Not only iconic tourist spot, I'd say it served great ways to experience the city, it's foods and crafts, and allowed you to bring home gifts from the place as well. Besides, strolling around the market was awesome experience to me including spotting the fishmongers with the fish-throwing 'show'! You gotta see the Gum Wall, the nearby Waterfront view, and the downtown itself. My fave spots within the market would be Beechers, Mee Sum, Hellenika, Pike Place Chowder, and Piroshky. Pike Place Market is an absolute must‑visit! This place is packed with energy, history, and so many unique specialty shops that you can easily spend hours exploring. We wandered through several little boutiques and artisan stalls -- each one had something different, from handmade goods to quirky touristy finds that you can't help but pick up. Of course, we had to stop by the famous fish‑throwing spot. It's touristy in the best way possible -- loud, fun, and full of personality. Watching them toss fish across the counter never gets old and definitely adds to the whole Pike Place experience. We also got to do Zoltar, which was such a nostalgic moment, and then wandered into a tarot store right after. The whole area is full of surprises like that -- one minute you're watching flying fish, the next you're getting a fortune card and browsing crystals. Be prepared for lots of walking, though. The market twists, turns, and goes up and down levels, but that's part of the charm. Every corner has something new to see. Overall, Pike Place Market is lively, iconic, and full of character. There are tattoo shops, fish throwing, flower stalls and the occasional hidden gem around the next corner which leads you on to the next possible hidden treasure. Don't worry about going early, as most of the shops don't open until 10:00. Bring sensible shoes too. read more

This is one of my favorite tourist attractions in Seattle. It's right next to the water and has something for everyone. We've tried most of the popular places here, and like coming whenever we can. Just recently I tried their Tiny's apple cider stand, where they have a variety of apple juice plain or mixed with something. It's awesome. Some places we like coming back to is the stand where they throw fish, they have good oyster shooters, they'll even clean the shot glass for you too! We also like going back to piroshky, mee sum pastry, Beechers cheese, pikes place chowder, and getting some cherries and white raspberries from local vendors. One major con is it gets super packed! Not very good for strollers or people who have walking issues, or claustrophobics. Also they allow cars to drive through Pikes Place. So sometimes you have to dodge cars. In Seattle for the day and just had to visit Pike Place Market. The market is honestly the busiest open air market I've been to in the country and there's something for everyone there. Seafood vendors galore all who are selling some of the freshest and largest pieces of seafood I've seen, floral vendors galore all who are selling the most beautifully full and beautifully arranged flower bouquets and food galore from vendors of all kind offering ethnic delights, local seafood and local favorites. The views of the market itself from the street and the views of the water from inside the market are breathtaking as well. Oh and we stumbled upon the "gum wall" ... even though I took a pic of it it's absolutely GROSS lol. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because it's wildly confusing to navigate and the maps don't help at all lol. So glad we got to experience the market! read more

We always enjoy visiting the Pike Place Market in Seattle. On weekends, the place is packed. The flowers are gorgeous but prices are much higher now at $30 or more a bunch. We bought chocolate covered cherries made in WA state, visited the Starbucks store, bought some souvenir gifts for friends, walked down to the newly built waterfront which was under construction on our last trip to Seattle. Always a great place to shop and take in some of Seattles local delicacies. For years this place has set a standard and yes the fish throwing thing is cool but there really is sooo much more here. There are the most beautiful flower bouquets from local areas brought in fresh daily. There are many artisanal stands for everything you can and can't imagine. Food plenty is all around. It even houses a restaurant that a scene from Sleepless in Seattle was filmed. When I used to live in the Seattle area I use to come here to get my loose tea leaves and other things. A really different place you'll find nowhere else that also boasts views of the puget sound. read more

Ended up with an 8 hour layover in Seattle so decided to explore a little bit instead of rotting away in SeaTac. Getting to Pike Place is super easy on public transit from the airport - it's direct there and under an hour away. Very user-friendly. The market itself can be explored in a couple of hours. I didn't get to see the famous "fish throwing" unfortunately but I did get to check out a number of stores. Places are very generous with samples. I tried bread with a few different balsamic vinegars and oils, salmon, truffle spreads and salt, and apple juice. The area around the market is very walkable and felt safe and clean. Prices are reasonable and it's easy to pick up souvenirs for friends. There are a wide variety of sundries available and most shops had airplane-friendly packaging. Also nearby is the famous gum wall (disgusting!) and the original Starbucks. Restrooms are plentiful although I found them to be a little unsavory in terms of cleanliness. The stall doors were also weirdly short? I'm a modest 5'3" and I found myself towering over them. Worth a stop if you're in the area. Very fun vibes. read more

We've been here a few times throughout the years and I have to say with the expansion Pike place market looks cleaner modern. It still has that Seattle waterfront feel, but they're a lot more open seating areas outside to enjoy the scenery, the weather and your food. We love coming here and looking through all the shops, tasting the various food options available, looking at all the beautiful flowers that they're selling. And all the little gift ideas from all the vendors. Our favorite spot is to watch the seafood areas, throw fish around and chant while they do so. It's such a staple to see this in action when you're visiting Pike place market. Don't forget to look for all of the pigs in the market area. There's one that's hiding somewhere and then there's two that sit on the corner right in front of the fish market area. I always suggest going in hungry and just trying different foods from different areas because all the food there are a delicious. This small little area connects you down to the waterfront which has the aquarium. Beware of those stairs as they can get tiresome. But the view from the top of Pike place market down to the water is beautiful. There is not a spot that you cannot capture a beautiful site. read more

Overly touristy and focused on that Instagram aspect instead of substance. It's interesting to walk through once through the fish market and flower market but it's so jam packed with tourists that it's a bit of a hassle to navigate. Probably the most sought after tourist destination in Seattle, this market has so much to offer. First of the small shops selling all sorts of local made items, ornaments, arts, jewelry, and hundreds of types of flowers. Then there are the regular fruit, vegetables, meat and fish stores, including the renowned fish throw and one hand catching traditions. Vendors are friendly, many spend the time explaining their products to guests. Prices vary depending on products, but most seemed reasonable due to heavy competing. It doesn't appear right away, but this place actually has six floors, each floor has many shops and restaurants inside. We found the oldest comic book store here on the 4th floor. There was a coin store and magic store as well. The famous Gum wall is also located inside this place. For visitors they also have a beautiful outdoor deck looking out to the Olympia mountain range. Despite all the good stuff, it seems the market lacks little bit maintenance. The signs are not as clear and enough to let visitors know what's available at this location. People and cars move side by side in Pike St, just in front of the market's entrance that makes it little dangerous. read more

We walk up to a restaurant serving Clam Chowder and this is what we thought the Clam Chowder here is amazing !! Super Tasty and delicious !! They carry a couple of different types of Chowder so we got two flavors of Chowder . And next we got some boba Drinks which was not bad also !! As for Value I say kind of Pricey but it is worth it . Got to bring one of my friends here for her first time and it did not disappoint! I always enjoy getting to see all the different vendors, whether they're food or art related. And honestly, every time I've come here, it still feels like I don't have enough time to make it through each section and floor of the market to properly see and enjoy everything. So I'll just have to keep coming back to explore more haha. One of my favorite discoveries has been how dog-friendly so many of the businesses were. A few of the vendors even offered my dog a treat, which was the nicest thing ever! I walked around but most shops were still closed. Still, I was able to take a few selfie pics on my own with beautiful views of the waterfront and Ferris wheel. I had coffee at one of the local shops near Pike Place Market. I avoided Starbucks because I wanted to support locals. Plenty of shops that offer cool souvenirs, small flower bouquets, local vendors and even their famous hot apple cider stand was noted. A must visit when in Seattle. The upstairs floor always seems to be crowded no matter what. Though you can escape the crowds somewhat by going to the back patio area overlooking Elliott Bay, or going to the lower 2 floors. The downstairs floors have some decent non-food and non-fish stores. Like i.e. there was a bookstore down there, and another selling old music tour and political posters. The music posters were the most interesting things I saw in that store. Pike Place is definitely worth a stop despite the crowds. read more

The market gets oppressively crowded on weekends, so go early if you can. There are multiple parking decks at the complex and near the waterfront, but if Uber is an option, you'll save the stress of finding a spot. No visit to Seattle is complete without a visit to Pike Place Market. Plan on spending half a day here if you want the full experience, but I found a couple hours to be enough for me. While you're in the area, walk a couple blocks over to Seattle's fabulous waterfront and stroll the pedestrian plaza for some amazing views of Puget Sound. This place is busy, but especially packed during the weekends and holidays. There are so many restaurants and shops for almost every need imaginable. I like to come hungry and graze as I go. I love the Hellenika Cultured Creamery for dessert, although the lines can be pretty long at times. The area surrounding the market is gorgeous with nearby Waterfront Park, the piers, and amazing views of the water. I prefer to take the light rail here since finding close parking can be hairy. The station is only a few blocks away and you walk past some cool looking stores too. read more

I've been here a couple of times thanks to my brother... the very 1st Black AEW All Elite Wrestling workd heavyweight champion Shane "SWERVE" Strickland. THE go-to spot in Seattle has to be their Pile Place Market Farmer's Market!!! They got everything from random touristy stuff, to the famous fish catching spot, great food all around, the very 1st Starbucks, and more! Parking can be a total bitch, but what do you expect? This is a local tourist hotspot. If you are lucky, they will have a random parking spot for you in front of the Farmer's market for free because people fly in and out of this place. Just be patient. The weather around here hella remind me of Korea because of how cold it is. Everyone's so damn chill just like many in the Bay Area, IMO. This place is right near the ocean, so you get to join the awesome views , clean air and breeze as well. It's totally worth coming here at least once in a lifetime if you ever have the chance. read more

I loved Pike Place Market, there was so much to see and eat. We went around 9:30 AM and it wasn't too crowded yet. Even when we had to wait in line, it moved pretty quickly. The only place that took a bit longer was Starbucks, but even that wasn't too bad. I ended up spending more time here than I expected because there's just so much to explore. The vendors are very friendly, many offer samples and are happy to answer any questions you have. Definitely check out the fish throwing, and I also picked up some smoked salmon that was delicious. One thing I noticed: the stalls in the women's restroom are pretty short, so when you walk in you can easily see who's inside, which was a bit surprising to me. The value here is worth it, many vendors sell local Seattle products and the produce and seafood are very fresh. I would love to come back again. read more
