Shrimp vindaloo, butter chicken & garlic naan - they were all fabulous!
    Samantha M.

My mouth starts to water when I think about the lunch I had here. The mildly spicy shrimp vindaloo was served with fresh carrots, onions, cilantro. Great flavor combination! Buttered chicken was delicious. Also glad we tried the garlic naan! It was all very good. We went mild on the spice level for shrimp vindaloo & that was the right call. Be careful if you don't have strong spice tolerance. They are located in a small strip mall. If you blink, you will miss it.

We were visiting a friend in Lansing the 4th of July weekend and visited this Indian restaurant. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Great portions for the curries and it was served with rice. The service was very good. Highly recommend Malai Kofta and Phool Makhana Curry with Onion Kulcha or Garlic Naan.

Okra and eggplant. Not much flavor and a ton of oil/grease.

Possibly the best Indian restaurant in the area. The hours are a bit annoying if you want to eat before 5:30 but worth the wait.

Placed an order for pickup today. When I went in to pick up my order employee wasn't wearing face mask or gloves.

The fellow who waited on us had such a thick accent we could barely understand him, the lady bussing dishes didn't speak any English. But with pointing at the menu and careful listening we got our orders in. The food arrived pretty quickly, and it was amazing with plenty for leftovers. I found a bit of star anise in mine which just proves the sauces are home-made and not dumped out of a jar (like some places do). The rice was sprinkled with black sesame seeds just for that added extra, and the naan was hot and soft. The atmosphere was...odd. No music at all, which made it feel awkward. Boxes and storage and piles of supplies crowded the dining room and plenty of Christmas decorations were still up (we visited in March mind you). The restroom was clean and decorated for spring with an exorbitant quantity of silk flower arrangements on the counter. They were out of chai Masala, so I'd ordered something called "rose milk" which I never did receive but at least I wasn't charged for it. Again, the language gap proved to be a real thing to contend with. By the time we left around 8:20 the place was empty, but then it was a Thursday night. The food was worth putting up with the rest of it, and looking forward to dining there again.

Delicious. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for good Indian cuisine in the EL arearead more

The freshness of the produce was the first thing I recognized in the buffet. Normally the texture feels off in a buffet but this reminded me of the freshness of my auntie's garden in India. The chickpeas were not over or undercooked (steam cooked?) and the raita was the rich consistency of home, not the quick and watered down version typical in casual fare. I am vegetarian and cannot speak to the meat dishes, but felt like some real heart was behind the cooking. Perhaps the Naan was the only drawback, losing its texture made in bulk perhaps. But the taste relied less on salt and oil and more on the ingredients and a sense of freshness on many items I might serve in my own home. I cook these dishes at home and on a few I felt like asking for some cooking tips.

The service isn't the fastest. It is good service at the same time. The food came out hot and full of spices just the way I like it. The samosas were flaky with a satisfying vegetable filling. The curry shrimp and fish had a medium plus heat which was just right for me. I would eat here again.

The Chicken Tikka Masala was absolute perfection, velvety, creamy, and hit the perfect spice level. The naan was also excellent, fresh and pillowy. However, I was really disappointed with the Lamb Biryani. The meat was unfortunately dry, extremely fatty, and lacked flavor. I'd previously tried the Butter Chicken, which was decent, so there's definitely potential here if you order the right thing. Pros: Massive parking lot and plenty of indoor seating. They have a buffet! (Didn't realize this until we arrived, but a great perk). Food is well-packaged for takeout. Cons: Service over the phone was a bit "prickly" and felt rushed. Pro Tip: Read the menu on DoorDash before ordering; it actually provides much better descriptions of the dishes than their official website or Toast.

We ordered Paneer Masala, Lamb Curry, naan, and lassi to go. The total came out to just under $60, which I expected to be comparable to other similar places I've tried. I'm from California, so this definitely isn't my first experience with ethnic food. I'm very familiar with these flavors and even cook them myself. Unfortunately, the tadka didn't seem to be cooked long enough because the masala tasted more like Campbell's soup than a traditional curry. We didn't finish the food and ended up ordering from somewhere else. I'm glad I tried it, but personally it wasn't my favorite.
