By far the largest of the Gaylords at nearly 2900 rooms…read more You will walk, and walk, and walk. You will get lost/confused where you are. Hopefully you'll have downloaded the app and gotten used to how it works early in your stay. Despite being a little worn around the edges, the atriums are impressive. It's a cool place to wander around. Lots of dining choices. Do not expect great food, and you'll find each restaurant offers a quite limited selection. But the variety will keep you fed over your stay. The valet service out front is very organized. All through the hotel they've refined how to smoothly handle a huge number of guests. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Book an atrium view room, it's a much cooler option than the outside views. King rooms have a comfortable upholstered chair and ottoman. The bed was quite comfortable, the pillows good quality, and the room could be kept dark and cold for great sleeping. Nice that there's a sink outside the bathroom door as well as one in the bathroom. Though the space is very tight, it at least allows one fo use the bathroom while another is getting ready. Netflix and Prime on the TVs. Our stay this visit was one night, so I didn't bother to check if an external device could be connected. Decent amount of plugs bedside and on the roomy desk. We'll make it a several night stay next visit, so we have more of a chance to explore. Footnote: if you're walking over to the Opry for a show, be aware that your feet are likely to already be tired from the Gaylord walking and it's a good ways to the Opry, with no benches between to take a break. We stayed in one of the rooms closest to the Opry facing hotel portico, and it was still a solid mile from room to Opry.

Even small details were off; one of my coffee packets was already opened and there was no sugar provided, which just added to the disappointment. The bed was another major issue--it was so firm that it actually hurt my back. We booked a two-queen room with a view of the inside park, which was nice, but unfortunately that was the only highlight. Everything else fell short. We also ordered in-room dining from the à la carte menu, and that was just as underwhelming. I paid $34 for pan-seared salmon, and it literally came as just a plain piece of salmon on top of rice--nothing else. For that price, I expected something much better. Honestly, I've had better salmon at places like Dave & Buster's for less. The charcuterie board was just as disappointing--$24 for four small pieces of mediocre meat. Overall, this was easily the worst staycation I've had. With all the hype surrounding this place, I truly expected much more.

I had my wedding here in June 2024 and had several issues. First off, I understand it's the south,…read morebut it felt like the coordinators steamrolled my husband, expecting him to have no opinion. Secondly, we specifically only looked at venues that allowed a rehearsal the night before, rather than the newly popular day of rehearsal, so I am 100% sure I asked. It was a criterion on my venue selection spreadsheet. When it got to planning, suddenly they said no we never said that, you cannot rehearse the day before unless there is no Friday wedding. I wait, there is no Friday wedding. Suddenly the response is "I mean I guess we could but there will be no coordinator and no DJ there to help rehearse. Why do you even care?" the gaslighting was astronomical. Additionally, our coordinator changed two separate times, and it felt like they did not remember a single thing I said about how I wanted the day to go or have any organized documents. When we met, I was constantly repeating myself and the owner would be shuffling through pages and pages of my emails printed rather than any type of organized documents. During day of coordination, my MIL hardly got to enjoy the day because they were so short staffed she basically turned into the coordinator. She ended up helping them find more golf carts day of when theirs weren't working. The DJ they provide was very unprofessional, he completely disregarded notes about a speech to happen during the mother son dance, was calling me with questions about my preferences (that id provided weeks prior) during the MORNING OF MY WEDDING. He also cut dancing 30 minutes short when I paid a ton of money for extra time. They also market the bridal suites as a place to get ready, then strongly discourage it or ask you to pay thousands of dollars extra for a few (insufficient) hours. There wasn't enough food and they did not understand the differences between vegetarian vegan and dairy free. These vegan plates were also given to whoever without them first asking if they'd selected the vegan option, so a couple vegans went hungry. As far as positives, I had a great experience with our coordinator, Lynn, when she was assisting us. Food was good, but cold. Bartenders were amazing. Space was beautiful. I had another venue listed as my #1 but ended up choosing this venue for price, but with all the add ons and additional prices it ended up being more expensive!
