I've continued coming to this salon over the past year because, frankly, there are limited options in Northern Wisconsin. During that time, I realized the quality of my nails depended almost entirely on which technician I saw. That's not to say every technician was bad--quite the opposite. Randy, Alan, and Wii consistently did beautiful work, and one newer technician gave me one of the best sets I've had since living in the city. The shape was flawless--a slim, perfectly sculpted coffin set. When I returned for a fill, I asked for him again. The owner told me she had fired him because she "didn't like him." That was disappointing to hear, especially considering how talented he was. My final appointment was with the owner. When I got home, I immediately noticed acrylic had been applied over my cuticles on multiple nails. These weren't matters of personal preference--they were obvious application issues that can lead to lifting and chipping because the product was placed on the skin instead of just the nail. I've attached photos so others can judge for themselves. What disappointed me most wasn't that mistakes were made--everyone makes mistakes. It was that the owner refused to acknowledge or correct obvious workmanship issues. Instead, I was refunded and ultimately fired as a client. I also wouldn't recommend choosing this salon because of a specific technician. In my experience, there's no guarantee you'll actually be able to continue seeing the person whose work you love. Technicians come and go, requests aren't always honored, and the quality can vary dramatically depending on who you get. Expecting every technician to produce identical results simply isn't realistic because every nail tech has different strengths and techniques. I genuinely wanted to keep supporting this business. I was happy to spend my money there and tip the technicians whose work I trusted. Unfortunately, being dismissed as a client for raising legitimate concerns about obvious application issues was disappointing and unprofessional. To Randy, Alan, and Wii--thank you. Had to wait over 30 minutes past appt time to have a nail tech start. Paid for pedicure that was done pretty quickly and polish looks sloppy. Still have rough heels. The nail tech was rough with my feet in moving them where she wanted them. Paid for mani that required old polish be removed first. It was not taken off properly. It was a no chip and tech left rough layer of sticky on my nails that show through polish. Nails cut different length on hands. When painting my toes she touched my big toe messing up the polish. Instead of cleaning polish and redoing nail she polished over the gouge of polish she made when she smudged it. It looks terrible. All in all I was not impressed with this place at all. Oh the kicker was that the manager was screaming loudly at another customer to never come back again if she didn't like the work. The lady looked embarrassed and spoke softly to nail tech/manager but the Manager continued to yell loudly at customer to never come back again. It made the other customers very uncomfortable. They clearly overbook so you have to wait and do not take pride in their work was my experience. I would not recommend based on my experience. read more

These people were rude...plain and simple. I went there the other day with my daughter for pedicures and my daughter got no chip manicure. The guy doing my toes was gruff and unfriendly. He did an adequate job. There was another lady working on an older woman's nails and she was incredibly rude to this older woman. The lady who did my daughter's toes and nails was dismissive of my daughter and tried to do what she wanted to do. Just because she is a kid doesn't mean her opinions don't matter. I paid good money and expected that we would be treated in a more friendly way and that my daughter's opinions of her own nails would be adhered to. Never again!! I've been getting dip manicures every 2-3 weeks for 10 years. I know the process. The Watera location sent me in town for a dip. The young man who started burned my nailbeds a couple times because he was trying to use the roller thing too deep. Then after wrapping with cotton, acetone and foil I was trying to speed up the process by rubbing the cotton on my nails. The owner freaked out. Shes telling me not to do that. I explain I was just trying to speed up the process. Where I usually get my nails done I can have the thick dip off in 10 minutes with acetone and paper towels. Owner is yelling at me that's not what they do. I let her know I was trying to help while waiting for whoever is going to the dip. She kicked me out! Really? I was just trying to help y'all as they were busy. Owner just dismissed me and waved me away. I am not one to write reviews. But this has to have a BEWARE NOTICE !!! My husband surprised me with a mani/pedi appointment. Just moved to our home we gave had in the area. He wants me to get settled with amenities I enjoy . He called a few places this was only one with availability last night. I walked in to something I should have walked right out of. But I didn't want to disappoint my husband with his nice gesture. FILTHY from first glance. Tech looked as if she rolled out of bed. How bad can a basic mani /pedi be. Was 20 min pedi. that was the worst pedicure I have ever had. $45 for the basic and I had to redo the polish when I got home. Really bad. i asked him to fix some spots where he got polish all over the cuticle. He tried to fix it with some polish remover but it just made it worse. Very quick too - the foot and calf massage lasted MAYBE 2 minutes. I will not be back. read more

Had 2 different appointments here. First was a fill. I knew they did not use the same products I get at home (gel) but the fill was very nicely done and just what I needed to keep my nails from falling off on my vacation. They looked great. Following week had a pedicure - also very good service and results. I was concerned because I'd read the reviews - but the people writing them must just be very grumpy and picky. Absolutely terrible service. I brought my own polish so I can touch up as needed. They lost it. Technician talked on her phone with ear piece most of my appointment. Also, she did not speak enough English so that I could communicate what I needed. For example, I cannot have deep leg massages because of potential blood clotting issues? I left with 4 bleeding abrasions from her roughness and inexperience. When she noticed the bleeding she blotted it with some cotton, went to find some kind of solution, and touched the cotton with my blood on it to the bottle. How many other people's blood was touched to that bottle? I kept saying "no", "what are you putting on my foot"? She didn't answer and did it anyway, probably because she did not speak any English and no education about blood borne pathogens. read more

I was in town and got my nails done for a wedding, They had a young boy doing my nails who seemed very disinterest and did not know what he was doing. He spent a long time filing and buffing my nails, and then another worker came and took over and redid everything he had done. I made an appointment three days in advance for my 2 daughter-in-laws for pedis. I own a cabin in the area and they were visiting with our family for the week. I thought this would be a nice break from everyone and the kids. When we arrived we were promptly seated in the pedi chairs. Two of us had nails techs and one of us did not. No explanation or communication. They finished with 2 of us and then finally someone came to take care of the third one. No apologies or anything. Found this quite rude. The techs were very rough with all 3 on the scraper and actually left scabs on all of us. We each said OW at least once in the appointment. I left an over 20% tip as I am a generous tipper and after leaving and discussing the service with my DILs I am very sorry I did. The nail polish was not applied evenly. I had to redo 3 toes and trim 2 to make them even. One of my DILs has 2 throbbing big toes because he cut them so deep. I am sorry to say that I will not return here and it was a disappointing experience for nearly $170. read more

Lam did my nails. I am very picky. I have been getting my nails done since I was 17 and I am 52. She couldn't have done a better job. This is exactly what I was looking for living in urban areas. The majority of my life I want a nail salon that I can walk into, get my nails done, get in and get out with fabulous looking hands and feet. They accomplish this 100%. Missed the sides and some tops of my nails with polish. When I asked her to fix at least two of the more obvious she yelled-yes yelled-at me that I was a "picky lady". And then did not fix them. Made an appointment for 2 pedicures. Our appointment time was 1:00 pm. We were taken to the pedi chairs at 1:15. My 80 year old mom wanted nail art on her one toe. She was not offered this. This was my third appointment there. The first two went OK, however, Lam was very unfriendly and didn't talk much but my nails looked pretty good. This time she would not listen to me when I told her that the polish was going on lumpy and leaving blotches, she just kept working and ignoring me like I wasn't even speaking to her. She didn't offer to fix it or changed to a different polish. They were not filed evenly and I asked her to dip one nail that was damaged in an accident when I was a kid and doesn't grow evenly. She said, no she would just put extra paint and I asked her to please dip that Nail, so she dipped it and then wiped the dip off. When I showed it to the man at the register, which I believe is her husband, he said he couldn't see the flaws in the manicure. It is the worst gel polish I have ever had and he still charged full price even though I could show him the areas where it was splotchy and bumpy. I will not go back there again. We had an appointment for three people and one of us did not have time to get hers done. I am leaving only one star which I rarely do. I went for a pedicure with a friend. Her pedicure was stellar and the person who did hers was very professional and took her time. My pedicure started probably 20 minutes (we had the same appointment time) after hers started and I kid you not, mine took a total of 20 minutes. I was not asked which one of the two I wanted (I would have done the longer one) and it was completely RUSHED. The calf and foot massage was literally 30 seconds long. My friend's pedicure lasted an hour and I was done long before her. I was extremely disappointed (understatement) and when I mentioned that commenting that it was the worst and fasted pedicure I have ever had in my life, they just nodded at me. I don't know the person's name who did my pedicure and I wouldn't call her out here anyway, but go elsewhere to be sure you don't have the same experience as I did. read more
