We have been going to this marina for several years now, everytime we plan to go fishing at the Delta. The service is quick and nice once you get there. They let you know on how the conditions are out there. Minimal paperwork. Insurance costs you $16, not bad at all. We usually rent the basic boats with a canopy over our heads for fishing. It does its job. Yesterday they said they ran out of those canopy boats for us because all of them were being reserved, so we bummed out. Scorching hot sun and no canopy for the whole day = burnt skin and us going home early. Once we were about to load, one of the workers checked out what they had left, and TADA... They had one random canopy boat left. Thank God! They do go out of their way to help customers out! If you are planning to rent jet skis here, they stopped doing that a few years ago. I recommend making reservations just in case!

We grew up on the delta, every year we would rent a house boat and tow our ski boat. These were some of the best memories. It has been many many years since we had rented house boats and with my parents getting older and have grandchildren they wanted them to experience the delta as well. The staff at paradise point was great. I called and placed 2 house boats and a ski boat on hold for a weeks rental. My dad also called to place the house boat rentals (a little bit of miscommunication with the family) and the staff not only figured out it was a second request but were able to accomidate the different family members paying for the rentals. I am sure it would have been easier to have one person pay and the rest of the family pay them, however Paradise Point made it very easy for us to pay individually which was very helpful!

On Sunday July 3, my wife and I with our 2 boys (ages 20 and 18) rented a ski boat for a day from Paradise Point. We rented a 19' Commander with tower, small sun shade and 150 HP outboard motor - along with skis, wakeboard, kneeboard, tow line, and PFDs. The boat and ski equipment worked well. The staff was helpful and friendly. Andy gave us advice about where to go on the Delta. Adam checked us onto the boat and gave us the ski equipment. Our day on the Delta was fun. After wheel-barreling our food from our car to the boat, we sped west on the White Slough past King Island Resort to the San Joaquin River. We started skiing on the western side of Medford Island, and skied for most of the day on Columbia Cut in the area just south of St Francis Yacht Club.

Beautiful place! It only took an hour to get there. The weather was amazing. The Spellman family will be there again!

Great place to launch with plenty of parking when we went. We were in and out quickly. Steep launch ramp.

Ask the Community - Paradise Point on the Delta

    Can you swim the river?

Yes. The water is brackish and during the summer it can be 75 to 80 degrees. If you do swim, be careful of boats moving fast down the river. It is best if you have an orange flag up while in the water.

I had to stop by the front gate twice during my trip, and both times they were incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. They answered all of my questions, made the check-in process easy, and genuinely made me feel welcome. Aryan especially went above and beyond. Great customer service can be hard to find these days, and he deserves to be recognized for how kind, professional, and helpful he was. Madi was just as wonderful--both of them really set the tone for a great camping trip. Thank you both for making my visit such a positive experience. Employees like Aryan and Madi are a huge asset to Lake Camanche, and I hope they get the recognition they deserve. I'll definitely be back!

I used to come here every year, but after this trip, we'll never be back. Don't try to sneak alcohol, they do check and they will walk around your campsite every 10 mins. The rangers constantly patrol campsites and frequently show up unannounced, making it hard to enjoy your stay. We were kicked out of our campsite because they found a beer on our table. (Yes, we were aware no alcohol, but cmon we're camping)! Then we were told to be out by 8:00 AM the next morning. We were already packed up and actively loading our vehicle when a ranger approached us at 8:01 AM and immediately accused us of trespassing. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he told us to "hurry up and pack your stuff, and get the fuck out" and stop "lollygagging." We were literally in the process of leaving. These american rangers were on a power trip, super entitled, thinking they're above the law and talking to us like we were animals, if not worse. So in other words, they must really love their jobs, or they're unhappy with their lives. The entire experience felt unnecessarily hostile and aggressive. Being nice will go a long way. We were super nice and respectful and didn't argue back. Wish we got the same energy back. There are plenty of other campgrounds where visitors are treated with respect.

I brought my boat in to have speakers installed and the gauges repaired, which were not functioning. After a diagnostic, I was advised to replace the impeller. I agreed, thinking it made sense to get everything done while the boat was already in the shop. When I returned to pick up the boat, the total cost was significantly higher than what I was originally quoted -- with no prior communication or explanation. On top of that, the interior of my boat was returned to me in unacceptable condition: oil and grease stains on the carpet and seats, as if there was no regard whatsoever for cleanliness or care. To make matters worse, after using the boat twice, the speakers and amplifier already stopped working. I reached out, hoping for a reasonable conversation about resolving the issue, only to be told it's not covered. No accountability. No effort to make it right. And as a final touch, a cup holder went missing during the installation -- which they also dismissed. If you're looking to overpay, have your boat treated carelessly, and receive subpar workmanship, this is the place. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

The hubs and I decided to take a late evening ride on the river tonight....after all the crazies got off! Buckley Cove is open 24 hours and has a guard shack with a guard on duty. There's a nice park right on the water for picnicking, restroom facilities and an RV park too. It's owned by the city, conveniently located just 5-10 minutes from March Lane & Interstate 5 and is an easy tootle to the downtown waterfront or the Windmill Cove area. We had a few surprises tonight. A fireworks show to the north and later in the evening one to the south west. It was unexpected since tonight was the 3rd. We also relaxed on the water listening to the bullfrogs serenade us. Before pulling back into Buckley Cove, Bob asked if I'd like to go downtown. Sure. The Downtown Marina was almost full, a hip band was playing Tower of Power tunes from the patio of Chivita's and baby ducks were swimming in a row near the events center. We lingered to hear the band and then headed back to the cove. All in all a very nice 3rd of July evening. We thought it would be insane to be out on the river on the 4th of July since literally 5-6 thousand boats get on the river to watch either the downtown fireworks or the Barron Hilton fireworks every year....could you imagine trying to get "off" the water after the show is over?
