My hair was an absolute mess and she fixed it better than I thought it could possibly look. She is such a professional!! She did exactly what I didn't know I needed for they grey blending. Noone can tell I'm going grey now because of what she did! It's perfect!!! I feel like myself again! Laura was also so kind and empathetic. I had a consult for an updo for my son's wedding. I was in the chair for 55 minutes and 2 styles were done. I liked the second one. As the day progressed the hair style came out after a few hours. I paid 145.00 for the 55 minutes in the chair for the consult. I called the salon the next day and explained what happened and was supposed to receive a phone call from one of the owners. They understood it was for my son's wedding. I waited 2 days for phone call and no phone call. It appears the owners do not care about this, they have my 145.00. While waiting for the phone call, I still kept my appointment for myself and my daughter for hair and makeup. I will cancel the appointment. I would not recommend this salon at all. About 5 montsh ago, m daughter and I wanted to treat ourselves to a self care day. She was 8 months pregnant. I have not had time to write this review on yelp till now. First off we were about 5 minutes late and my hair colorist was complaining how late I was. She told me I ruined my hair, I had been coloring it myself, and said she would have to strip it. I asked if that damaging for the hair, she explained that it had so many different colors in it and this was a way of taking them out. She glazed it afterward, I think that is why I thought it was ok. It did look good. I went to another colorist locally and he could not believe she had stripped it, he said that was very damaging to my hair and if he colored it, it would destroy it. So he colored the roots only. All I can say is OMG!!! I found this Salon on Groupon. I needed highlighting done and it's so hard to find a food hairdresser who does what you want and not what they want. It's like trying to find a good doctor. oh boy I found my new place! My highlighting job was done by Kristine. She was very nice, perfect highlights knew what I wanted, took her time, didn't gossip (like other hair salons). The service was amazing, everybody was so polite, well mannered, offered me tea or coffee. And the place! I LOVE the style of it. Apparently they cut hair on the first floor and color on the second floor. They have many stations and hair stylists. The whole place was very relaxing and zen like. And the person who blew dry my hair was Igor. He is one of the owners of the store. And you could truly tell he loves what he does!! Igor showed it in his work with really styling my hair. When I called to make my appointment for half head of highlights I asked the women if the price was what I had previously paid which was $125. She looked me up in the system and said she couldn't find me (don't know why as I have been in numerous times). She confirmed yes it would be the $125. So when I went to pay I was then charged 174.92 . I don't understand since I only had half head of highlights, no cut, no blow out. The older women called the colorist and she said that's the price. Go see Igor The Artist! As a man, you'd think that getting a haircut was a "just get it done" kind of thing. But I have to say, at Papillon, the experience is a bit different. You are definitely made to feel like they really appreciate your being there - from the friendly Front Desk, to the staff at the shampooing stations. And once you get in the chair, stylists like my man Igor make you feel like he's painting a masterpiece. As a preface to my review, I called at 12:30 PM, the Friday before Christmas, and was lucky enough to have Gina squeeze me in for a last-minute single-process color and haircut for 1:00. I have been dying (no pun intended) to have my hair professionally colored and cut for months - but never found the time or desire to actually pull the trigger. SO glad I did! Anna did my cut - Courtney did the color - and both of them were attentive to my needs and ensured me that I would be walking out of there happy. On top of their excellent service, i received an awesome wash and scalp massage from Jen - who continuously checked in with me to make sure the water temp was right and that she wasn't exceeding my pressure limits. I went to this salon for a trim. The stylist was very nice and gave me exactly what I asked for, and I was pleased. However, as I was paying, the receptionist told me my hair was a "mess" when I walked in, but that it looked much better now. I do my best to keep my hair very healthy (natural products, minimal chemicals, no heat styling, etc) and her rude comment ruined my entire experience at this salon. Had she kept her opinion to herself, I would have definitely gone back there for my next trim. Now I am never going back to Papillon. Edit: The owner contacted me to apologize and said he would speak to the receptionist about her behavior and offered me a free service. This brings my rating up from one star to three. I really appreciate that he's trying to do the right thing and will take him up on his offer. If you are interested in maintaining ombre-style hair or color in the brownish range then Rebecca might be for you, but if you are looking for a dimensional vibrant blonde then do not attempt color with her. While Rebecca insisted she understood that I wanted to keep my hair blonde overall with only a few low-lights, apparently she did what she wanted in the end, which was to darken my hair to an overall muted brown tone. Also, don't be fooled by the quote she gives you during the consultation "plus or minus ten dollars."
