They are always really kind and willing to strike up a casual conversation, or simply let you browse in peace if that's your style. The space here is really open, and the minimalist architecture really lets the window views shine. The design is quite open concept with plenty of study spaces, cafe seating, booth seating, and taller tables. Outside, you can also bring some books you borrowed to read out in the midst of nature. I've written lesson plans here, picked up cook books, and graded a bunch of student papers for hours without interruption. It's way easier to find a seat here than in the downtown library, and it's much easier to park. If you have kids, there's a lego table in the back and plenty of puppets to play with at a stage. Along the side of the children's section, there are a few toddler-friendly learning installments. There's a designated teen area as well with a robust Studio NPL program that the librarians can talk to your teens more about, particularly afterschool programming. Excellent, much like the rest of the Nashville public library system.

Hopefully, not the latter. On my first visit, I asked my GPS for help in locating this building, but it was useless as it took me to Dell instead. (The facility is on the OTHER side of the air bridge.) I finally turned into the park from Murfreesboro Pike, and despite my so-called "detailed" directions, I still had difficulty locating my point of entry. The only main entrance that was apparent belonged to the traffic school, in which I was not there to attend. I finally drove around to the back of this building, where I found the entrance I was looking for. Don't let this building's exterior fool you; the interior is really quite nice. But have your ID ready to show the guard. They take the guest list seriously.

I love this branch of the library! It is so convenient to where I live and many other things. The…read morestaff is always so friendly and helpful. I saw that an earlier review had concerns about the hold process - those have been fixed! The hold shelves are in far corner when you walk in and there are self-checkout options. I mainly use the hold system, but it seems like there is so much great programming, especially for kids, whenever I go by. The one challenge is that the branch has more limited hours than other branches. It can be hard to get there after work before the 6:00pm close. And I inevitably realize that I haven't picked up my holds yet when they are closed on Sunday! I hope that they add Sunday hours - even if just a few like other branches.

We stayed almost an hour. While there are more play amenities at the downtown Main Library, the book selection is as good or better for children. The books are generally in better shape, as were toys to keep the kids occupied while you browse or check out. Overall, it was less crowded, cleaner and quieter. If you're on this side of town, stop in and stay a while.

No one was in line when I walked to the voting area. The booths weren't as private as I would have liked but the screens were easy to read and the process was understandable.

But I digress...the Green Hills branch has one of the best book selections in Nashville without going downtown. I can always find a book at this location, and thoroughly enjoy my visits here! The place is vibrant and well maintained (take note Richland Branch!!) and is ideal for browsing the shelves for extended periods of time. They also have a good selection of computers to use, that are never overly crowded unlike some of the other locations. Just a library FYI.... you can request a book online and have it delivered to any location. The library will then call you to let you know it's ready for pick up, so when you visit, just look for your name, pick it up and go! You don't even have to go try to search for it in the shelves! It doesn't get much easier than that. For non readers, they also do the same with DVD's and have a variety of classics that you can't get a redbox or instant stream on Netflix. So what's your excuse? Visit the library and get happy!!

They have done a great job of adapting to COVID-19 precautions! All you have to do is call when you get there and your holds will get safely put into your trunk. The library is also keeping returned materials isolated for 5 days for extra safety so I have no concerns when I get materials. I have about 20 things on hold at any given time and I love to go pick them up!
