I have been a client here for over a year. I loved this place. So when my 2 year old daughter needed a haircut this was the first place that came to mind. The assistants and the stylist were great with my daughter. Everything was going well until the owner Naomi aggressively approached my stylist and said "you need to wrap this up". My daughter cried during the wash apart of the cut and the blowout but she was not crying for the entire time like Naomi made it seem. I am a paying customer who paid $65 for a child's cut. How dare Naomi tell the stylist to rush. Whether you agree or not her approach was inappropriate. My stylist was even shocked. I was embarrassed and made to feel like I wasn't welcome in a place I have been going to for awhile. It's unfortunate because I liked it here but can never go back and support a business whose owner is this rude and insensitive. read more

I went in for a consultation. I saw a stylist and we talked about having my hair lightened. I told the stylist I wanted to gradually transition to a bright purple. The stylist told me he could get me to full purple in one session based on my results from the strand test he did. I am still brunette. I came back the next day to speak with the manager. During my meeting with the manager of Studio Trio she told me it was impossible to get my hair the color I wanted the first try. She said that I would need to get my hair lightened regularly (as I had asked for before). The manager refused to refund my money and tried to up sell me on different treatments. NOT KID FRIENDLY. My wife has been a client of this salon for a year and never a problem until we took our 2 year old for her first haircut. She cried at the beginning, during her wash, and cried at the end, during her blowout. The owner aggressively walked over and told the stylist to "wrap it up". While paying ($65 for a basic child haircut), my wife asked if everything was ok and the owner, clearly annoyed, explained she had other people to think about and the crying was just too much. She exaggerated and said we had already been there for two hours. The first time I ever went to Studio Trio I booked with Louis, and I was super nervous to try a new hair stylist. Let me tell you, Louis made me feel so comfortable in his chair the second I sat down. He asks the perfect questions, and make sure he fully knows what you want before he starts his work. He did an amazing hair cut, and blow out. I booked my next service IMMEDIATELY after my first service was done. Now I've also gotten my hair colored by Louis, and let me tell you he seriously listens to you 100% and executes exactly what you ask for. He's polite, funny & diligent. All the other stylists in the salons were also so nice both times I was there, it was a super comfortable vibe. I will never stop recommending Louis, and Studio Trio. I am a Covid bride, and my bridal shower was in my backyard as all other plans have failed me! When I showed up to my appointment, everyone was super kind. I really want to give them five stars. I really want to say wonderful things. However, after a month of dealing with this salon, I just cant. I had been considering silver hair for a while (just for the front section of my hair; not the entire head), and a search on Yelp brought up a fellow Yelpers experience, in which she successfully walked out with silver hair. I figured it was worth a shot to try a new salon, and made an appointment for the first week in May. That's where everything went downhill. I met Naomi, who told me she would do a test strand to make sure the silver would work. After about an hour of bleaching and toning, she seemed happy with the result, and we continued on with the process. Three very long, unnerving hours later, I was left with very not-silver hair. Instead, the front section of my hair was a mixture of dark gray and a lavender-white-silver color. She assured me that she could make it work, and I told her I really needed it to, because I had an event that same weekend. She booked me for another appointment, which was a few days later, on the day of the event I had scheduled in the city. I paid her the full cost of the visit ($100 for color I wasn't satisfied with [I felt like $100 was incredibly overpriced for the small section she was working with]; $45 for a haircut that had to be redone on the next visit; $2 environmental fee [yeah, I know]; 20% tip). And so, I went back on a Saturday morning, and watched and waited as Naomi and her various junior stylists and assistants went at it again. Another hour was spent on an Olaplex treatment and more testing of the different silver toners. I was starting to get the impression that I wasn't going to have as much wiggle room as I had hoped on this particular day. It was much busier on a Saturday, but I kept getting shuffled from chair to chair, wondering when they were actually going to DO something. As you probably guessed, the second visit was more of a fail than the first. The hair ended up being a tri-color mess of blonde, gray/silver, and brown. It looked horrible. Since time was running out, she ended up covering it with a graphite toner, which left me with hair that looked dark gray/brown. Essentially, I spent four hours there yet again, for hair that looked like nothing had been done to it. I left VERY disappointed, with yet another appointment on the horizon and more promises from Naomi. At this point, everyone I knew told me "DO NOT GO BACK THERE." Everyone had an opinion; no one agreed with my decision to give them one more shot. I did anyway, because $147 is still $147. On the last visit, which came along more than a week later (she needed time to research silver toners, yet still would not/could not promise me silver hair) I spent another 3-4 hours in the chair. After another test strand, more bleaching, more toning, more treatments, we finally agreed to a rose silver and ash silver mixture. However, when the final result was revealed, I had to sadly come to terms that I would never walk out of this salon with the color I wanted. I smiled because it wasn't the color of a pencil. I cried inside because, wow, three visits later, and this is what I get? The bottom part of the hair looked more silver than the top; some of it looked better than other parts; the roots were brassy blonde, and so were some of the ends; the curl was completely GONE to the point where she couldn't even style it to my liking; and after about a week, the hair was turning colors, despite the fact that I hadn't even shampooed it, on purpose. I have since had to walk into a beauty supply store, and have had to cover up the tricolor mess that my hair has become on my own. I have done hot oil treatments and have had to put coconut oil on my hair since to get rid of the dryness and lack of curl. My hair was completely ruined after three very long visits, and it doesn't even look good as a bonus. This is, by far, the worst coloring experience I've ever had, and I have been black, brown, platinum blonde, pink, red, purple, and everything in between. Kudos to them for trying, but it doesn't make me a happy customer in the end. read more

My usual stylist was running late so I accepted the services of another stylist. I showed her what I wanted and she immediately contradicted me telling me this hairstyle was not right for me because of my thin hair, despite the fact my usual hairstylist did a perfect job twice before with this style. I ended up with a uneven, shorter haircut. The left side is longer than the right side. The right side is chopped up making it thinner than usual. The back is longer and she made tresses, which I hate. To add insult to injury, she sprayed my hair and I told her not to. I need six months to grow out my hair which is the shortest time, it might need longer. Nicole gave me a perfect haircut. The other stylist ruined my hair. I am sooo trilled how Katie did my hair 2day. I do a kinda funky vibrant magenta red and she nailed it! My orginal hair stylist had 2 close because of the pandemic and unfortunately never re-opened. I tried a couple of times with other stylists but it never came out the exact color i wanted. I even turned 2 box dye!!! Which never worked out! I have never walked out of a salon this happy for my color! First I saw Katie for a free consultation. I wanted to go SILVER with grey roots from my already extremely pigmented sea blue hair. My main concern was upkeep and not to damage my already thin hair with the bleaching process. Katie was extremely vocal about the steps she was going to take in helping me achieve the results I desired which made me feel very confident moving forward. The day of my appointment the whole Studio Trio team was ecstatic to see the process and even more so to see the final result. During the 5 hour process (patience is key people) I was absolutely impressed by the communication though the staff and felt completely taken care of. Through every step (foils, bleaching with olaplex, toning, washing) I knew what was going in my hair and was told how it will affect the overall look and feel of my hair along with aftercare tips and tricks. During the final reveal I saw that Katie had turned my mermaid mane into a BEAUTIFUL pearlescent opal silver with tones of pink and lavender. Call it magic or science but Katie knows what she's doing and has complete control of the hair color wheel. Studio Trio has won my heart !!! read more

Save yourself! The first time I went here everything was great my stylist was Brittany and she really took the time to make me feel comfortable and sure of what color I was looking to get. I left with beautiful strawberry blonde hair and felt incredible. Once again Brittany is incredible I love her vibe and her work is just jaw dropping. So then I went back just to get a toner just to rebrighten that beautiful strawberry blonde. When I arrived I was told Brittany is out and someone else could do my color Naomi the owner volunteered to do my color since she has 47 years of experience and it's so easy.... I left looking like a rust spot on an old chevy. My blonde was brass. She volunteered to fix it but instead of doing what she had to to fix it she just stood there and kept saying I was being aggressive when I wasn't talking so when I had enough of the gaslighting I asked for my money back and what product they used in my hair. They gave me my money back after calling me immature and refused to tell me what products were used in my hair. Collected my money and left. read more

Everyone was so friendly and the place was clean calm and actually relaxing. Their hours of operation makes is extremely easy to make an appointment. Melissa Capellini was absolutely fantastic! She took time to listen to what I was looking for and I was extremely pleased with the outcome of my color. I was so pleased that I went back to Melissa to have my hair and makeup done for a wedding and she totally out did herself. I showed her a picture of the hair style and she nailed it. My hair and makeup lasted all day and night. If I could give it more stars I totally would. This may seem/look like a 5 star salon with everyone being super nice and customer service friendly in the beginning but I assure you it is not. I had a bad experience with Salon Trio and that's why I'm writing this review for the public consumer like you to read. I was (notice past tense) a regular customer frequenting the salon more for blowouts and single process than for a hair cut. A while ago, I had booked an appointment for a blowout. While I was getting the blowout I confirmed with the junior stylist that it would cost me $25 (not sure if this price is still applicable today). When I went to pay the receptionist charged me $30. When I said "it should be $25 because it was a junior stylist who did the blow out" her reply was "she just got promoted." I guess the stylist wasn't even aware of her promotion. After going back and fourth and arguing with the receptionist and one of the "co-owners" they agreed to charge me for the last time $25. The worst part is Naomi, the owner, called me early in the morning the next day to tell me not to return back to her business again. She didn't even have the decency to ask me what happened or hear my side of the story, because as we all know there are two sides to a story. Naomi acted very unprofessional and straight up rude. Salons in Lindenhurst and in Long Island are a dime a dozen. I'll take my business and money somewhere else. It simply comes to show how unprofessional Salon Trio is. read more

The best part of my experience was with the receptionist and assistant, whom were both super friendly. I got my haircut by Jennifer. Overall, the cut is good. At the very beginning of the cut, she told me she'd leave my bangs alone because the person who cut my hair before her cut them way too short and they needed to be grown out. She decided to cut my bangs, extremely short. Now they stick straight up or out, no matter how much product I use or how many times I flat iron them. It's ugly and extremely embarrassing. She also kept talking about how bad my dye job was, that she knew I did myself. She commented over and over again about the small spots that I missed and how there was a stripe in the back. She told me that my new cut really highlighted and showed my 'horrible' dye job, and that I needed to come back to her to fix it. No thanks. read more

Last night was my first visit to Studio Trio. I loved everything about my visit. Evelyn not only listened to what I wanted, but offered suggestions and was extremely helpful in every way. My hair came out beautiful and I couldn't be more happier with the results. The deep conditioning treatment left my hair like silk. I went for a haircut. My stylist was not available due to an long term injury so I agreed to have Katie do my hair. I showed Katie two pictures, front and back and explained what I wanted. My hair does not look anything like the pictures, the lines are jagged and uneven. Even as she was cutting I was explaining but she obviously doesn't know what she is doing. This has been one of my worst experiences anywhere I have gotten a hair cut. I advise anyone looking for a salon NOT to go to Studio Trio. Expensive and the cut is worst than any school cut anyone would receive. read more
