Went to hand over my card and without missing a beat in his phone conversation the guy says "no plastic". I'm thinking "oh wow okay contactless pay only is intense but i totally get it" and pull up my Apple pay. Still on the phone: no. Cash only. Us: wait. Really? Okay uh do you have an atm Still on phone: no. Whoever he was on the phone said something along the lines of: "you really have to start taking them" because he said "nope. Not doing it. Cash only" He wasn't wearing a mask but he was also on the phone the whole entire time so I didn't even notice until we were like "uh okay. Well bye" If you are going to only take cash and don't have an atm at least put a sign on your door saying "cash only". Most people will see it, head over to an atm, and come back to buy something. If it was ten years ago it wouldn't be a thing, but I don't think I have had cash on me in at least two years.

He keeps the store well stocked with a good variety. It's a smallish space but crammed with good stuff. I was skeptical that a little shop in North Tonawanda would even make the list but was very pleasantly surprised. The environment is welcoming, we were greeted as soon as we walked in. We perused the selection and got to talking about some different games with the guy working (who I'm assuming was an owner but I can't remember his name because I'm horrible with names). Even though they didn't have what we were looking for, we wound up getting the Uncanny X-Men Dice Masters game just from talking about it. He knew his shit but didn't make me feel dumb for not being familiar with everything before walking in the door. Also mentioned a couple board game events that take place there, which we definitely plan on checking out. Overall just a really great shop, I'm looking forward to going back again.

Back when I first started playing Magic I went to a few other stores until I finally ended up here and Matt took the time to analyze my deck and recommend improvements. (worth mentioning he was NEVER pushy for me to buy any of the cards he recommended) After my first experience here, I never went to another store again and never will even though there's a lot that are closer to me. Beginner at Magic? Go ask for some help putting together you're first ever deck, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and is always happy to help out. Experienced Magic player? Definitely go to a game night here! Monday's are Casual Commander, Wednesday's are $5 entry Modern, and Friday nights for FNM are free entry Commander/Modern and it's always a huge turnout. For anyone who is interested in going to any of these, they're all at 6:30 PM. It's always a great time and the Dark Forest player base community is super friendly. No wonder the area was hopping today. We found a bunch of Buffalo Bills ladies themed items we loved including gifts, headbands, shirts, leggings, baby onsies and even a birthday card for my dad. They have some jewelry and tons of accessories as well as candles and lotions that smell Devine. A small toddler and baby section in the back was loaded with cute items and some sales.
