I LOVE a great PIZZZZZA! Plain & simple, toppings aside, a great pizza comes down to da dough and da sauce! I count several pizza joints on my fav list but even the chain store experience seems to vary by location. If you're in the East York area of O'Connor Drive and Bermondsey Rd, do drop into Papa John's. My carryout choice was an extra large well done baked The Works loaded with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, spicy Italian sausage, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, black olives, and mozzarella cheese. Customer service was friendly and my order was ready on-time. Oh my! My pizza selection was delicious and the crust...they nailed it!

Very little pepperoni on the pepperoni pizza and the boneless wings are as small as KFC popcorn chicken. Very disappointed.

There were some seating outside but it was only the one table for two people. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The only downfall was that they ran out of meat sauce so the lasagna was out of the question but they made up for it in the pizza flavours. The menu is pretty straightforward; they offer multiple types of pizza ranging from classic meat lovers to unique ones like smoked salmon or tandoori chicken. I ended up ordering the four cheese because I was in a cheesy mood. The pizza was amazing. The crust had a nice puff up but was not so crunch that it would cut the roof of your mouth. The sauce-to-dough ratio was perfect, and neither ingredient overpowered the other. The cheeses they used (Ricotta, Feta, Bocconcini and cream cheese) didn't clash with each other, and it just seemed to be a slice of cheesy goodness with every bite. The pizza was not greasy, so no mountain of napkins was needed. A must-try if your into pizza and like my nannu says in Sicilian "Veni e pigghiati 'u divertimentu" (Come and enjoy it already).

We probably made a mistake when ordering 2 large half and half pizzas as this turned out to be a very pricey pizza dinner (over $80!!) but that's not the restaurant's fault. We'll just be more mindful next time. The pizzas were good and I loved the freshness of the toppings. Unfortunately, I did not love their crust as it was too chewy for my liking. The chicken wings we got was pretty heavily breaded which is also not my favorite way to eat them. We may come back to try their more adventurous offerings.

The puffed up edge crust with dark charred blisters - excites me. We got (delivery): # Margherita: Classic and great! But I thought this one is best enjoyed immediately out of oven because of the simple fresh ingredients. Next time! # Smoked Meat: This one is SOOO GOOD. The generous and perfect amount of meet. Caramelised onions are thickly cut, tender and naturally sweet, but miraculously leaving some tender-crunch in the middle. Espresso aioli and parsley emulsion (sauce) were added depth to flavour. Chili flakes completes the whole. Super well balanced, so good so good!! # Speck baffala: Super savory. Intensely rich sun-dried tomato paste meeting silky cheese based sauce and pistachio pesto. Tender crispy- roast-y eggplant pieces give it a nice aroma. Fresh cheese. Fine taralli (cracker) crumble are scattered over it, when baked, give the pizza a flaky texture to it.... overwhelmingly (in a super good way) rich and again, very well balanced. Highly highly recommend! I am so lucky to work close from here. I am addicted. I want to try all the pizzas they have~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!

The toppings were packed with flavour, and every slice was delicious. The service was quick, so we didn't have to wait long for our food. The space is on the smaller side, so seating can be a bit limited, but we were still able to find a spot without any issues. The portions were generous too. We had a few slices left over to take home, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a really tasty pizza and a spot I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Nice crust with a good chew. Good amount of toppings. Really solid New York style pizza. Dave Portnoys pizza review went to their downtown location and gave it a 8.4 if you follow him. There was no parking on Avenue but I found some parking on the residential street just North of the restaurant. The inside is really nice with comfy seating. Not a ton of seating but I think they get a lot of takeout. Service was good but I did have to wait more than the 20 mins they said as they seemed to be dealing with online orders.

The space itself is fairly small with a few 2 seater tables, a large bench which is shared by several guest and a bar table space. The service was super friendly but it did take a bit of time for the food to come out. It is quite a popular place so you could see a lot of people were ordering take out. In terms of the pizza, the dough was fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. We got the Electric Avenue and Truff Guy which were both tasty but to be honest, I wasn't blown away. Maybe my expectation was set a bit high from previous raving reviews. Toppings tasted good but nothing spectacular. It's also a bit on the pricier side considering the size of the pizza. I totally get why it's a Toronto favourite, but I can't say it's my favourite pizza place.
