Paradigm's (master) electrician, Craig, has been to our house twice in the last couple of weeks. He quickly grasps what needs to be done and DOES it! Craig is efficient, professional, pleasant, takes initiative, and is thorough and knowledgeable. No wasted time with this electrician! I have also worked with Paradigm's HVAC division and they were incredibly good about locating and installing a new boiler for our house. Other than knowing they were here, there was no sign after the job was completed -- they did not leave behind a single speck of waste. Steve, the owner, came to get the plumbing ready ahead of the installation of an irrigation system by my landscaper -- and did not expect what he found in the basement of my very old house, but despite the challenges, he figured it all out, and tidied up some of the older cobbled-together work done a long time ago by the previous owner. I booked Paradigm for a minor sink leak repair for two units in the same building. Technician Mike was sent to me and did not finish the simple job. He had plenty of time (2hours) to finish. I was charged full rate and they expected me to reschedule a second visit. I complained to the owner Steve. He got defensive and yelled at me on the phone. He had the nerve to ask me if he could put his marketing sign on my lawn for free. I said yes and he just helped himself to my yard. But I spent thousands being his client and sent him a thank you gift basket when I first hired him. I even referred him out to my clients. Yet, Steve still snobs me off when I bump into him at social gatherings. Beware of this two-faced business owner. He charges a lot for crappy service. He's burned my bridge. read more

My son and daughter in law who JUST purchased their first home in Manchester had no hot water. They called for service and a technician came out for over THREE hours and never solved the problem. Your employee PROMISED to come back the next day to try and resolve the problem but he never showed up. My daughter in law called to find out where he was and she was told "no one is coming today, we're booked" Your company left two young new home buyers stranded with no hot water or heat. Your company never sent anyone back! Your company/employee DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM YET YOU CHARGED THEM $580 FOR NOTHING. They were forced to call ANOTHER company and pay again only to found out their oil tank gauge was broken and they had no oil. TELL ME, isn't that the FIRST THING a professional company check? This young couple who are trying to financially manage a new house got screwed TWICE!! I find you and your business to be very unethical. No repairs were done and a simple diagnostic visit that should have been apparent to a "professional", grossly failed. You got your money though didn't you? SHAME ON YOU!!!!! read more

2 paradigm technicians came out to fix our heat that wasn't working in our upstairs floor and to fix the loud banging noise the furnace and pipes were making. The techs had to order a $35 part and wait (hours) for it to be delivered to our house. They also said they cleaned our furnace while waiting. They charged us a $50 truck fee, $236 for cleaning, $375 labor, $35 parts, total $696. They got the heat working again but did not fix the loud banging noise. I called the office to let them know that the noise was still happening and to get clarification on the bill amount. The mgr was condescending to me (like other bad reviews have expressed) but finally agreed to give me back $200. I only asked for a partial refund because I feel they really overcharge and didn't completely fix the problem, and he only refunded the money because he knows they overcharge for labor (2 technicians sitting in my driveway waiting for parts is not labor IMO). One month later the heat stops working again so I called a different plumber. He was here for 1.5 hrs and fixed the problem and the loud banging noise and only charged us $175! I would never ever recommend paradigm! read more

Recently moved to New Hampshire and was referred to this company by the home inspector used during our home purchase. Upon moving into the new home we discovered that the prior homeowners cat urinated in one ac floor vent. Yuck! Reached out to this company and explained my situation and that I specifically required 1 ac flex duct possibly 5-8 inch size, a connecting floor register 12x4x7 and location of where in the basement ceiling I needed the access to be entered from. At their request I emailed pictures of both the register and internal flex duct prior to scheduling appointment. I reiterated over the phone that since I was paying by the hour ($140 ph) plus a garbage $50 dispatch fee-that I needed the tech to come PREPARED with ALL PARTS needed to complete the requested job. I was very transparent of the work I needed done and parts needed including sizes. However after 2 1/2 hours later, the technician informed me that he was not prepared with replacement parts. Contacted the office to express my disappointment and frustration only to be greeted with an "oh well" attitude. I was very specific. They wanted to have the clock continue to run while the tech drives away to a parts store (45mins later) and finish the job. What should have had done in 2 hours would result in 4 1/2+ hours. No communication between technicians and appointment schedulers. Company practices must want the unsuspecting consumer to just take it. Not this DIYer. I'm now finishing up the job myself after paying $315 for 2 hours of 2 small ceiling holes. Oh and the response from the company was to remove the $50 dispatch fee after I stated I wasn't paying that. Consumer beware. Asks lots of questions before technician begins. read more

Paradigm helped me out with a furnace replacement. The service was excellent from quote to completion. Once I agreed to the quoted price, a schedule was set. The technician arrived right on time and was courteous and professional. They exchanged the system and had everything up and operational just like I was told. The next day, Steve (the owner) came out with the building inspector for the completed work inspection. Everything was great and was signed off. Painless and professional. Scheduled an appointment a week ago for Paradigm to come today between 2-4pm. I took a half day off of work to be home. I called the office at 3:55 and after a lot of Um's and hold on's, was told - Oh sorry he will be at least an hour and a half from finishing his current job so he can't make it today. How unprofessional and inconsiderate is it that a phone call couldn't have been made letting me know that. read more

This review is way overdue. In November, Paradigm installed baseboard heating to my second floor (I have a cape). They were timely in coming out to give their estimate and their estimate was not only fair but I got a sense that they knew what they were doing over the other companies I had spoken with. After I got the initial quote, I had a few follow up questions and the office staff was really prompt and kind in handling my questions. On the day of my appointment the plumbers were on time, courteous and clean with their work. Everything went very smoothly. The job took the number of hours I expected based on my conversation during the initial estimate visit and and there were no hidden costs or fees. I am more than satisfied with Paradigm and would always recommend them to everyone for their plumbing needs. read more

They did quality work and the plumbers who came in were great. My wife liked them and she is picky. Only reason 3 and not 5 stars is when we wanted to get our heating replaced and brought someone in for an estimate they never emailed or called back with an estimate. i called and even wrote an email and nothing. We have to go someplace else becasue we cannot get an estimate, therefore we will most lilely take all our biusniess somewhere else. read more

We have been customers for 5 years, when we purchased our first home. Our favorite technician left the company, but we decided to stick with Paradigm because we had always been so impressed by the quality of service we received. We have now seen that it was not Paradigm we were impressed with, it was their former employee! "Doug" came out to repair our gas boiler. He was at our home for over three hours and during that time all I heard was him complaining to a supervisor about how much he dislikes units like ours and asking for help figuring out the problem. The supervisor narrowed it down to a part he thought it might be and Doug then had to leave our home for an hour to go pick up the part. He returned and it "didn't work" so he let us know that we should just replace our boiler because it's probably the control panel and that will cost us $2,000 (we replaced the control panel 2 years ago for $300). He let us know that Paradigm would be in contact with us with a quote for replacement parts AND for a new system and we should hear back by end of day the next day. He then charged me $440 for his work for the day (fumbling around on the phone for 2 hours and then leaving for an hour to get a worthless part). Four days later I received an email with a "quote" for an astronomically priced new system. I emailed back asking where the quote for the parts was and was told that they knew nothing about it, but the warehouse manager would be in touch. Never heard from anyone at Paradigm again. I then contacted other companies for quotes on new systems and was given quotes that were $2,000-$3,000 less than Paradigm gave us. I was also told that our current system still looked like it had a lot of life left and that "Doug" had left the current furnace in disarray with wires hooked into the wrong places. I used to think Paradigm was honest, affordable and reliable. Now I know better. Their employees are rude, incompetent and will overcharge you and leave you with broken equipment. Had my hot water tank replaced by Paradigm and I was happy when I was told my hot water tank was still under warranty. I only had to pay for labor.... However, I was not happy with the additional charges they gave me when I went over my bill. They charged 140.00 an hour( I guess that is the going rate) but what upset me was, and was never told to me at all (I had to ask what the 70.00 hr charge was for) they charged me 70.00 hr for a helper. Again, when I called and asked how much they charge per hour, Paradigm said they charge 140.00 hr....never did they tell me that there would be an additional 70.00 hr helper fee. When I called the office they told me that I was lucky they did not send out a 2nd certified plumber to help at an addtional 140.00 hr. On top of that, they could not get to my house until 12:30 ( no problem) but, when they showed up they said if they work past 4:30 the hourly charge would go from 140.00 an hour to 210.00 hr. (they called it overtime after hours pricing.I told him to stop at 4:30 becuase I was not paying that). So, of course the tech guy did not finish the job and stopped at 4:30 and had to come back out the next day and they charged me 50.00 service call fee(again) and when I said to the tech when he showed up that I was not happy with the 50.00 service call fee and the 70.00 hr helper fee he told me that im paying for his expertise and that I could have called a different plumbing co. I have always used this company and these hidden charges( or should I call them fees not told to me). I would have given Paradigm zero or minus stars but cannot. Will never use them again and I will tell anyone who asks about a plumber service never to use Paradigm. read more

We had a new gas boiler installed. Very professional and polite installers. Installer explained all the workings of the new boiler. They were detailed oriented and professional. The Town inspector said it was one of the best installations he's seen. read more

Until 2 months ago I would have given this company 5 stars. I had them out to do various plumbing repairs over the last few years and I was always very happy with the work and their professionalism. When we decided to have central AC installed of course we called them for estimate. Rick came out and told us quote would be to us in a few days. 6 weeks has passed and still have not received estimate. I have called and emailed and they would promise I would receive estimate by end of day......still waiting. I gave 2 stars because I believe plumbing is great, but I would definitely look elsewhere for AC services. read more

We bought a Baxi boiler from another company that has since gone out of business and needed to find a reliable company to service and fix our continuous problems we have with this unit we called paradigm plumbing and heating a few years ago and have since no longer needed to look elsewhere every time we have an issue we call them The other week we had a technician first name Sean came over to the house and diagnosed the problem with our no heat issue and was more than fair and knowledgeable with the ongoing issues with this manufacturer he was completely professional in all aspects of his job. ABSOLUTE IDIOTS !!!!...On Thursday, I called wanting to arrange an appointment to get a quote on a MAJOR air conditioning installation....The woman who answered the phone was rude & uncooperative. She passed me on to the owner, who ACCUSSED me of just trying to get a quote to confirm someone else's quote. He finally agreed to come see my home on the following Saturday; but wouldn't give me a time. He didn't call Friday but called Saturday morning. He was RUDE & OBNOXIOUS !!!!....I don't do business with this kind of people !!!! read more

We had all of our kitchen and bathroom(s) faucets replaced today. Justin, the technician, was thoroughly professional, careful, and knowledgeable about his work. Paradigm's price range was very fair, especially considering the amount of labor and calibre of parts (Moen) utilized. Justin will be returning later in the month to finish our new shower/tub faucets. I'll be sure to try to think of anything else he could help us with. House rummaged around when they knew no one was home. The workers were overheard making rude comments when they thought they were alone. They are messy; leaving shards of metal and wood everywhere. If you have a chance to use someone else then please go for it. If only so you feel safe. They act like children when not being watched. And the actual work is pushed far beyond the time it should take because of the tendency to sit around on phones and leaving work half done just enough to have to come back at inappropriate times. read more

We had a clog in our toilet we needed them to snake out. They sent two guys out (hardly needed) took everything apart, spent an hour and 1/2 and ultimately snaked out the clog that we asked to be done. They charged us $195 an hour! They said it was a 2 man job! The 2nd guy was clearly training as I could hear them the whole time and never mind that the two men could not both fit in my bathroom so one stood outside telling the other what do to. They supposedly replaced parts on my toilet which were fine and then charged us $120 to do so. Plus the $50 fee just to come to our house. So $462 to snake a clog! I could have bought a machine to do this for less. When we called to discuss the bill they took 4 days to get back to us (we called 2-3 times each day) and when they finally returned our call they were very rude and annoyed that we were unhappy with this cost. I am highly disappointed with a company I have used before. Will not use them again and will not ever recommend them. read more
