It took almost 2 hrs for the food to get to the table. Forgot one order totally The forgotten order they forgot came out 1/2 hr later and had taste like plastic. Only 1 waiter and maybe 2 cooks. Bathrooms were dirty, no hand soap in women's and men's bathroom. The one toilet somebody vomited and didn't even flush and there was stuff in the other. Paradise is located in a nice strip mall in Meridian Township that offers plenty of parking. Upon entering the team members welcome you and show you to your table. Everyone we encountered was kind and helpful you are given a bottle water and napkin dispensers are at the table. There is plenty of seating and the restaurant is clean and organized. The food was decent, definitely fresh but the strong Indian flavors I'm accustomed to weren't present. I had a hard time selecting my meal and the team member that assisted me in making my selection was patient. While I didn't end up with what I envisioned, I blame only myself, the food was tasty. The garlic naan is terrific and a nice accompaniment to the fried paneer. The chicken fried rice was served with a side of ketchup. I asked what it was for and was told it was for my rice. Bizarre? Perhaps but it was tasty and I had rice for two other meals! I will perhaps try Paradise again but there are several other local Indian restaurants that I will return to first. read more

Food was so good!! The different meats we got were all tender (chicken, goat - first time!); it smelled and tasted great, they ask you about spice level as it definitely seemed to be made fresh to order. We all ordered something different and ate like family style. Service was great, very pleasant and helpful; we didn't wait overly long for our food at all. I'd say prices are good for what you get, no one in my group had any complaints! read more

Very disappointing experience. My friend and I waited close to 2 hours for our food! He was served first, and I waited almost another hour after that. I also noticed that several tables who arrived after us were served before we were. It honestly felt like we were being overlooked. As someone trying Indian food for the first time, this was not a good first impression. I won't be returning. read more

I would like to thank the owners of Paradise for a wonderful birthday lunch. Not only was my food incredible, they gifted me a mango lassi just because. Kindness is free and I felt so much kindness when our waitress offered not only the lassi for my son and I to enjoy but she offered to play with my kiddo as we waited for our food and so that I could actually enjoy my meal. I cannot thank them enough. The palak paneer is my favorite dish and it came out so fragrant and seasoned. The butter chicken which is also a favorite was tender and creamy and equally delicious. This is my favorite place for freshly toasted naan and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. It's been years since I've been able to enjoy a meal and not just fast force feed myself with my kid being the wild toddler he is. I'm forever grateful! And will forever come to this place when I'm in Okemos! This place is a Paradise in this area!! read more

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would--solely because of the terrible experience I had with one particular server/cashier. My wife placed an online order, and I arrived a little after the indicated pickup time, expecting a quick and seamless process. Instead, I found myself dealing with an employee who seemed more interested in playing power games than simply handing me the food I had already paid for. I gave him my wife's name, which is unique enough that there's no chance of confusion. Rather than checking the order list and handing over the food, he kept asking me to repeat the name--over and over--like he couldn't just match it with what was clearly visible on his screen. Then, despite both of us literally seeing the correct name on his monitor, he refused to give me the order unless I could verify it on my phone. I've picked up food from countless restaurants and never once had to go through this ridiculous verification process. What is this, some kind of classified government operation? I called my wife to confirm, but she didn't pick up, leaving me stuck in this absurd situation while my fully paid-for food sat behind the counter. His excuse? He was afraid of giving me the DoorDash order by mistake. But let's be clear--I wasn't some random delivery driver. I was a paying customer, standing there in person, giving him the correct name while he had the order details right in front of him. At this point, I was visibly frustrated, and yet he still refused to hand over the food. It wasn't until someone from the kitchen came out--clearly sensing the tension--and reassured me that "it's okay" that things finally moved forward. Just from the way they said it, I got the feeling that this isn't the first time this employee has caused issues. Sure enough, when the food was finally handed to me, it was obvious that it had been sitting there for quite some time. Meaning this entire ordeal was completely unnecessary. This should have been a two-minute pickup process, yet this employee dragged it into a five- to ten-minute frustration-fest for absolutely no reason. I don't know if he enjoys messing with customers or if he truly believes he's on some kind of security mission, but either way, it was beyond unacceptable. Management needs to seriously reconsider keeping this guy on staff because he single-handedly ruined my experience. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

My husband and I just had such a yummy dinner at Paradise across from Meridian Mall and The Pilgrim House! There are some recent reviews on Yelp (that we didn't see until after we got there and ordered) that talk about a 2+ hour wait time for food. We were sat, had our order taken, and we're eating within 30 minutes of being there. Everything was so delicious. We will definitely be back. The workers said something about being under new management and to expect the buffet to return in about a month or so it will be nice to try a variety of things when they do that we had the old city biryani and the assorted bread basket with butter chicken. Happened in when a closer place was too full. So happy we did! The place was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was exactly the amount of spice I wanted without being bland. My mouth starts to water when I think about the lunch I had here. The mildly spicy shrimp vindaloo was served with fresh carrots, onions, cilantro. Great flavor combination! Buttered chicken was delicious. Also glad we tried the garlic naan! It was all very good. We went mild on the spice level for shrimp vindaloo & that was the right call. horrible experience. services is very slow hope you have no where to go for 3 hours. you'll get chicken with no rice. when you ask for rice you'll get ignored and he will just walk away. maybe by the time my chicken is stone ass cold I can get some rice but things aren't looking up. bathrooms are very dirty with no soap in the men's or women's so that's good and sanitary. my grandmas food never showed up, doesn't look like that's going to come. I will never ever be back here especially with the food we did get was so mediocre. if I could give a 0 star this would be the place that deserves it. looks like I have to go to chick fil a for dinner now. read more

Brought us warm bottles of Kirkland water instead of bringing glasses and a pitcher of water like they have every time we visited previously. Assumed an issue and thought nothing of it. Asked if we wanted more water, said yes. Got a bill including waters at the end of the meal (which wasn't great compared to previous visits either) and usually I don't bother with reviews but come on. I did a buffet to go and buffet is for you to choose what you want and serve yourself to go. Which is always done everywhere in this place as well but today I went in for a buffet to go and the guy who didn't have many people insisted on serving my buffet and kept putting portions of food, I didn't want them telling me they have to put what they want and not what I want which is insane is buffet and I'm paying for it. I should be saving myself in the first place and then I should be choosing the choice of food I want, but he kept putting mango whatever and many many things I don't even know and I don't want. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. They might have to look up what the meaning of buffet is and dude was saving my food. He just came from the register, no gloves and didn't wash and then he put food in my plate and the food was taken out. Lunch buffet was terrible. Most of the time there was zero naan available and when they brought out the 8 pieces, it went in 30 seconds. The only thing I liked was the vegetable masala, but I only got a half a scoop as they never refilled it. No one came to get our dirty plates, check on us nor did they ask us if we wanted any more water. (Kirkland room temperature bottle of water.). Every other bite, my husband had to spit out a non-consumable piece. I avoided the chicken dishes after biting into a narly chunk. A half hour before the buffet ended the staff started loading their plates with no new food coming out. I wouldn't go back if it was free. read more

I came here a few years ago for the lunch buffet and remember loving it - it was all so good. Today stopped in for lunch. No one else was in there. Menus lack descriptions so if you are not familiar with Indian food it could be a challenge. Paneer was clearly spoiled and 2 vegetarian entrees were greasy and had no flavor other than some heat. Servers never came to check on us. Finally went up to pay after barely eating anything. Explained paneer was spoiled and they still charged us. I politely asked they remove the dosa from the bill and he did but still $35 for bad food. Next time will go to Sindhu or Swagath in East Lansing. read more

Paradise had an decent selection on their lunch buffet this weekend. The butter chicken was good, as was the chilly chicken, although I don't recommend the chilly chicken if you have a low heat tolerance as it was pretty spicy. I really enjoyed the mushroom dish, as well as the rice, veg Hakka noodles and naan. As for the desserts, the Pista Kulfi was delicious, but the mango left a little to be desired. I also loved the gulab jaman, which was like a warm, dense, sweet, donut soaked in sweet syrup. We thought the price was reasonable for the buffet and we will probably be back. read more

Best Indian food I've ever had in Michigan!! Seriously....awesome! Went to visit our daughter up at MSU, she wanted Indian and said this was great; she was right. Decor of the restaurant is spartan at best ( I know... MSU...Spartans..I get it). This place resembles a fast food restaurant with vinyl booths and Formica tables, but it's clean and if the food is great (and it is), then who cares. Staff was really friendly and things came out pretty quickly. Everything we had was delicious. It was very fresh, not the reheated prefab stuff served at many Indian restaurants I've been to. The thing that sets this place above all others is that the spicy versions we ordered weren't just painful, bland heat or just plain bland unspicy food; they were FLAVORFUL heat that made your nose run but you couldn't stop eating it because it was so delicious. Portions were good size and plenty of tender chicken in all the entrees we ordered. Unfortunately, we live an hour away. But you folks that live close should go here, perhaps try taking out if you want some booze with your meal (no liquor license here). We had dinner here tonight, and everything was delicious. The paneer Manchurian appetizer was perfectly spicy. I had the chicken kurma, which was spicy without being overwhelming. That chicken was tender. My husband had a dish with prawns that he said he couldn't stop eating even though he was full. The menu has a lot of options, but based on what we had, you probably can't go wrong. Had shrimp biryani and paneer tikka masala with butter naan and bullet naan. The bullet naan had green chiles on top, I really enjoyed it. The food was all very tasty. I will be excited to come one day when they have the buffet. This place was very good. It is really nice to have a good quality authentic Indian restaurant in the Lansing/East Lansing area. Butter chicken, shrimp masala, naan with the ground lamb and Tandoori chicken were what we ordered and they were all very tasty. Service was very good. I would recommend they invest in a fountain pop machine as soda is in cans. Also a beer/wine selection would also compliment the cuisine. We will definitely eat here again. By the far the strangest restaurant I have been to in the Lansing area. The place had dirty booths even we came in at most 15 minutes after they reopened for dinner. Without asking our preference, they offered us bottled water at the outset (my wife and I hate single-use plastics). Two different radio stations were blaring (one in English and one in an Indian language) over each other. The last straw was a phone that was allowed to ring at least 15 times right next to us with caller ID and the ringtone at maximum volume. We cancelled our order and went to the pho place next door. Worst meal - ever!! Ordered a very basic Indian food. All i got was a piece of garbage. Food is mostly frozen and re-heated food. Prices are too hight for the food they serve. Placed an order for pickup today. When I went in to pick up my order employee wasn't wearing face mask or gloves.

Walked in and there was a lunch buffet. Felt really awkward as soon as we walked in, didn't know if we sat ourselves or went to the counter. Waited at the counter for an awkward amount of time and no one said anything even though they saw us so we just sat down. As far as the buffet, everything was out, the guy at the table next to us said there was nothing and asked for them to make more... we ate, then went to the counter and paid. No interaction.
