No any where I'll go again they do not respect people I was there over the weekend and we were a party of eight and they did not serve all of us food that we had ordered even to sit there. They charge us a bottle charge of $190. I tried to talk to them to get them to finish the order for the people for a party anyway and they kept saying it is in English. I told him I hope he understands I'm not paying for food that we didn't get, but they still charged us. They overcharged us a lot, is it a fun place to go to and enjoy yourself yes but I wouldn't recommend you eating there. The food is good is tasty. I should say somewhat but it's cold and it takes a long time for you to get anything and you're not consistent with when it's a big crowd. I've read some reviews work when it's not crowded they're really good so I don't know but do I recommend it no not not not to go eat it be careful with what you buy because they do to overcharge you for everything and they would not give me a itemized receipt, showing me what they charge me, for. First time going to Papas & Beer and I can see why it's so popular. Inside is a pretty open space with plenty of seating area. The music was pretty loud! We couldn't really talk to eachother. The drinks were good. I had an adios it was $7 American. The prices here are in US dollar and credit cards are accepted. It's cheaper to pay if you ask them to pay in pesos. My friend paid for a guy to lift me. I was impressed he lifted me sideways. I thought I was going to fall. In US dollars it would have been $10 but in pesos it was $7 US. Viva La Mexico When in Baja you might as well experience one of the trendiest bar restaurant brands around to see what all the hypes about! The music was blasting and the tequila was flowing when I walked in around 10am. Don Julio 70th anniversary shots $8 bucks (sign me up)! The Piña Colada's were served back to back without hesitation and before you knew it chicks (fellas as well) were getting turned upside down chugging tequila! #HashtagPartyCircus The food is mediocre. The beer is kinda high for Ensenada, but when going to Papas & Beer, you're not there to get a deal, you're going there for the entertainment. The staff is attentive and nice. I've been here a few times. For about $5USD per shot, you can get one the staff peeps to pour the shot in your or someone else's mouth. The staff then shakes the shot around in the mouth and tips you over until your upside down, then shakes you. This is something you have to experience if you're here. read more

It's all about the experience, right? We've been twice and both times, I leave thinking it's like a taste of spring break even though it was January and November. Talk about energy! Even if you didn't know about the place, the whistles and loud music would draw your attention. Handsome servers everywhere and a man, stronger than he appears, was the leader of the pack. He tequila-shot, shooked, rattled and rolled countless visitors during our time there. We ordered drinks and fries and seriously, the fries were the best I've had in a long time. PERFECT fries, in Mexico, at a party bar. Excellent. Our neighbors ordered the chips and guac and that in itself was like watching a show. The place was pretty dark, the food was just OK, but for 80 pesos we got a large sangria!! Also the best waiter EVER works there!!! I finally got to come here and see what the fuss is about and you know what its true!! We decided to take a cruise and spend the afternoon here and it was so much fun!! Its all drinking, dancing and a lot of shenanigans. The drinks are priced same as home due to their popularity which makes sense, they have food as well and the entertainment is great. Whether you've been to Ensenada or have heard about vacationers sailing there, the talk of the town (or cruise ship in our case) was Papas & Beer. It's a lively atmosphere mostly comprised of tourists and vacationers having a good time. We took a weekend cruise down to Ensenada and had an excursion planned ahead of time. After a walking tour, food class, and tequila tasting, we were pretty tired and intended to go back to the ship before departure time even though we still had a about 4 hours to spare. A couple on the bus at the end of our excursion convinced us to swing by Papas & Beer before we left. A great choice we made! Nothing fancy about this place, just a fun atmosphere of day drinkers having a great time to music and company. It's similar to a day party atmosphere equipped with energetic and fun bar hosts. They walk around blowing whistles, passing out shots and even bring people on a mini stage to flip them upside down. It's not the cleanest place, but what party bar is?! The staff was friendly, but be aware that while it seems that when you're selected (often not by choice) to go up for a shot and to be flipped upside down, they come back to you to charge you. I'd be nice to know that ahead of time instead of spending an extra $10 when you didn't plan it. Overall a fun atmosphere to kick off or end your Ensenada visit with! read more

He implied it was required. In Mexico, it is not required to give tip, but to imply it was required is a big red flag for me. It was fun. My boyfriend was hesitant about walking around Ensenada but, knew we had to take advantage of being there so, this was the only place he was really willing to go to. Especially since it was recommended by Carnival cruises. Left the ship and walked a few blocks into the town and easily found Papas and Beer. We were there fairly early and were one of the first couples there. We sat on the edge of the patio to enjoy the weather and local scenery. And by "scenery," I mean, all the street vendors coming up to our table to sell us things. We didn't really mind too much as it's really all part of the Papas and Beer experience. Ordered the shrimp ceviche, shrimp tacos, couple margaritas, and few tequila shots. Hey, "when in Mexico," right??!!! Ceviche was really tasty. You could tell that the shrimp was fresh and loved all the lime/citrus in there. Perfect for the hot weather on the patio. I went to use the bathroom and out of nowhere 4 security guards grab me and tell me I need to get out while they have my hand behind my back like if I'm getting arrested. My friend and girlfriend were still inside so I tried to tell them that but they didn't care about anything I had to say. I get no reception so I was outside for 30 minutes before they noticed I was taking too long to use the bathroom. I am unaware of what I did to get kicked out and nobody told me any reasons. For this reason I say you should be careful when using the bathroom alone because they will take you out and do god knows what to you. Good shots but don't stay too long or else they will start to lock their eyes on you and will go for the person that is most drunk. read more

Was there on 10/2/2022. Fresh off the carnival cruise ship. Ready for some food and fun. Order 31$ worth of food and the waiter comes to my table with a 45$ bill? Went on Thursday. Lots of locals. Some Cartel Princess got pissed because my friend took a selfie of himself and she thought she might be in the picture. My friend humbly apologized and assured the girl he had no problem whatsoever, and had zero Pics of her and wanted no issues or drama. She threatened him with death if we didn't leave in the next few minutes. Then after 2 minutes she said we had 1 minute left til we were dead. The staff heard all this and just ignored it. I have been a personal bodyguard and licensed security for 20 years and knew all the possible outcomes and figured we were going to end up in a bad situation if we stayed any longer. Total bummer because we are there for peace with all human beings and to enjoy a vacation with friends of over 30 years. Oh well.. we went to Hussongs and got VIP service. The obligatory bar to visit when taking a cruise to Mexico. It's a pretty cool spot, but it's most definitely a tourist trap. As soon as I came in with my group of 16, we were greeted by large men with whistles, carrying tequila bottles. They make sure someone pays them before they start their show. I won't give it away, but it was pretty awesome. The food is whatever, average. I'm sure there were better down the street, but this was good enough for the Americans. Also, the shots were completely watered down. Be careful of them fooling you into believing you're getting a real shot of alcohol. read more

I know this place is here to attract tourists and when our group of more than 10 was walking around downtown, they tried everything to get our business. They finally got it and boy was it disappointing. I didn't really trust that any of the food was truly vegetarian or vegan safe, so I stuck with a margarita. At least that's what they called it. It was seriously watered down and trying to taste any alcohol in it was truly a challenge. The meat eaters in the group ordered a variety of dishes and the wings were the tiniest I've ever seen. I didn't hear very good things about the food, and I don't have anything good to say about the margaritas. I guess you can't go wrong ordering beer (at least if it's bottled), but be forewarned that you will have peddlers on the street trying to sell you things, and the bathrooms are not very clean. I'll be skipping this one next time for sure. read more

This place actually has several locations in Ensenada, all found within a few block from each other. There is the plaza, which overlooks the street in the tourist area. There is a store, selling merchandise. As I'm not too big on buying souvenirs, I haven't taken the time to check out this store. I may browse through it in future reviews. The actual night club is located farther north on the tourist area, and it is found in the upstairs portion of the building. Entrance is only $5, which is a bargain compared to many places in LA and SD. The patrons were mostly well-dressed locals in their 20s. There are two security officers on staff at the door, and they were very courteous. The bar itself was popping that night, and I saw quite a bit of eye candy there. I parked along Miramar Ave, in the zone of tolerance. There are other parking spots nearby, and some spots along the street. It's not a big city, so parking should not be an issue. I enjoyed my time here, and I may stop by for a drink the next time I find myself in Ensenada. read more

I wish Yelp would have the below one star ratings, because this place is more like a minus 5 (-5) stars. MAJOR TOURIST TRAP, especially people that go on cruises to Mexico have to go to this place. It is a waste of money, so I am WARNING!!!!!!!! You. The food is well below average for bar food, they DO NOT serve authentic Mexican food here, and we tried the nachos so a way to describe this dish is runny fake cheese from a jar or some kind of dispenser and mystery meat on top of cold chips. We also tried the margaritas, although very large in size, those were terrible as well, some kind of mix with no alcohol in it, pretty pathetic......... They play very loud music to lure tourists to go in for a big disappointment. The only attraction is people that are very intoxicated and lower their standards to expose parts of their bodies that should not be exposed...... anyway.... and to make it even worst they have great wireless so anyone can take pictures and post them on media. read more

This was my favorite bar to visit in Ensenada. For the last year, the prices were wonderful. Today, I left the bar with six beers bought. The bill was $23 dollars. Last time I was here (two weeks ago), we paid almost the same price for 11 beers. My girlfriend, who lives in Tijuana, says we were ripped off. I won't be coming back if they are going to con American visitors into paying double for beer. You should think about who you are going to charge extra, especially when they have been visiting every two weeks for the last year. read more
