We order from here quite often. It's close and easy. However, it seems the quality has been dropping in their food. 1st, we have to order our pizza well done otherwise it's really undercooked (raw even) and 2nd, we order the Garlic parm stuffed crust and this time, the garlic sauce was slathered all over the place. 3rd, we order the Oreo Bites and it seems they have been using less and less icing along with them. And this time we ordered, ther was NO icing at all. I tried placing a feedback on their site about this, but of course the order number that is needed to post was not on the label where it should be. On today, March 27 around 7:30pm, I saw an employee, assuming a manager smoking a cigarette outdoors and on his cell phone. Around 2 minutes later, while waiting for my order, this same guy walked in and begin preparing a pizza without washing his hands. Minutes later he begins eating from a dish of food which appeared to be some sort of leftovers from his home and go back to preparing food. This is gross!!!! read more

This place is ridiculous! I spoke yo the manager named "patty" whom took my order as a delivery 13min away and then decided today out of the 4 times I have ordered to tell me that my address is not deliverable. Last night I ordered a medium sized pepperoni pizza and received a cheese pizza. Once I called the store to request a corrected pizza, i was told i will not receive a credit or a corrected pizza without showing my receipt in person. My receipt clearly says pepperoni. It took me about 7 minutes to arrive at the store. Once I arrived, I was told by a manager I can not receive a new pizza without returning the old one although I provided my receipt. Please avoid this store until they receive new management and the employees are properly training on customer service. It is not worth it. read more

I was able to hold out 1 year from ordering from Papa Johns Zebulon due to the negative reviews. I caved tonight- I called and said "I'd like a medium cheese, medium pepp and cheese sticks please" He says " you want the pick 6". Whatever that is I say "if that is what I ordered". This Papa John's store has been a long time needing quality improvement in orders being completed timely and correctly. Time after time my family has ordered the same pizza order and yet they make and have the incorrect pizza delivered to us and better yet not even make side items that you ordered online and say they didn't see it on the order, causing me to call Online order center (That's a WHOLE joke in itself, those call centers have NO idea what we are even calling about)....so in the end my family orders a family meal, gets 1/2 or the wring order and the Manager Chris and the Zebulon store basically says oh well sorry We'll make it and send it out when the driver comes back (what I already waited 56 mins for the wrong order to get to me....and my family now has to wait until I cause the Only driver returns to the store to bring 1/2 of the correct order out to me an hour later!!!! I love eating here and the food is great. However, the staff, not so much. 9 people working when I walked in. It was an argument amongst them who was going to give me my already paid for pizza off the warming rack... only took 10 minutes. No one spoke to me, no one asked me if I'd already ordered, nothing. When I was finally helped she seemed like I was an inconvenience, and I'm pretty sure I was since she was a delivery driver and was trying to leave. I'm not going to be that guy but I work at this location and so do I a lot of young people that this is there first job. So if a customer has a problem of any sort they are all told to just get a manager that can help. If any manager tells you that they can only do so much there not just saying that for giggles and I a lot of times people and say they have been waiting for a hour and it's only really been like 30-35 minutes. As you enter this strip-mall Papa John's, you'll be greeted with aromatic mix of pepperoni and old-building smell. Yes, it's a charmingly old facility. The cashier here works the register with a full-body laziness that is so "je ne sais quoi" it can only be described as an art form. As he saunters over to the front counter, he gives me a sleepy-eyed greeting, no words exchange, as if to say, "Well, you just saw I just walked over to the register". Our connection so telepathic, Crossing Over's host and expert medium John Edwards would be amazed. I say to him that I would like to place an order for some pizza. Amazingly again, the cashier speaks without speaking. With a short nod and a slow blink, he mouths the word, "Okay". In my twenty-nine years of experiencing dinning-out I have not ever been assisted with communication between a maitre'd and customer that is so sync'd we be labeled twins if not for our grand differences in appearance. He stares at me for close to a minute before realizing that I do not yet know what I want, possibly he shows that he does not wish to rush me, his only customer, or possibly that he does not see many Papa John's customers ponder how to order a Papa John's pizza. He snaps to, as slowly as a snap can be, to assist. I'll never forget his valiant act of customer service as he raises his limp left arm laterally and gestures with his hand, which forms an almost-full-point but sort of a noncommittal-closed-fist and a half-uncurled pointer-finger looking as though he is holding an imaginary pistol sideways. Except, he did not hold this pose for long. While his arm and claw-like grip float back down to his side, he elegantly mutters, "Specials are on the board". Specials are on the board indeed. I realized then his gesture is to a dry-erase board that hangs a few meters away and is cluttered with barely legible handwritten notations, though it is quite evident "pizza" is written multiple times. Ignoring that colloquial handwriting, I return my gaze to the print on the lighted menu overhead. Though I'll never forget this close encounter with the Papa John's staff, I race to order what will be two of the most delicious pies in my life, cheese and their signature offering, The Works. Our transaction finalizes without a hitch and I walk out into the night with two steaming boxes of oven-cooked pizza. I beg you, delay no further and make the Papa John's in Zebulon North Carolina the next destination on your gastronomic bucket list.
