As a military veteran family, we are aware of long lines and wait lists. Also how they work. We have been on a "list" since April 16, with an appt time of Aug. we have called numerous times expressing my husbands pain and discomfort without resolve. Or an opportunity to get assistance. I finally asked to speak to the office manager because the pain is going down the jaw- Jenna Spelios- the wife of one of the dentist said it would be better to have us go else where because she was upset that we were so disappointed in her front desk. I couldnt agree more, we asked for a way to contact someone else her response was to look online. Save yourself time, headache and money. Go to an office where your health and care are a priority. That an office manager who takes your frustration with kindness and offers a solution, and not a back ended I would have helped you "if"... thats not how customer service works. Be your own advocates! Its truly unfortunate about the people at the front line- preventing the doctors who signed an oath to protect and treat. Jenna stated she was the owner and she makes the decisions. So we will look elsewhere- you should do the same.

Finally got an appointment on 12/20/ 2018…read more Wasn't informed several times that they would not be in the office for the entire holiday season. At the top of my admitting form I wrote the reason for being at their office was Tooth ache. They did an exam very quickly because it was very obvious they wanted out of the office for the holidays. The Dental assistant cut the inside of my mouth 6 times trying to get x-rays. When the x-rays Were done doctor Rodriguez came in and did the fastest exam of my teeth I have ever had in 55 years. The Dentist disappeared and I was given to the front desk I ask for an appointment to fix the tooth that was hurting that day was told there was nothing available except cleaning appointments. I then ask for the next day which was the last day of the week before they went on holiday and again was told there was nothing available except cleaning appointments. This left me in pain for the entire holiday season. They were too busy trying to get out of the office for the holiday season and completely ignored what I wrote at the top of my admission paper and what I verbal told them repeatedly that my Tooth hurt. Was given an itemized list of what each thing would cost And that I could make an appointment after the New Year To have any teeth repaired But They were more than willing to clean my teeth later that day but not fix the tooth that was hurting. Again very top of the page of the admission form toothache. Staff is suffering from burnout and only wanted to get to their Christmas vacation that would last through to the New Year no regard for patients pain at all.

But if ya go in making yourself as low maintenance as possible, realize we are lucky to have such services down here, ya might be left thinking it was the people leaving negative reviews who where the issue. My dentist told me that I needed a root canal and possibly an extraction, so I was directed to Dr. Slingbaum in Key West. I had been to Dr. Slingbaum before and I had a great experience with him. During the consultation he suggested that if he could restore the tooth, it would cost $1554 and to extract the tooth would cost $375 (which I have in writing). I opted to have the tooth pulled because of financial reasons. I was then referred to Dr. Ira Stone for this procedure. I arrived for the app in considerable pain and was told the extraction would cost $1095 and NOT $375!! I went ahead with the $1095, having the tooth pulled. After a few days I had some concerns about the procedure and called Dr. Stones nurse, who scheduled another consult. When I arrived for this app, Dr. Stone was quite obviously not happy to see me.....he came into the room with me and somehow managed to spend a whole 10 seconds! No joke!!! He stuck a mirror tool in my mouth and announced "you are fine!!!" When I voiced a concern about the procedure, he looked at me and said "Keep your fingers out of your mouth and it will heal fine" He stormed out of the room, I said wait a minute.....and he just kept walking. Bottom line here is that I will NEVER see Dr. Stone again for any reason and I would not bring my dog, or a goat to this guy for any reason whatsoever!!!! This guy has no people skills at all...and I mean NONE!!! I sincerely hope that someone brings this review to the attention of Dr. Slingbaum and he then reconsiders who he shares his office space with! Having an irrational fear of all forms of dental work due to a sadistic childhood dentist…read more(unmerciful drilling, choking, dismissive, getting yelled at, etc) and particularly nervy teeth, I likened a root canal to (insert ANY form of horrible, painful,torture here...) Dr Slingbaum was excellent!! There was no pain or discomfort at all during the procedure and the process was fast. Sans nitrous oxide - which I usually need! I would highly recommend Dr Slingbaum if you need an endodontist.
