I guess there is a good reason there is such a huge crowd that was outside of this pizza spot. I…read morewent into this knowing it was popular so I half-exoected a line of some sort, but I didn't prepare myself for a small mob. I felt bad for the guy at the door trying to keep everything and everyone organized.
They have two lines, including one for those looking to sit inside and one for those looking for takeout. Both remained consistent with people filling up the numbers, but they kept thing moving as well as they could (and it seemed to be working).
The pizza was well worth the wait and one of the best I've had in my 8-day window of Rome/Naples. This includes some of the sit-down fancier restaurants I visited that had pizza (which were subpar in comparison to L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele.
Unless you have somewhere to go, I highly recommend taking a number for a table. It is far too crowded outside and the AC units on the wall nearby can drip from condensation. I made use of a small table outside that was placed out there to help with those wanting to eat outside on their own, and some of that condensation (I think it was condensation?) decided to attack one of my slices. The pizza was so good, I contemplated eating it anyway, but I did call it a loss and threw it out. I Almost bought another pizza to make up for it, if it wasn't for not wanting to wait .
I highly recommend this place.
