lake Resort for 4/5 years I've been going. This is such a cool little resort. They have had an evolving staff which seems to get better every year. Their cabins are also well maintained. I've had a problem in the cabin once with the shower drain draining and when I complained about it to the frontdesk, they had a maintenance person come and fix it in under 20 minutes. Great service! I also rented their pontoons during my stay and have nothing but good things to say. The boat boys are very helpful with loading and unloading our boat as well as helping us dock and undock. After an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience this morning at the Panguitch Lake Resort, we will not be giving them our business ever again! We have owned property in Brian Head since 1998 and have enjoyed many weekends fishing at Panguitch Lake. Several times a summer, we have always rented a pontoon boat from the Panguitch Lake Resort. After making recent reservations a month in advance and even double checking two days prior to the actual rental date to confirm and being assured that all was good to go, we showed up expecting a boat rental. We were rudely told that we had lost our boat reservation because we did not show up on time and that because they did not have our credit card number they gave our boat away. Twice they had the chance to do what businesses are supposed to do when taking reservations for something and take a cc #. Even though the very arrogant and indifferent manager argued that he has done things the same way for 6 years and always tells his customers that they must pick their boat up by 7:30 am or else they lose their boat, that was never conveyed either time we contacted the resort in person. They had our name written down for a reservation but regrettably neglected to do THEIR job and take our cc# to hold. The manager handled the situation poorly and did not even attempt to take any responsibility for their screw up! Proper customer service would have saved him our business in the future. Our business will now be taken to Bear Paw Fishing Resort just down the road where we were treated wonderfully and professionally. Went with 25 kids to a camping function at the Panguitch Lake National Park about 1/2 mile from this resort. The kids would walk back and forth to the store at this place all day long. I took a couple of my kids down to the resort and asked if we could pay for showers, and the manager/owner lost his mind and said in a totally abrupt and offensive voice "this aint the Natioanl Forest and the showers are only for customers staying at the resort", then started walking away. I again said that I knew it wasnt the national forest and wanted to pay for the showers and then he got even angrier and said "you were the one who chose to stay at the National Forest Campsites instead of here". I then asked for the manager because this guy was offensive, rude and nasty. He then said "I am the manager and owner and get the hell off my property" You sir are a Jerk !! I would have understood if he would have explained it to me politely but no...... We ended up going to Bear Paw Resort just down the road and was greeted by Joe the owner who was a super nice person. We paid for our showers and even rented a pontoon boat from Joe. You can bet that I will never go to Panguich Lake Resort for anything ever again! read more
