A Treasure in the Suburbs…read more I believe that we should take advantage of the rich resources where we live - and because Boston is known for its fine culture, outstanding universities, state of the art medical facilities and innovative dental procedures, I have always opted for doctors and dentists (and shopping excursions!) in the city. That changed when a Boston dentist referred me to Dr. Mario Gatti. I learned the hard way that a general dentist is not the one to go for a crown or implants because it is not something he does all day and does not have the extra training needed to become Board Certified. I was also told that Dr. Gatti specialized in implants as well so I decided to give it a shot. I called Dr. Gatti, at his office in Natick, Chang Dental Group and scheduled an appointment. From the moment I met Dr. Gatti, he made me feel extremely comfortable as he patiently listened to my complex dental history. He thoroughly discussed the various options he felt were appropriate and after much time and consideration, he suggested that I should go home and think about the options he had presented to me and he would put together a treatment plan that he felt would best meet my needs. He allowed me to take a deep breath and never put any pressure on me to make a decision. He also gave me his cell phone number and told me to get in touch with him at any time if I had additional questions or concerns as there was much information to digest. This in and of itself spoke volumes about his integrity and concern. I had brought my daughter with me as a second set of ears and he welcomed her questions and concerns. His professional demeanor was quite impressive as were the credentials on his wall. Board Certified Prosthodontist, Oral Surgeon, and Implant Specialist all wrapped up in one, plus the convenience of being in the suburbs and not having to drive back and forth to Boston gave me a lot to think about. We scheduled another appointment and I did take him up on his offer to address any concerns before that appointment. I can tell you that Dr. Gatti has a brilliant mind, hands of gold and a compassionate heart. His gentle technique and expertise in prosthodontics, surgical procedures and implants are second to none! His assistant, Pam, is an added bonus! I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Gatti and am so thrilled that I found him!

I have been coming to this dental practice for approx. 20 years (all the way back from when Dr…read more Bornstein used to own the practice). Approximately 1-2 years ago they started placing very strong air fresheners in the waiting area which subsequently wafted throughout the whole practice into the examination rooms (no doors). I have sensitivity to air fresheners and fragrances (even so called "natural ones") and every time I would come in here for an appointment I would get terrible headaches, nausea, itchy nose and throat. These air fresheners are extremely toxic (just do a search on the web or go to the American Lung Association's website: www.lung.org). When I requested that the doctor remove these air fresheners from the waiting room because of my health concerns (backed up by evidence) he refused. Dr. M did offer to walk me into the office through the back entrance to the (to avoid the waiting area), but given that there are no doors on these exam rooms & the air fresheners are so strong- the smell permeated the entire practice (so it was a futile gesture). Given the above situation I was facing, I knew I was going to have to leave Dr. M's practice after 20 years and go through the hassle of finding a new dentist (the only option I had because I was continually getting sick when I came here). When I finally found another practice nearby, the new practice only wanted my most recent bitewing x-rays emailed to them (not my entire chart). When I requested that Dr. M's office email over only my most recent bitewing X-rays, they kept insisting that I pay a $25 fee. Just to send one email with a few pics attached? I felt this fee was an obvious money-grab when the only reason I'm looking for a new dentist in the first place is because Dr. M would rather have the office smell "springtime fresh" (using phony & toxic chemicals) rather than concerning himself with the health & welfare of both his employees and patients -which should be any doctors first and foremost priority. After repeated emails (3) and stressful phone calls (2), the office ultimately did email my X-rays over to the new practice. However, I was (am) very disappointed that this practice treats their patients this way after years of loyal patronage (never owing them a dime in overdue bills). Shocked really. I will now only patronize doctors who put my health first (not aesthetics & pretty smelling waiting rooms).

She gave me 6 Veneers on my front teeth to correct my peg teeth, and I never thought I would ever smile confidently in my life until I got them. I've had multiple fillings and cleanings, and my sister has had many root canals with them, and my dad getting almost every dental procedure possible from them. The receptionist, Lisa, is incredibly accommodating and tries her best to get you the attention and help you need, especially when dealing with insurance companies. The office itself is quaint and comforting. I've been to some terrible dentists in my life, and I'm honestly terrified of what to do if Dr. Novak ever retires!!

I couldn't believe it. So, I went to AN ENDODONTIST-- paid out of pocket and was told that based on a thorough evaluation and x-rays, I did not need a root canal. I then went to another dentist and they too said, "there is no infection". Please get a second opinion before you agree to anything this doctor recommends. Recently I had an infection that he discovered (after I complained of pain) below a lower molar and unfortunately I needed an extraction. He examined the surgical site a month later and reassured that all healed very well and the spaceI should receive a new implant well. Despite taking care of my teeth in adulthood, I have had many issues. maybe because I grew up in the UK in an area without access to fluoridated water. Despite all this, my teeth look and feel good and my gums are healthy.

To be clear: I had already accepted responsibility for a prior cancellation fee connected to another appointment. This second situation was entirely reasonable and called for compromise. Their decision not to extend a simple waiver demonstrated that they prioritize a $25 fee over the well-being and loyalty of their regular clients.
