The Paper Source has everything I miss about the gdays of in-person shopping. The staff are friendly and helpful. The store inventory is broad yet tastefully curated. The prices are pretty reasonable. And I don't have to scroll endlessly through a giant online retailer, hoping that the right item catches my eye. What do I come here for? Definitely cards and wrapping paper. Paper kits and little toys for my kids. Quirky gifts for friends, like a mushroom-shaped lamp or a boba-shaped plushie. Journals and trendy cookbooks. Holiday merchandise, including for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Pride. (The store seems to have a welcoming, inclusive environment.) I wouldn't think that I'd like a chain paper store so much. But this Paper Source is a really cute spot that's worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

It's hard for me to rate Paper Source under 4 stars, because I really do like Paper Source. They always have the cutest (albeit soooomewhat over priced) seasonal gifts and their cards are cuter than dare I say Target's card selection. But seriously - can we talk about the overbearing sales people as soon as you walk in the store? I don't need help to look at cards. I don't even need you watching me look at all the cards. I've always been a huge fan of Paper Source, as I collect stationery and greeting cards. The place is jam-packed with a variety of different cards, gift items, everything you need to be crafty, gift wraps, and the list goes on. You can spend a pretty good amount of time, perusing through their things, because everything that they have, you just want to buy! I recently had a private get-together here for a card-making workshop. Our instructor was super sweet and very helpful, gave wonderful ideas, and helped each of the attendees with designs. She was also very knowledge in using different tools, too! I just wished the manager on-site as well as some of the SAs were more friendlier and more welcoming. I always see Paper Source as being a cute, fun, whimsical, and a happy place for shoppers, so having such negative 'tudes just ruin people's moods, you know? The ladies who work here are so sweet and helpful. My mom and I were in yesterday (I think of this store as my mother's spiritual home lol) for a very specific project and they really saved the day! They went above and beyond to send us home with the right items. It's so fun looking at all the beautiful papers here and dreaming of ways to use them, and it's an ideal place to shop for gifts. They always have something new and cute. I'm not a big crafter so I love their kits (to help you make things like wreaths and decor). My mom has gotten me a few as gifts over the years and they are fun, and easy for craft impaired people like me. read more

The products in the store were excellent! I was very impressed by the selection of stationary, kids products, and fun tinkers. I almost bought a musical product, but was totally turned off the the female employee working today (24 June 2024, afternoon). She kept hovering over my children with the most unpleasant expression and vibe, and when my youngest accidentally knocked down a product...I picked it up and put it back on the shelf. She came from behind me, no "excuse me" or "oh it's okay," just a nasty attitude and just touching the product I had already fixed. My family and I left the store without purchasing anything. I understand working in retail can be challenging, but this person had no business working in a store. Hopefully the next time I come I don't have to deal with that. read more

When I walked through the door of Paper Source today, I could not believe how crowded it was. But then it is that time of year ... Christmas. Lots of people looking for cards, wrapping paper, etc. I always look forward to finding some unique cards or other items here. Today my goal was a decorative paper punch. Unfortunately, not many choices, but I did find a two-pack that will meet my needs. I also ended up spending way more than I had planned on a roll of wrapping paper, ribbon, and some cute cellophane gift bags. (Sorry, Target, your shelves were rather empty and I could not find what I wanted ... Paper Source to the rescue.) If you send a lot of snail mail and want fun stationary, this is a great place. They have beautiful cards, silly cards, witty cards, rude cards. In the front it's all cards and stationary--boxed and individuals. In the back it's crafty stuff for people that do paper arts. They also have tons of gift items. Right now there's tons of owl items--ornaments, stuffed owls, owl journals, ceramic owls. I like coming here for special cards and gift wrap sheets. They do sell rolls but you want to come here for gift wrap sheets. They're organized by color and have really fun and silly designs. For Christmas, I got blue sheets with an octopus wearing a Santa Hat. Ha! As far as pricing, there are some affordable cards, but most of the cards I've gotten have been individually priced at $5+. With customer service, they're really nice. It's usually 2-3 people working. It's a small store, so it gets a little annoying with how many times you get greeted and asked if you're okay. Paper Source is an amazzzzzzzing store. It is a crafter's heaven. You walk in there and you just want to buy everything!!! I can spend hours in there looking at everything they have and letting my imagination roam and come up with really cool ideas. What's cool is that the people that work there are super friendly and they will show you a bunch of decoration ideas and crafty things. They BLEW MY MIND when the heat stamping embossing gun and powders. SO COOL. I had NO idea that existed!! Paper Source also hosts classes on Saturday where you pay around $30 and they'll show you how to make a bunch of things. Paper Source is really amazing - I go there for their really cool cards, paper, craft materials, etc. The only reason I didn't do 5 stars is because they are really really expensive. I know I can find the materials elsewhere (ie. other craft stores) for much cheaper. So although I get great ideas here, the supplies I get somewhere else. I do splurge here once in a while on unique things I haven't seen elsewhere like golden straws and fun embossing powders. read more

The staff was super helpful. I brought my two kids (2 and 5) into the store to pick up a quick card. Because the store was having a sale, they had red balloons to mark the sale items. Of course, the kids want a balloon. Sure? Why not? It's probably a couple bucks. I bought two normal balloons ($.95/each). They filled it with helium ($3/each). WHAT?! On the bright side, the staff made a great effort to put a plastic weight on the bottom of each balloon. So now I am out $10, but at least I have happy kids. Right? Wrong. I didnt make it 20 feet down the street when the knot of the first balloon came undone. Pffffffft, the balloon zooms across into a bush. Ok, no big deal, I got the balloon back and filled it with good ol' oxygen from my lungs. Of course, before I got both kids into the car seats, the weight on the other balloon came off because the ribbon wasn't tied tightly. So.... bottom line: Although the staff is great with kids, the aren't great with balloons (especially given the price) read more

This is a great Paper Source location. Although brand new, the staff is already up to speed on the products and had live demonstrations of crafts going while I was there. There's something about walking into a brand new store -- the workers are bright-eyed and everything smells and looks perfect! I came to pick up some Christmas cards (everyone knows Paper Source has the best cards...) and they were well stocked and displayed. The store manager, Ali, came up to make sure I was doing OK and gave her opinion on the cards I was deciding between (nice touch!). With all of the displays, it does feel a bit more crowded than other locations, but I suppose you just have to work with what you're given. All in all a great addition to the other shops in the area. To keep my fiancee out of the Anthropologie next door will be the real trick.... read more

I've always loved stopping in at the Paper Source, whether in San Jose, CA; Philadelphia or at the Mosaic Center, Merrifield, Va. But last year - January 2020 - was the exception (like so much else that happened in 2020!) No quibble about the merchandise, it's always fun and innovative! But the hired help simply ignored me! And this was in pre-coronavirus days so none of us were covering our faces. I remember walking into the store early on a Friday evening; there were only 1-2 other customers there at the time. I took a basket and started exploring items, all in a normal "shopper" way: not grabbing or messing up displays but looking, sometimes picking up an item to examine more closely. There were several young saleswomen at the counter but no one greeted me and when I tried to get help, they were either unresponsive or rude. I couldn't help but notice that everyone else who entered the store received a big Hello and an offer to help. I couldn't believe it! Every customer was acknowledged in a friendly manner except for me! I wondered if this was because I'm obviously a "seasoned citizen" and the others were much younger? I hate to think in those terms but the employees and customers all appeared to be in a similar age cohort and I was the (obviously) oldest one in the store. I hadn't been back to Mosaic Center since then; shortly after my bad experience at Paper Source I came down with a horrible non-corona flu. As I was recovering the lockdowns began. I've been out and about fairly regularly since May (masked of course!) and perhaps will stop in to PS again. But if the employees are as nasty as last year's girls, that's it! I love this store. There is so much variety, so many interesting, and fun things to look at, that you can easily spend a good hour there. My only real issue with this wonderful store are its employees. You barely walk inside and you are accosted with overly aggressive and over-the-top "Hi!!!!!! HOW ARE YOU TODAY?!?!?! WHAT BRINGS YOU INTO OUR STORE TODAY?!?!?! HOW CAN I HELP YOU TODAY?!?!?! MY NAME IS _____!!!! LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN HELP YOU TODAY!!!!! Now, don't get me wrong, I appreciate an attentive salesperson as much as the next guy. However, the barrage of fake (I'm sorry, but it's fake) concern for my well-being, how they can help, etc makes me NOT want to shop there. Almost. I do still want to go there, but I grit my teeth and cringe as I reach for the handle to enter. "How loud will their hi's and how are you's be? How close will they actually get in my face as they practically catapult themselves onto me?" Their zeal is off-putting and a bit frightening. It would be lovely to be able to walk in this store, be greeted in a normal voice, then left alone to shop. This is the only Paper Source I've gone into where the employees are SOOOOOOO enthusiastic with their greetings that you feel as if you walked into a cheerleading competition and not a retail store. Attended a washitape cardmaking workshop and learned many great tricks. Not to mention it was a great way to spend my Saturday morning with people who love stationery as much as I do. This is my second workshop with Paper Source (my first was in Walnut Street, Philly) and I highly recommend all of their workshops. I think I have a weeee bit of a problem. Well, okay, maybe more than a bit. See, I am full-on addicted to crafting, and I blame the wonderful staff at Paper Source Mosaic. Oh sure, it started real small -- had to buy some ink and stamps for my Christmas Card making stations I was doing at an event, and I was STRONG. I was able to successfully ignore the piles of amazing, Urban Outfitter-y displays of random gifts and decorations and books and toys. I was able to bypass the wall of gel pens that always whooshes me right back to my schoolgirl days in Taiwan, when I spent hours browsing glorious Asian stationary stores. (Buying pens and stationary, to this day, remains one my guiltiest pleasures. That and the fact that I'm still watching Glee.) I was even able to resist the magical embossing powder that turns your very own homemade cards into something that you would pay an Etsy vendor mucho money to create for you. I was very strong that day, and you should all be proud. Of course, when I had to return to the store to purchase a few additional Yelp Shops Local supplies... that's when it all went to hell. It's still a little blurry, but somehow I was able to spend $150 on craft supplies, to include a heat embossing tool, chalkboard displays, more stamps, a glue pen... I don't even really know where it all came from. But now I feel like I can't stop. I am finding excuses to craft EVERYTHING! From hand-stamping my christmas present wrapping paper to creating homemade holiday cards for literally everyone I know -- Family members? Have yourself a merry little Christmas! Neighbors? Happy holidays from mine to yours! Postman? Haul out the holly, here's a card! -- I've turned into some kind of crafting monster. And I don't want it to stop. So, curse you and thank you, Paper Source, for your amazing staff who showed me the beauty of heat-embossed metallics, for your amazing stock, which included the best stamp in the entire universe (a Santa octopus carting presents), and for your amazing location, which, as we know, is in Mosaic where I one day want to live. read more

I have been a customer of Paper Source for all things from wrapping paper and ribbons to writing paper and DIY items. Today's service was exceptional. I mean Melissa went above and beyond with her sincere desire to serve customers and enthusiastically greeted every person who entered the store. She is also very knowledgeable and helpful with the products in the store, and assisted me with styling some custom invitations. I also worked with Rachel who was equally friendly, extremely patient, and very attentive to details. Although I was a bit frustrated (not their fault, my own issues), she and Melissa pulled me off the ledge with some great suggestions. Pretty good selection and helpful service, but I wish there were more blank products. I picked up a pack of 10 solid black envelopes for $6.50 (more reasonable than online, where it would have cost $20+) and I was looking for a notebook that didn't have writing on it. They have a good selection of Moleskine art books and journals, but that's not what I was looking for. They have a wall of every color of stationary imagineable, and the employees knew exactly where everything was when I called and came in the store. The prices weren't too unreasonable so I don't think it should be listed as $$$$. Come here for all your stationary needs for sure! read more

I walked into this store trying to figure out some ideas for wedding invitations. I looked into heat embossing which was really cool when one of the sales reps was showing me examples. I ended up buying every pack of every colored paper. I used that to build a color sample for my clients in reference to colors they can use for their invitations since they carry all those colors in stores all year long. They carry other colors during different holidays throughout the year. Their paper is good quality for the price you pay. They have all different assortments of rubber stamps, paper, specialty paper, gift ideas, etc. They carry items of kate spade in here too! They make custom invitations as well, but I come here for my supplies. The staff here is very helpful and pleasant. When I am carrying anything someone will walk up to me with a basket so I don't hold everything with my hands which I think is very nice. That means they pay attention to their surroundings and makes sure every client that walks in is being taken care of. read more

Looking for some nice thank you cards I stopped in here over the weekend and left with over 100$ worth of paper items! How did this happen? This store is awesome; that's how! As soon as I walked in the sales representatives were helpful, but not pushy. I found some beautiful thank you cards, as well as a large assortment of other cards just to have, some adult coloring books, and various other add on items I found throughout the store (cheers to the impulse buys). I was so happy with the level of service, the quality and selection, and large selection. This is a great place to buy small gifts as well as cards, and they do personalized invitations as well. I ordered Christmas cards on December 8th. The website said that it would take 2-4 days to print and then the order would be shipped. I am now up to 7 business days and my cards are still "printing" according to the website. I am unable to reach customer service by email or by phone. I have left phone and email messages for three days and have not had any return response. I am extremely disappointed! read more

The store is very organized and neat and you can basically just about find anything that you are looking for no matter what type of event! However, beware that this is a high quality paper store so some paper here is VERY expensive. read more
