The Margherita pizzas arrived first, then while my friends were halfway through eating, the Selma came out. By the time everyone else had finished, they finally brought my SkyKing pizza -- but then told me it was cooked wrong and said they'd make another one while I ate that one. At that point, I had already been waiting the whole time and didn't even really know what I ended up eating. The waitress was very nice and polite, but unfortunately that didn't make up for the overall experience. As for the food, the SkyKing pizza wasn't anything special and was quite greasy. The crust was inconsistent too -- the "wrong" one was burnt, and the replacement was undercooked, doughy, and chewy. On a positive note, I did enjoy my coconut cocktail and The environment was really nice, with a pretty outdoor seating area and even a space for kids to play. Because I'm fancy, I poured myself a glass of cabernet sauvignon. Because I'm not classy, I left the pizza in the box rather than put it on a plate. At first appearance, my bbbq chicken pizza wasn't that large. This isn't a large meat-lover's from Domino's. This is artisan pie. The crust was fluffy, interesting in texture and flavorful (on its own) in taste. The pie, while small, was packed with flavor. I could tell these were choice ingredients I was eating. It was a bbq pizza so that means a bbq sauce base -- but to the bbq, cilantro was a present (not dominant) ingredient. It made each bite unique. This was not your usual bbq chicken pizza. Atop the sauce was a gouda/mozzarella blend that perfectly suited the sauce. Honestly, the pizza would have been good just like that. The marinated chicken (seasoned, not dry), bacon and onions added to the new spin on an old favorite. I enjoyed every bite. The fatty inside me wanted more but I can understand the restraint inherent within 'artisan.' That said, I wouldn't turn down a bigger pie. Like I said: classy.
