What a nice family! The other reviews are spot on that this is one of the best places to buy teak furniture. The owners, a couple (and their little kids), are extremely nice and helpful. Their collection is smaller but similar in style to many other outdoor furniture stores. If you're not super picky about your teak's appearance, this place is as good as it gets! The prices are great for the quality. I looked at 5 places across the Bay Area and this place's teak is probably not as evenly-toned and knot-free as the others, but if the price is your biggest consideration, this place is perfect. When I asked about the knots, Paul explained that the knots are not at the critical places like the joints. Bottom-line, if money were no object, I'd probably buy from Blue Sky. This place is awesome - stop shopping around and visit Paradise Teak! We have a home on the coast in Monterey. I learned the hard way that eucalyptus and resin "wicker" are not equivalent to teak... no matter what the bogus marketing says. These other materials disintegrated in the salt air within two years. My teak lounge chairs, however, look beautiful and don't require a cover. So, when it came time to purchase a dining table set I knew it had to be teak. I'm pretty frugal so I researched this purchase to death. I looked online, browsed the catalogs, and visited local Bay Area outdoor furniture stores. The catalog & online stuff is generally low-quality eucalyptus or acacia. Most of the teak I found online is made with poor joinery and screws instead of dowels. These will definitely rust in salt air ... and even in the Bay Area, they're a liability. Furthermore, the shipping fees negated any savings. I was impressed with the design style at Terra Outdoor, but even with their biggest sale of the year, it was beyond expensive and the delivery fee was outrageous. That's when I found Paradise Teak! Most importantly, the quality is top notch. Paul and Mandy were incredibly helpful - the customer service was an 11 out of 10. (Seriously, they delivered the furniture to the Monterey area, set it up, and then even helped move a larger personal item back to Oakland for me. That's beyond customer service!) Also, if you're not in a hurry, they can custom make items! For us, that meant upsizing their standard outdoor table to 103" X 47". They also upsized their garden bench to 7 feet wide! We're brand new to the world of Teak, but have to say it should be a long and happy stay. We were going back and forth between rattan and teak and had come across Paradise's website doing our homework last year. Long story short, we made just the right call and with just the right folks. Paul & Mandy made it easy for us (Covid time) to come by and see what we thought we wanted, with some nice pricing too boot. We actually changed our minds once we got into the shop and happy we did. We fully laid out the back yard patios (dining and lounging) and everything looks beautiful!! Preservation effort is moderate, but I want the color to last longer than we do. To top it all off, the craftsmanship is solid; wood fits practically perfect, minimum over-glue, and smoooooth. We were even able to match the new umbrella to the cushions. After we got home with our awesome patio furniture, my fiance went to work putting on the teak sealer. He then tried to connect the base of the table to the top. Unfortunately after much effort he realized that the joints were misaligned and it wasn't go to happen. We called Paul and Mandy and explained the situation. Although this has never happened with one of their tables before they were quick to offer a solution. They gave us a new table as a replacement. Their level of customer service couldn't be higher and they clearly stand behind the quality of their product. This is a great local business, importing hand-made furniture, made from sustainably-harvested teak. It's a small mom & pop operation and the owners, Paul and Mandy, are easy to deal with. We love the furniture we bought from them. It was also less expensive than similar teak furniture we saw in online stores. The factory in Indonesia forgot to put our custom table in the container for shipping. We had a couple of parties scheduled and the owners delivered a loaner table for us to use until ours arrived. When ours did arrive, they delivered it and assembled it and made sure we were satisfied with it before they left. Last weekend I was about to take a gamble and buy off a store on the internet when I found an advertisement for Paradise Teak on craigslist. Made an appointment for the next day. We found a great teak extended table with reclining chairs for a very fair price. Mandy, one of the owners, was great. She showed us every option possible and was very patient while we made a decision. Paradise teak is run by Mandy and her husband, who started up the company after vacationing in Indonesia. They have reasonable prices because they do all the work themselves - buy, import, etc. - and they do not have an official showroom. Cutting out the middle (wo)man and any overhead costs. We dealt with Mandy and she seemed knowledgeable, friendly, and very customer orientated. The teak set is great. The quality of the wood is top notch and it looks beautiful. I would recommend Paradise Teak to anyone who wants a great deal on quality teak, but doesn't want to buy it off the internet (ie wants to actually touch the product). After shopping for Teak Outdoor furniture for a while now, I came across an ad on Craigslist for Paradise Teak. They advertised great prices and I had always wanted to drive over there to check out their furniture. I have been to Tom's Outdoor Furniture in Redwood City and found the dinning set that we wanted. Paradise Teak had the same style table and chairs on their website for MUCH LESS! After reading the reviews here on Yelp I placed a call. Mandy was great to talk to and I ended up placing an order over the phone for an Oval 6'-9' expanding table plus 8 chairs. Mandy gave me the 10% discount fro buying a set plus an additional 5% discount for paying in cash. Paul delivered the table and chairs the very next day, on Easter Sunday!
