We recently got burnt with our experience buying furniture with Amazon. It was such a nightmare! Damaged parts, endless communications between Amazon and the vendor, and endless coordinations for picking up for return and getting a refund... We then decided to search locally to see what's out there and we're so glad we found Chris! We browsed his website and found this piece of vanity I really like and I called Chris. It was such a breeze working with him from the beginning to the end. He does not have a shop to browse but rather once you like a piece of furniture, he'd order it for you right away and have it ready for you to take a look before you buy. That way you will be assured that the item is in a satisfying condition before you buy which is a huge advantage. The vanity we got is very high quality and in a perfect condition! Also because he does not hold inventory, we found the unit we got was manufactured in August 2018. WooHoo! It's a fresh new unit. Not something sitting in the warehouse collecting dust for years. Chris also made a delivery on the same day with a very minimal delivery charge. As far as warranty goes, if any issues, he'd come to our house and pick up the unit and do a replacement and we don't need to worry about it. Love to have that warranty because we can rest assured that we're taken care of! I called him to order the unit and made an appointment on Wednesday, we checked out the unit on Saturday and we already have it set up in our house that afternoon!!! I needed a dining table and chair. I just moved in to the area. They ha e great reviews on yelp. Yelp reviews always don't mean everything. This is not a store to begin with. One guy (Chris) selling stuff out of a storage unit in Hayward. When you drive around you cannot find the store. So I drove there and called and luckily He directed to the place in public storage. Interesting experience. He was polite and nice, seemed extremely busy as he had another person coming to look at things. Gave me little time, I looked at a table. I asked if he could deliver, he said yes, it would extra 20+ dollars. I thought, most furnitures stores will deliver for free and assemble, I ignored it and accepted and moved on. He fixed a date and time. He showed up and he dropped the box of the table. He moved it inside and I looked at his face. I had adjusted my work schedule for him to come so that I could have a table. Now what I have is a box. I asked him would you not put it together, he said that's extra. I asked how much he said 40$, I told myself wow.. Asking for money again. I told him, I need more furniture, he said I can do the assembly for free. So I started looking at the bed frames etc, but he did not have a frame I liked, I did not get much help choosing, I was busy. Then I thought ok, the box has been sitting in my living room for while, I should just have him come and assemble. I said can you come and assemble, he said it would be 20$ for me to come and $40 to come and assemble. I said wow, where is the 20$ coming from. We texted and finally I said, I need help assembling, you are asking too much, I would like to return it back to you. he said, HE WOULD NOT ACCEPT RETURN, I said to my self, what the hell? Finally I called today, I told him look, I cannot assemble, so I am going to return this back to you and ask the CC company to deny the charges. I told him, this has been sitting for a month. He said, I NEED to MAKE MONEY, While I am assembling, I could be doing SALES ... I thought, wow how about from the customer point of view. He finally agreed that he would come and do it and set for Monday morning 9 am. Then he texted, can I come now in 10 mins, I said fine. He came started the assembly, he said he is allergic to dogs, I have a puppy, I took my puppy out and waited. He did the assembly and left the entire box with the styrofoam etc on the living room. I paid him cash 40$ and asked for receipt, he said oh, I am texting you that I received $40. Is texts accepted by IRS? Wow? Now I have a huge box sitting in the floor, picked the whole thing one by one, to the dump box and back. The cost of delivery and assembly came to 40% of the product cost, storage and head ache and not having a furniture for over a month. Would I want to buy furniture again, not sure. The overall experience has been poor, thus giving 3 stars, I want to support small business but then, this has not been good. read more

On Monday we went into a local furniture store in Sacramento looking to purchase an affordable bar, but they don't have in stock. They gave us a catalog to view and we found one we liked by Coaster, but their price range was $600+. We were told that was the "online price", but that it would be cheaper and the salesperson "thought" that it would include two bar tools as well. So we considered it for a moment until we saw that there would be an additional $244 shipping charge. That is a ridiculous shipping fee. And when we questioned it, we were given the run around by the salesperson. I had just purchased a six piece sectional couch and only paid $95 shipping! This is conjecture on my part, but I assume that shipping fee was just another way to squeeze more money out of us. When we decided to leave without making the purchase, we were challenged by the salesperson to try and find the bar for cheaper without the $244 shipping. On Tuesday, the next day, I perused the local CL postings for bars and to my surprise, I found the exact same bar we liked for sale by Chris for $400 (brand new) . He was even kind enough to deliver it to to our home in West Sacramento on Thursday for a VERY affordable fee! I would definitely advise checking with Chris to see if he can get your items before shopping at other places. He has my highest recommendation! read more

The chairs we wanted were sold 2 to a box, flatpacked, and took only 10 minutes each to assemble. They're solid wood, not veneers; sturdy, and really attractive; $100 per box - $50 per chair - was less than we had seen similar chairs for anywhere, and the quality is great. After a terrible experience with Living Spaces, I was fortunate enough to find out about Chris! Something to note -- Chris does not have a showroom where you can see all of the available furniture on display; you have to look at his website and let him know ahead of time which furniture item you are interested in purchasing. When you book an appointment with him, he shows you the furniture piece and you decide whether or not to purchase. Chris is very reliable and makes furniture sales extremely simple. I was shocked at how accommodating he was! Since I do live close to one of his storage facilities, I was able to purchase a sofa hassle-free in 1-day!! What's even better was that he made the delivery right after my boyfriend and I agreed to purchase the furniture piece. The delivery itself went very smoothly, and his delivery fee is much lower than any other furniture store delivery fee I have seen!! Just know that he doesn't have a showroom at all, so the viewing you get of the piece is performed at a local storage complex.
