Giving this company 2* . The CSLB does not state if the contractor has family. It states if the license is up to date, revoked or expired. This contractor clearly stated that the license is expired, which raised my review to 2* for honesty. Under law, this contractor is only allowed to contract up to $500.00 and nothing exceeding this amount for a single job. This is not a fake review as the contractor has stated. I looked up this company pertaining to license status only after I never received a call back for an estimate. Glad I did as I would never enlist an unlicensed contractor to do this work. I look up all contractors for licensing status before I enlist them to do a job for me. I always make sure they are licensed, bonded and insured. Changing my review. Still giving 1* as I never received a call back from this company for an estimate. But, it's not up to me to inform possibly future customers of a contractor's licence. This should be done at the sole discretion of the paying customer. read more

BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT USE THIS REPEATED SCAMMER Owner Eric Rose took advantage of our family, and simply would not produce a bid or proper paperwork, even though we asked repeatedly. He took weeks and weeks to do the work, and would not return numerous calls. He never even finished the job, taking (stealing) the expensive wood we had purchased with him when he left. He lied about the transaction and lied to the courts, but the courts did side with us in the Legal case. Of course we'll never see a penny of what he owes us because he's dishonest and cheats. Eric, owner of Paragon Floors, exceeded my expectations! I was married for 20 years to a contractor in Palo Alto (Plemons Construction) who builds custom homes for Google executives and the like. So I needed quality craftsmanship. A year ago I finished building my dream home. A 2,700 square foot modern farmhouse, porch and all! Eric's artistry and expertise made my home magazine worthy! Paragon Hardwood Floors is as good as it gets. There are none better and I definitely know what I am talking about, Eric and his crews put in my Black Oak floor and did a masterful job of it. I don't know what the Christina person is talking about, maybe she is confusing Eric with who really did her floors. Paragon uses a dustless system and my home was left without wooddust when Eric and Co were done. My wife has breathing issues and Erics dustless system worked perfectly. There were no scraps laying about and Eric even disposed of the carpet that they pulled up. The work that Eric and his team has done for us is Gorgeous. They were very understanding and accommodating with our ever changing timeframe for closing our house and relocating to our new home. We trusted Eric with our home as we were out of town. He was a great communicator and kept us in the loop as the work progressed. He refinished existing flooring and installed new flooring to match with no detection of any color differences. Eric was professional and educated us on the green process he uses and the green oil and stain he uses. There is no lingering odor and we couldn't tell there was any construction when we arrived. Eric "laced in" new oak flooring into our existing 30 year old oak flooring and then scraped and oil finished the entire floor. I can not tell where the old flooring and the new flooring meet up. Besides the main floor, Eric and his team also scraped and oil finished our stairs. They did a fantastic job on everything and exceeded our expectations. Eric is not just a flooring installer, but rather a craftsman that does work like the craftsman of long ago. Eric, owner of Paragon Floors, installed a beautiful oak floor. We had a combination of old and new construction and Eric did a beautiful job of lacing in the new wood. He educated us about floor finish options and we opted for a natural oil based finish perfected in Europe. It is beautiful and nobody can detect the "old and the new". These guys were wonderful. Top rate work at a fair price. Very professional. Eric explained every step of the floor finishing process and included instructions for future care of the floors. I would use them over and over again. I almost forgot the most important feature of this process. It is dust free. They use a gasoline powered vacuum machine to collect all the dust via a hose that connects to the sanders and deposits the dust in a collector outside. It works. No dust. Eric and his cousin do great work. They cut out the edges of my existing floor and installed a border with french knots in the corners . After the rest of the floor was refinished you could not distinguish the old from the new. AMAZING!! read more
