I had the bacon and apple pancake while my husband tried a savory everything pancake. His was scrumptious and I wished I had ordered his after trying a bite. The sauces they offer are both sweet and savory and depending on the type of pancake you got they were deceivingly delicious. You could also enjoy soups, salads, and some other savory dishes. So, there was a little something for everyone. We visited this restaurant over a year ago and vowed that we'd be back with our swim team and we were able to make it happen. I would highly suggest going here if you are in the area. If the weather is nice there's great play equipment outside for the kiddos.

The pancakes were quite tasty and enormous, the size of a large plate. Have been here twice and first time had a savory pancake with bacon and cheese which was good but would not recommend as a sole meal, maybe to share for a table as they are pretty heavy and a lil greasy. But the regular pancakes with cream and strawberries were absolutely delicious! Also have had the vegetable soup which was really nice but maybe lacking a bit of salt. There is a small market next door with some produce and home baked goods for a lil shopping.

When we arrived and hiked upstairs, yes it's a hike straight up steep stairs, only to see the sign "fully booked" womp womp. HOWEVER, we asked if there was a waiting list because we didn't realize reservations are basically necessary. WE GOT LUCKY as a table was available because someone didn't show for their reservations!! We ordered the special of the day, blueberry & cream, and a bacon, cheese and apple pancake. Quickly cooked up and served and boy were they both delicious! I also didn't know it was a cash only establishment or debit card. Whom I presume was the owner was so sweet and again luckily our US credit card could be processed as debit. Saved me from having to do dish duty! Definitely a must do in Amsterdam but make a reservation and carry cash! Also to note, they only have 4 tables and if you're more than 5 minutes late for your reservation they may have given away your table!

That said . . . the food is delicious (from my last visit), and it's such a cute, unique little spot. They're known for having just 4 tables and a 12-person max, which makes it feel super intimate and cozy. Definitely worth checking out if you get the chance . . . just skip it if you have a nut allergy!

The goat cheese came on the center of the Dutch pancake and the cheese was toasted which made it extremely delicious, warm, and even more appetising. This was attention to detail that boosted the whole dish. Good on the chef for taking this small but impactful step. After the first bite of the pancake and warm goat cheese, I just got that rare eatery experience of feeling that I was being taken care of. Pancakes Amsterdam also serves gluten-free and lactose-free options! I'm so glad Yelp.com brought this place up as a breakfast of choice. I would love to come back! SERVICE Attentive and helpful service by Jaimy who was a pleasure to deal with. One thing that stood out was that when I mentioned how good the pancake was, Jaimy offered to pass this compliment on to the chef which I appreciated! AMBIANCE Easy viewing into the kitchen which tells me how proud Pancakes Amsterdam is of their staff and process. It speaks of integrity. Also, the upstairs seating area is a wonderland of activity for kids! What a beautiful business idea to bring your family, enjoy time over some pancakes, and watch your kids play!
