I love romanses, and boy do they have alot of romanses! My favorite is Confessions of a Werewolf Supermodel (its real - look it up!) She has the books sorted by catagory, then by author within said catagory (western, mystery, paranormal, historicals etc). Signs are on the ends of each bookcase stating the catagory. So easy to find. All books are half the cover price and if you bring in books to trade, they are an additional 25% off the cover price. Her "trade" policy is prominently displayed on wall. Regular bookstores can be overwhelming for kids who may not know what to look for, but a sign saying "books for animal lovers" is sure to get some interest. There are also sections for "snuggle up and read picture books" and "I am ready for longer chapters and bigger ideas", for example. LOVE IT. The curated book selection has many inclusive books too, not something I see in most kids' collections. Although the majority of books here are kid-focused, I found a couple to add to my to-read list too. There is a small parking lot around the back of the building for easy parking.

I saw a lot of YA and middle grade titles in addition to children's books, including books I never saw before. Meg was very helpful and friendly, and she encouraged my son to branch out with the first Tristan Strong book. I wish my other son - another picky reader - came with us because I think he would have been happy to see the range of inclusive offerings.

Aisles are clearly marked with genre so you can find your favorites quickly (or ignore the signs and browse everything!). I also loved the jar candles near the front counter, which have lids but you can take those off to smell the candles. Any of them lean toward a perfect "rainy day with a cup of coffee and a candle" vibe. Staff was friendly. The whole shop gives a very inclusive energy and made me feel comfortable and welcome. Parking is a challenge; find a parallel-parking spot down the street. (If you're familiar with the Elmwood area that will not be a surprise).
