I love this store! I had ordered invitations online for the last few years and really missed the personal attention I remembered getting years ago. It was so refreshing to have a real person (in this case Lysa) take the time to help me! I am so indecisive and I was there on my own-so without Lysa's patience and guidance I would probably still be sitting there!! I purchased the most beautiful invitations for my daughter's birthday party and I couldn't be happier! read more

There's a beautiful selection of papers for crafting and greeting cards that aren't what you usually find, if you're looking for something more unique. The atmosphere is relaxed, so it's not the type of store to go into if you're in a rush. One gripe is the disconnect between the online offerings and the brick and mortar store. Some things are only available online, and even if you order it in a store, there's no getting around the shipping charges. read more

Every once and a while I wander into this store for its cute, kitschy merchandise. I alway leave reminding myself as to why this isn't my "go to" store. The customer service is awful. No one greets you or so much as glances in your direction when you enter. No one asks if they can help you...in fact, you have to interrupt an employee for any kind of assistance; only then is it given, albeit begrudgingly. Papyrus is right across the street...at least with them you have a shot at basic customer service. read more

I have been shopping at this store, as well as the Westport store for more than a year. As a stamper, I have found the selection to be excellent and the staff is more than helpful; they have given me great ideas. I especially want to commend Lysa. She was the first staff member I met and she was incredibly nice to me and so helpful. I am especially moved to write today because I just took a class tonight and it got me psyched! Lysa gave very clear directions and gave me ideas for other ways to use the techniques. I am so glad that these stories are close enough that I can always get the supplies I need as well as the help. I used paper source for my custom wedding invitations. My initial meeting went perfectly. The girl working with me was unbelievably patient and helpful. The production team in Chicago was very nice and made changes to the proofs until it was perfect. I had a slit issue with production time being longer than expected but after contacting the production team they agreed to overnight my invitations at no cost for the inconvenience. My invitations came out beautifully I couldn't be happier... I had one issue with Lysa in the store - she was very rude to customers. Cutting people off as they spoke, rolling her eyes aggravated when a customer asked questions. Someone accidentally knocked over a picture frame and as they picked it up and apologized Lysa walked over irritated saying ugh thanks for breaking my picture frame. She was unbelievably rude and acted as if customers were an inconvenience to her. If you don't like helping people you probably shouldn't be in retail . With that being said I would definitely recommend the paper source - just use anyone but Lysa at that store. Everyone else there was helpful, attentive and nice. read more

I am so happy that I found this place. They have so many creative things and helpful, nice people there. Especially Lysa who I think is the most wonderful person! She really knows her stuff and can offer help and suggestions for anything one is working on. I have taken a course there and will do so again. There are hardly any places for crafters to go that give personalized help and explanations on how to use products. I always leave feeling my creative juices energized. read more

Let me begin by saying that if I were able to exceed the 5 stars, I would! I have been to Paper Source several times before today. The beautiful displays in the windows always drew me in! However, I would always browse and never buy anything because, at the time, I was short on time for crafting (though it is one of my true passions and hobbies). Fast Forward to today--- I needed business cards made for an event later this week. I cannot emphasize how last minute this opportunity came up, but I knew I had to act quickly. I just started my own company and literally did not have ANYTHING made. However, realizing how important brand image is, I knew that I could not just order simple cards and hope for the best. I really wanted something special, custom and cost-friendly (oxi-moron, huh?). I called Paper Source about heat embossing, figuring that I would have cards printed and I would do the embossing myself. The young woman who answered the phone was so polite and knew exactly what I was talking about. She really knew her product because she answered my questions and told me that if I came in she would allow me to try it all out so I could really see the final product. I went to a local printing place called Nathan's Printing. I did NOT have a great experience. Feel free to read my review on their page. Long story short, panic-stricken because of the little time I have between making the business cards and making my product for the event I drove to Paper Source. There, I was immediately welcomed by Rena, the store manager. I am embarrassed to say that I broke down, started crying. I did not know where to begin. I had so much to do and so little time; the one business card printing place that could help me turned down to help me because of my ethnicity/religion. My opportunity was with a huge television network. I could NOT mess this up. Rena was so sweet and genuine. She listened to me and genuinely felt sympathy for me. I felt SO comforted. It was EXACTLY what I needed. She then brought me to the trial station in the front of the store. She showed me how to heat emboss and offered me a variety of colors that I mentioned I like. She looked at my logo, offered some wonderful suggestions and let me practice the heat embossing as much as I wanted. It came out BEAUTIFUL each time and it literally took about 1 minute. Then she showed me the stamps, card stock colors and heat embossing colors. She let me browse and checked in on me every few minutes. Another woman, Lysa, also checked in on me. She came over to comfort me as well after hearing my story. She really consoled me. Her effort really made me feel special. I also at some point encountered the young woman from the telephone and she recognized me and my needs and even recited to Rena exactly what I wanted. This really showed she cared as well; she listened to me, identified my needs, and was ready to help in any way. I felt SO comfortable in this store. I felt so warm. I left an hour later with a purchase of 85 dollars. Honestly, I thought i was looking at a price of 200. It was only 85 and trust me, i bought A LOT. In addition, with these tools, I am going to make GORGEOUS CUSTOM cards. Not shitty ones that the guy from nathan's printing wanted $150 for (without embossing or extensive detail). Anyways, PLEASE listen to me when I say that if you EVER need anything, come to this little boutique. The service I received today BY FAR exceeded any service I have ever received. I got better service here than at Christian Louboutin or high-end boutiques when I spend 15 times the amount of money I spent today. These women turned my whole day around. That is how amazing they are. And for the record, no, I really did not have time to sit here and type out this review. But when people leave an imprint on your life and heart from a shopping visit they are worthy of anything in the world. These women deserve their recognition. Paper Source, because of my experience today, you have not only gained a customer, but you have gained a LOYAL, RETURNING customer. Thank you for leaving me inspired and ready to work.
