This is a great neighborhood park, especially for little ones. It is fully enclosed so you don't have to worry about your kids running off and there are 2 play structures, 2 swing sets, and 2 benches. Downside is there are no bathrooms and I don't love the wood chips that can get stuck on kid's clothes. read more

Great little neighborhood park! It's gated, which is great for little ones. The playground and equipment is well maintained (esp compared to some other parks) and there is a little toddler/kid section and a bigger kid section. Has swings too. Woodchips instead of sand as well. Easy street parking. Has a basketball court, also gated. No restrooms Shade is kinda tough to find- would be my one downside Safe! read more

This review is for the kids summer camp that is based at this park, and set up by the city of Torrance, not the park. My kids love this camp. they take them on field trips to Knotts soak city, local pool, Medevil Knights, discovery cube, dodger game, sparks game, muligans, local farmers market. Lots of cool trips, some of the trips do require some extra money for lunch or gifts, but the main ticket entry is included in the kids camp fee. all the camp instructors are very nice people and take good care of the kids. cost wise is not bad, mid range so thats ok. they are at the camp from 830-am to 430 pm ish. easy sign in and out. if your looking to get rid of your kids for some of the day in the summer this camp is a good one. we will dump the kids here in future years. the park itself seems ok, in the day. the kids have played in the park and seem to like it. read more

This review is for the City of Torrance day camp. My daughter attended the winter camp this past break and had the time of her life. I was a little nervous because she was only 6, and on the younger side of the age range, and we didn't know anyone else attending. All of the teachers/counselors were super friendly and made her comfortable, and they were extra cautious about watching the kids and about check in/check out. I really like that they break out into groups based on age, so that she's surrounded by her age appropriate peers. Looking forward to summer camp here this year! read more

[Review #285] 2018 Yelp 100 Challenge (50/100) We live near this park but never visited (for good reason... I'll explain in a moment). The reason why we're here today is to check out the park because my 2 year old son will be taking a music activity class in a couple of weeks. I'm weary of exposing my kids to parks because of sanitation/hygiene concerns... mainly irresponsible dog owners that allow their pets to poop & pee where kids play. Case in point, my daughter spots a huge pile of turd near the slide's exit. :-| WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?! If you can't clean up after your dog, you really shouldn't have one. I don't want to be THAT helicopter mom because I have to make sure my child doesn't play with or shove poop on himself. I want him to be able to play & explore freely without worrying about crap -- literally & figuratively. I didn't have anything to pick it up with so I buried it under the wood chips. If anyone reading this post & has a bag or towel, it's under a small mound of wood chips near the green slide that's facing north towards El Dorado St. I'll be back in a couple of weeks for the classes armed with hand sanitizer, change of clothes, & plenty of bags & paper towels. But as a community, we need to do better to take care of it so everyone can enjoy the parks! read more

Love this little park! I love that it's gated and it's a little neighborhood park that many of us locals come to. My kids love coming here. Only down fall is there is not a public restroom. So it's REALLY just a little neighborhood park. We've had many parties here though and have came countless times. As long as people continue to close the gates, it can be a safe choice to bring your child to. Makes me feel more at ease to allow my children to run around and really enjoy themselves as I watch from the green benches within the gate. (I'm pregnant so I don't run after them the whole time. But happy to see them be able to run around safely & "freely"!) read more

I live very close to this park. It's ok. There's nothing great about it. The park was recently remodeled, and now it's more big kid oriented then ever! I used to bring my 3 year old daughter(at the time she was 2) here all the time. It was great for all ages of kids. I like that they added more swings and they added some new perks that are fun additions to the park, but honestly I like it better the way it was before. You can see pictures of the before and after on this page. I like how the park was before they remodeled it because it was more baby and toddler friendly. Now the park is made for older kids and it's not so great for my daughter anymore. Another thing I don't like about this park, is that their are a lot of kid bullies that go here. Since the young kids and the older kids have to share the same space, the older kids seem to think they own the place. I'm not saying all of them act bad, because their are a lot of very polite and sweet older kids that come here too, but mostly it's just a wild mess of older kids pushing the younger kids around without a care in the world. My daughter has had wood chips thrown in her face 3 times by the same kid. She's been pushed to the ground. She's been told by older kids to get off the play equipment, and that she wasn't allowed. She's been repeatedly tormented by these two boys that were constantly harassing her. It got to the point where my daughter involved the boys parents before I even got a chance to! She went straight up to the mom and said "they are being mean to me!" My daughter is the sweetest little girl. She never does stuff like that. She's a good girl, she's polite, and respectful of the other kids and she's extremely social. She will go and introduce herself to kids and try and make friends. Since they did what they did to the park, I just no longer care to come here as much. I don't want to risk my kid losing her sweet social personality over kids being horrible to her at this particular park after the remodel. It's too bad because it used to be a great place to release her energy since it is such a close park. read more

Today was my child's first day at this camp. The staff seemed nice though not overly welcoming to the children. No one acknowledged my kids or even said, "Welcome." My kids told me they watched a movie. A movie? I'm pretty sure I could have provided this at home. When I asked my six year-old what she did, she said she couldn't remember. I get that they aren't going to be canoeing or fishing but a movie? Be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. 1st day and I'm already disappointed. read more
