This is my families happy place. Great selection of crafts, seasonal diy decorations, quirky stocking stuffers, and cavalllini prints. Their selection of cards and curated paper reminds me of De Medici Ming and I am happy the village has this location for shoppers. The service is outstanding and Jenn and Victoria went above and beyond. As a long time village shopper and former staff person at the village, I truly appreciate this 5 star treatment. I don't know what it is about stationary, but I tend to flock where the stationary is. Yes, I am that person who uses an actual planner and has miscellaneous notebooks for different purposes, as if it's a means to justify buying a super cute notebook in the first place. It's not like I'm a student! But, Paper Source makes anything possible. This location is in U-Village, and always has a lot of inventory, from stationary, craft tools, gift items and even candies. They have it all to make any Pinterest home office a real thing. If only I had unlimited amount of funds to buy it all. But a cute notebook or two will do. I always love stocking up on their planners and journals here. Expect to pay extra because it's in your favorite color or is a name brand like Kate Spade or Riley Paper Co. Plus, they always are in season, just like any good fashionista. But for paper and decor. Visit during the holidays and you'll find adorable, holiday prints that aren't tacky or has-been-done. Adorable store, with quirky, cute, unusual, and fun products around every corner. I literally could barely stop smiling, laughing, and squealing with delight while here. I made it out of this shop with 12 items of all shapes and sizes, including 2 cards, 2 small books, and several things I never knew existed. The clerk was great - very friendly. She recommended a couple of other items for me, but I'd already put back countless other items, so I'd gotten accustomed to exercising a high level of restraint. So I declined. But really I wanted to buy half of this store. I'd love to go back but I'll need to wait a while given my budget vs how many things in this store I absolutely adore and want to possess. Several comparisons come to mind about this store: ~The Archie McPhee's of Stationery Stores (weird, wacky, wonderful, and wholly unexpected items abound) ~The Top Pot Doughnuts of Stationery Stores (full of so many tempting, delectable treats it's hard to choose which ones to pick!) ~The Fairmont Olympic Georgian Room of Stationery Stores (Refined, elegant, refreshing, upscale, and delightful despite - or perhaps partially because of - its quirkiness) I'm a calligrapher, but that only partially explains why I love this store. I'm actually not all that crafty. Case in point. I joined a knitting club a few years back when I got to Seattle. I wanted to meet new friends (new to town) and I reasoned this could be a great new hobby. I'd become crafty! I'd make a hat, perhaps a scarf! Flash forward a few years and I'm still hanging out with my knitting group, but they laugh when I say I may knit one day. Generally we grab breakfast. Go for coffee. Its a sad state of affairs: I never took a stitch, but I did shop at a really great knitting store on Bainbridge on a field trip once. So why take my word when I say that Paper Source is nifty? This is a spot for the crafty and the inspired. Its a store full of embossing glitter, stamp pads, gorgeous papers, card stock, vintage and modern letterpress cards, and creative gifts. You can make some cool stuff. They offer classes on lots of crafty things like making your own valentines, DIY invitations, stamping and embossing. Yes, this is a chain, but its so DIY and pretty, that it gives me hope for chains in general. One thing to note: I do wish they had a better class area --their San Francisco store had a large private basement area for classes, but as far as I can tell, at the Seattle location they hold classes at a large communal table in the middle of the retail shop. I took a class at Paper Source (in San Francisco) and it resulted in my making (drum roll!) some pretty cool DIY cards. In fact, Paper Source has inspired more than a few craft projects (mostly cards and birthday ideas) and their papers and projects (including paper crafts, individually wrapped and ready to go) are perfect for those of us who need inspiration and a helping hand to be crafty. read more

I usually wander in here when I'm waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. There's always so much to see (and buy). They have a convenient location that's across the street from the parking garage. I'm a card giver for any occasion. Their single card selection is good and I seem to find something for whoever is on my list at the time. The last time I was there, I found a cute Game of Thrones card for one of my friends. They also sell boxed cards if that's your jam. Generally, there are tables set up around the store with themed displays. They have tons of product on them that often make me smile. It's basically small gifts, trinkets, books, toys, etc. You never know what you're going to find. I recently found Pressed Juicery gummy bears, which my sister in law loves, so I bought a couple. If you're into gift wrap, they sell tons of it by the sheet! They also have section with art supplies. I've always loved passing the time in this store and can always find something to buy. I'm kind of sprung! I was going here to get some colors for a destination wedding sign to find this might be a guilty pleasure oh my! I came back for the second time to find they have banner makers, creative and different million type of markers, tools that make my crafting even more easy. Every crafters dreams are in this place, you have to check it out. For June 2017 they had pineapple theme EVERYTHING which is how I was inspired to throw a pool party for my birthday it was great, all the items you needed to make it happen. I ended up spending a few dollar bills for my birthday. Then I found out about the hand wiring class, so I ended up taking this class and that is how it all started. I'm super involved., and let me tell you 30 mins of practicing my hand writing skills each night. When I was in Portland I found out they have buy one get one 50, so of coarse I had to get more items. The best thing about the classes, you get items and you get a discount for the future purchases, They have another handwriting class in July, please know I will be there. They carry really nice papers, cards, ribbons, etc. Their selection of gift bags is really limited, but 4 stars for what they have to offer overall. Zero star for the service though. The staff was RUDE. I talked to two and found them absolutely unhelpful and rude. I needed to buy a gift wrap and have them wrap my gift for me. They charged me about $5 for wrapping and all she did, after showing so much attitude and looking for someone else to wrap the gift, was cutting the paper into an uneven thick stripe, wrapping it around my gift, putting a tape on it that did not stick, and saying "these papers are really stubborn". And that is it. Passed to me! My gift was a $400 souvenir from France for a very special cause. I had no reasons to say anything to such horrible service and thanked her and left. Of course that piece of paper came off before I got into my car. I had to go to another nearby store and wrap it myself. There are other stores around that carry same items and don't have such nasty attitude. read more

There's nothing mindblowing about this store, but compared to other cards and stationery stores, this is hands down the best place for mainstream and semi-hipster greeting cards and stationery. If you're looking for locally made, hand printed cards and stationery, you won't find it here, but if you're looking for just about everything else, you will! I love thank you cards, I think they're super underrated and Paper Source has the best selection of thank you cards (and other cards), both individual cards and by the box. Prices are on par with other stores, but the selection is at least double that at any other store. They also do DIY and hand lettering classes, though I haven't taken any, and they have a great selection of calendars, stamps, wrapping papers, journals and a slew of DIY stuff. If you're looking to make your own custom thank you cards or invites, this is where I would go. This is one of the only places (actually the only place) I know that sells sealing wax (what a dying art). read more

I walked in and told the lady that I'd been struggling to find a certain kind of paper, and she knew exactly what I was looking for. She walked me over, and showed me what I was looking for, and she didn't even walk away, she stayed with me, and grabbed all the paper that I needed in the right weight. I LOVE this place. Heck, I love just about any stationary or arts and crafts store. Buying a gift for my boyfriend, the store didn't give me a box, so where do I go? Paper Source. It's quite affordable and the range goes from plain to vintage to holiday themed boxes, cards, and wrapping paper. I love the different options and if I had a choice, I'd work at their station and decorate my own items. If you are in dire need of EVERYTHING, then buy a few items and the store workers will let you work at their station to finish up the job. There isn't much they don't already have and they're very helpful to help find you the best match for what you're looking for. They will walk you through the process of how to order or create certain items and are always willing to help. It is dangerous to shop if you don't know what you're going in for, so if you don't want to come out with a handful of items, make sure to know what you want. The store hasn't had their official Grand Opening event yet, but they've already got all their ducks in a row! Such beautiful papers, fun (and some cheeky!) greeting cards, unique gifts, cute things for kids... this store has it all! I'm mostly a rubber stamper, and the stamp section is pretty small. However, they do have some unique stamps because they have their own brand. I was delighted by the service given me by Kelby -- she showed me around the new store and even found some really cute sushi-themed paper after I commented about visiting the sushi restaurant near the store. OMG PAPERY THINGS!??!! I could spend forever in this store, love love love it! Their prices are a little steep for actual wrapping paper, but the thick high quality prints are very worth it for the wrapping paper aficionado. There are tons of small to medium sized gift items too (the calendars are really fun)!! JOY!!! The staff was very helpful, if slightly overwhelmed by the amount of people in the store. We cannot say enough how much we appreciate the help of the staff at Paper Source - especially Adrienne - as we picked out and ordered our wedding invitations. We went in not knowing what to expect and were immediately overwhelmed by how many choices there were. Adrienne was super patient and thoroughly explained our options, answered our many questions, and created a number of quotes for us. We also greatly appreciate how they walked us through the ordering process. Just one quick note - be sure to check their hours, which are slightly different than the rest of the U-Village stores. UPDATE: Paper source corporate "forgot" my order. This is completely in keeping with everything else I've experienced working with these people. For god's sake, don't get your wedding invites done here! IMPORTANT: Their sizes are wrong! An "A7" card at Paper Source is 5" x 7". An actual A7 card ANYWHERE ELSE is 4.1" x. 2.9". The A-sizes are a STANDARDIZED system of measurement, but this company completely disregards the actual sizing and just calls things whatever they want to, I guess. This means if you take PS products anywhere else--to a legit print shop, for example--and say "I need this cut to fit an A7 envelope," the print shop will look at you like you are nuts. We're lucky that the printers we worked with pointed out that there was something wrong with the measurement, otherwise we would have lost a LOT of money. read more

I have always been a fan of Paper Source, In fact it is one of my favorite stores. That being said, this location is pretty lack luster. It is a pretty large location for being in U Village but it felt empty, spread out and kind of awkward. I was not greeted nor interacted with when I was in there. Wasn't that busy in there either. I would not go out of my way to come back to this location but if I am around, I would give it another shot. read more

Wrapping paper, cute tape, trinkets, stationary & etc. this place speaks to me ! I love wrapping paper because it gives every gift a unique look and touch. So when I came here I bought a couple sheets ( they sell them in rolls too but not all of them are available that way ). The wrapping paper sheets can run you up to $4 a sheet. They had plenty of super cute stationary products throughout the store. The store was well kept and the workers friendly. I'll have to pay the store a visit again for Christmas ! read more

Came in here the other night because I had such fond Paper Source memories from Santana Row back in San Jose as well as Phoenix, AZ and Scottsdale, AZ. I've never met surlier workers in my entire life. I get it was night time in the middle of the week, but come on...why work in retail if you're going to be so unhelpful? Asked for the price of a rubber stamp because it didn't have a price on it. I asked the worker and I *swear* she rolled her eyes at me. She told me the price and semi tossed it back at me. I had to catch it. I didn't get her name, but I should have. I also shouldn't have caught it and let it fall to the floor and let her pick it up...you know, make her work. I'll try to come back during the day when, hopefully, less cranky pissy "workers" are there. read more

The person who rang up my transaction didn't know how to handle the delicate sheets of handmade and wrapping paper that I'd carefully selected. First, she handled them very roughly while turning each sheet back and forth to line up the price stickers to make it easier for her to scan which caused some creases which I tried to ignore. When I asked her to please roll them, she did not lay them down on the flat counter behind the register that would've made it easier to roll, instead she held them hanging in front of her and then crunched down the ends while she tried to get them to roll. When she was done "rolling" up the paper, both ends of the roll were exposed. I asked her to cover them up and she took a shorter piece of paper which, of course, did nothing to cover the exposed ends. I gave up at that point. Even my friend commented on how bad of a job she'd done at every step of the way. Please train your staff how to properly handle and roll the sheets of paper. read more

I love this store. Yes, I come out buying more than I needed and spending more than I wanted to, but the customer care I get and the tips are much appreciated. I can get a little crafty, but I need some direction and good recommendations now and again. I get that here. I love their products and I have been really pleased with the service. She was very patient, understanding & helpful in the decision making process. I am a huge fan of the paper source. I used to frequent their Bellevue location and I have to minus one star because this store is just laid out so weird compared to the other locations. I don't think it's a big enough space for all that they offer. That being said, I buy all of my cards from here. So friends and family, if you're reading this, don't buy me cards from here because you'll buy me the same one I already bought you. ;] The staff is very friendly and they have everything you could need for any little art project your heart desires. It's a bit pricier than most craft stores, but the quality lives up to the prices, so I'll pay a little more to know what I'm making will last a long time and be sufficient. read more

This is more a review of this specific Paper Source rather than the whole company. Although, briefly, Paper Source has expensive and pretty paper goods and craft resources. Great for custom work and has a great selection- check out their website (which if how I often buy from them). The U-Village store is spacious and a lot of fun to poke around. However, the staff was almost too excited. I like a fair amount of space when I shop and not to be bombarded by sales people, I know it can be rough in retail and sometimes store policies are to be as outgoing as possible... but I am really not a fan of that particular tact. They were obviously trying to upsell me as well (it was really obvious and pushy), which normally is something I brush off, but it felt a little aggressive for a paper store. (Seriously trying to upsell me on tissue paper?) I know some people really like outgoing sales people, but I thought it was a little much. For that reason I am going to keep shopping online at their website. The products tend to be great and are a really good quality, but the staff at this particular store were a bit overwhelming for me. read more

First of all, I'd like to make it very clear that I LOVE this store and all of its offerings. I believe the products are high quality and well worth the cost. The staff however leaves a LOT to be desired. This weekend I was in the store purchasing goods for a wedding with the bride to be. The girl in question was inserting herself in our conversation despite our decline for her assistance. When we DID ask for help, she found the product for us--which was nice--but then INSISTED that I (who I consider to be an expert in the area of all things crafty) was wrong about what I would need for my project and what size goods I would need to complete it. I assured her, I had done this before and knew what I was doing. In the end she basically said, "ok, well you're wrong." Well GUESS WHAT!!??! I completed the project last night and it turned out JUST as I told her it would. Looks like I wasn't so "wrong" after all. I love the Paper Source. It is one of my favorite stores. I have shopped at many different Paper Source locations in many different states. This store has, by far, the worst customer service of any Paper Source location that I have shopped in. In general, the employees here are always chatting and gossiping amongst themselves. They don't seem excited about crafting or helping customers. On multiple occasions I have had items ring up different prices than they were marked or than signage indicated. Once an entire stack of pumpkin shapes were on the 30% off Halloween items table. They rang up full price and the store manager refused to adjust it, stating that the item "Was a Thanksgiving item on the wrong table". Another time a pack of cards rang up double what the price sticker said. Again they refused to adjust the price. Tonight, I attempted to purchase some place cards for Thanksgiving. All of their place cards are behind a sign indicating they cost $7-$8 for a pack of 50. The individual packages have no prices on them. Of course, the package I picked out rang up far more expensive than this. There were multiple packages of this type behind the sign. Neither the salesperson nor the store manager would adjust the price and simply said they were sorry it was marked wrong. For some reason this store and its employees refuse to honor the prices their items are marked with or the signs indicating prices. I feel that this is basic customer service. If something is priced wrong, it is not the customer's fault and the store should honor the price as marked or indicated by sign posting. Skip this Paper Source location. read more

What's not to love about this place. It has all my favorite things (or most of my favorite things) under one roof. Stationery..always plenty, and pretty non standard, like you won't find those same things at Target. Writing utensils...mercy me I could go crazy with the brand LePen that they carry. So many fun colors and a great writing tool. Wrapping paper...high quality and unique. Fun gifts for anyone on your list. Journals...I have bought some great journals here for myself and as gifts. They have a huge variety to choose from. Planners/calendars galore...nothing more I can say about that. And of course cards..again nice selection of unique cards to choose from. The employees are always friendly and willing to help. Plus they are more than welcoming me to my dog. She loves going here cause she knows everyone will pet her. Had the most wonderful experience after a grueling hunt for last minute envelopes for our engagement party. Not only was Sarah so confident in helping us on the phone, we were greeted by glowing smiles despite it being minutes before closing. We found the perfect envelopes and when perusing stamps, she invited us to see a demonstration by her fellow associate gentleman (whose name escapes me, sorry) He preformed magic with stamps. I stopped into this store while killing time before a flight. I'm not sure if I've ever been to a Paper Source before but it struck me as being similar to Papyrus. They have some cute things - stationery, cards, cell phone cases, holiday decorations, etc but you definitely pay a premium for it. I wish I had known about Paper Source a few years ago when I started designing invites. Ordering paper items offline is a pain and you don't always get what you're expecting. With Paper Source I can see the item in person before purchasing and they have a wide variety of colors in stock. Since I was ordering for work on a company card, they allowed me to order over the phone and then pick up later. Now I want another project to design just to have a reason to go back. read more

If i could live at Paper Source................ I would.. lol.. I love this location at the U Village, as well as the one in Bellevue. Employees are always so nice and very helpful. My most recent visit was a couple months ago. I typically walk around the store a little aimless while i piece together an idea for a project. After about an hour later, i leave the store with not only all the supplies and paper for my current project, but for a second one. =) I always end up having good conversation with workers.. I loved this place, they had everything I needed for my small paper project and at reasonable prices. Word to the wise though: don't go in there expecting it to be like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. It's not that big, nor is there selection that vast, BUT there paper is of great quality and they have examples and ideas for paper projects all over, which gave me some inspiration for my project!
