I was especially blown away by their customer service. On my second trip in, I asked for help finding a couple of items on my granddaughter's birthday wish list. Since I'm not familiar with this merchandise, and she was not with me, I asked Juan for help. He was so kind! He even went into the back to check if possibly they had one in the back. Then he carefully applied my coupon to my order as well as their standard "buy one, get 30% off a second item". Both visits I have been impressed by their friendly customer service. They might have extra makeup or piercings, but they are really kind and I appreciated their help on both visits.

Her name is Kayla. I went from simply browsing, with no intention at all to purchase anything, to walking out with three items that I'm incredibly happy with. Her costumer service worked. Rather than being pushy, she simply asked about what I liked and offered to let me see items that might interest me. She added no pressure whatsoever, and made me feel excited about the items I was going to get. Hot Topic always has something for everyone, with great deals every time you walk in, and their staff is always great, but Kayla was really something today!

A shopper left a single item in the fitting room while rushing because her mom was calling her to hurry. Instead of simply collecting it, an employee stopped her and questioned whether she was taking it, then made her go back. It felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable to watch. Aside from that, the store itself was great. It was clean, well staffed, and full of genuinely good finds. Overall, I would call it a four out of five experience. The selection was good and I found what I was looking for in a couple different prints. There were a lot of people in the store and I saw someone at the register (Abigail per my receipt) and also the manager. A few minutes earlier there was an elderly woman with a walker asking someone for help. I think she was feeling faint and was looking for a place to sit down. The manager got Abigail to help her and she kindly helped her to a comfy chair in the front of the store. The manager was off to get a bra out of the back, I think for an exchange. I just wasn't very impressed with the manager. She was so "hands off" and not really contributing to helping people. Another customer ahead of me was curious if she still was a member to qualify for the 40% off. Abigail looked up her phone number and she was still in the system so she went off to shop! Then she called me forward as next in line. I told her she could go assist the woman sitting down but she said the register comes before assisting someone. I took the pj's off the hangers and she thanked me for doing that. She told me the full regular price and then after the 40% off, the total cost was much better! Overall a good experience but something about the manager's lack of assisting customers rubbed me the wrong way.

I could not exactly remember if it was one size or the next one up, petite or regular either. I had tried this on back in December in Charleston with my mom. There were a lot of sizes left in this style on sale, but not in my size. Jessica found a variety of dresses in petite and regular with a similar silhouette for me to try, and eventually she found one a size lower than I suggested in the original dress I wanted to try. It ended up fitting me enough to see what size length I should order, so I ordered it to be shipped for free to my house. I also have a rule to try on a dress on sale that has only one left and is in my size, and that one fit me too. She told me that 95% of WHBM clothes are washable (I always thought they were dry clean only) so I bought this fancy dress with a sale price of $50 and I can wash it in my wash machine! I was so happy about that. I appreciate the service here and honest feedback on fit.

When I went to front to collect my online order, they (this blonde girl) kept asking me to verify my identity even after showing them the email. (Why?) Okay, sure maybe it's their job to ask like 4 times. Maybe I'm reading into too much. Then after, I asked if I could go try on the clothes to make sure it was all fine. The lady rudely said "Yeah sure but I'm gonna mark it as picked up so if something doesn't work you're gonna have to just to a return." with a rude undertone and didn't even show me where the fitting rooms were, I had no clue I just wandered around looking for it. She also seemed annoyed and rolled her eyes at me. Like sorry I want to make sure the stuff I get actually fits before leaving? At other AE stores, they typically let me try it on then if everything's okay, they'll mark it as picked up. And they're actually nice about it!!! Even if this is right way to do it and the other stores have been doing it wrong, there's no need to be rude. The shorts I tried on were too big so I went to return them, when I got out of the changing room, all the employees left and I stood at the check out line for like 10 minutes before looking for someone. I get if you're having a rough day but don't take it out on people just trying to go about their lives, please. There's no need to ruin others days too.

We didn't make a reservation but just came in with our own hats- if you bring your own in there's a styling fee of $25. We picked out all of our goodies and Lakin took care to style it on our hats and make it perfect. We had so much fun! It's definitely pricier than crafting yourself at home, but it's so fun to see everything in one space and have some pros help you out. Definitely would recommend for a girls day!
