I just wanted to take a moment to rave a little about my new favorite place: Paragon Tap and Table. Now that my family has been there a few times, I can tell you without hesitation that the food, the drinks, the atmosphere and the staff have been consistently AWESOME! My husband and son are obsessed with the short ribs and burgers, but I love to try different things every time I go, and so far: I haven't found a thing that I wouldn't order again. The Portobello Quesadilla is amazing, "Enough Said" is one of my favorites, Mussels & Frites...Not gonna lie: I get a bunch of starters "for the table," lol...because I can never decide on just one. We have passed this place numerous times in Clark NJ. We finally decided to try it out today! Here are the deets: Food - We came on a Sunday for their brunch menu. My fiancée got the Five and Dime Pizzeta: * Crispy Chicken * Fried Egg * Bacon * Cheddar Cheese * Country Gravy * Garlic Syrup. It was really yummy, but the garlic syrup is actually more like maple syrup? So we were not prepared for that as the syrup to this very savory pizza. So it threw us off a bit. But it was loaded and a perfect brunch dish! I got the NY Strip Steak with Eggs and Sausages. Perfectly cooked, eggs nice and runny. Rosemary potatoes nice and tender. Your typical yummy steak and eggs. The calamari was equally delicious!! Only thing is that it was meant to come with cherry peppers, but ours didn't. I do not give 5 stars often but this place hits all points. Point #1, clean. Point #2, Staff friendly and professional , shout out to Craig and Dane. Point #3, the food was so flavorful and cooked to perfection , kudos to the Chef and I mean Chef. I have to say we are definitely going back! Everything was delicious! We had the duck quesadillas, steak tacos, and a side of truffle fries. Loved it! Delicious! The duck quesadillas have a ghost pepper sauce which is mildly spicy. I love spicy so it was perfect, it could've been spicier but I understand some people can't take it! Went for a colleagues retirement dinner. We started happy hour n the bar and had reservations at 6:30- they moved us to our table effortlessly and brought our drinks and apps that we didn't finish along- there were 15 of us everyone's order was correct and hot to the table. I ordered online through their website my order said it would come by 655 an hour after I ordered. When I called the restaurant at 705 they didn't have any info about my order. Suddenly they found it sitting and waiting for someone to pick it up. The manager hung up on me stating they were there. I received it at 720 The presentation was less to be desired. I had to warm my food up which made my medium rare filet to medium now, after resting and reheating.The food was actually pretty good considering. On the advice of my oldest son, we decided to go and try Paragon Tap & Table. We were in the mood for burgers and beers so this place fit the bill. While the menu contains much more than burgers, we just went for burgers, wings and some craft beers. Because I was designated driver, I opted for a cup of the French onion soup, which was delicious, in lieu of beer. (Although I did taste my wife's beers). To start, we shared the Bavarian pretzels and an order of wings with whiskey chipotle sauce. The wings were amazing, cooked perfectly with a bit of a crunch and the sauce was tasty and sweet with a kick at the end. My wife and I both opted for the beer burger. They were cooked properly with mine being medium and my wife's was medium rare. Large and juicy with nice plump steak fries. Our friend went for the southwest burger. She was very satisfied with her burger. The Russian Imperial Jug handle beer was one of the best beers I have ever tasted. It was dark and had a slightly burgundy flavor. The other beer was a Pilsner with citrus notes. I forgot the name, but it was nice. Our server Dakota was pleasant and attentive, and the manager, Mike, stopped by several times and seemed to truly care about his guests. Paragon Tap does this thing where they try to do a smattering of various cuisines. Are the dishes done well? I would say that they are consistently average or slightly above in the tasty realm. Their salads are spot on and fresh, their sides, feel cooked to order and deliciously savory. I love their plaintain nachos and duck quesadilla as well the burrata salad. All of these have decent portions and use solid ingredients. I've eaten outside mostly in summer and fall with a snack of parm truffle fries or calamari. The service is kind and generally good, mostly arrives in a timely manner. Ambiance isn't anything particularly stand out or out of the ordinary. Average NJ. bar like surroundings. This is not necessarily the most flavorful or splendorous meal, but there are pleasant times with outside dining and gastropub menu. Obviously, if you're a drinker, this place is even better. I'm not, but I can enjoy a good snack in the sun. I give this place a strong 3.5 with an upvote for standard nice service. read more

This is a nice little restaurant on the corner of a building in the back of a small shopping center. I would come back and try some of their drinks. Their drinks sounded pretty good. The food was okay. The braised short ribs were good at the beginning but the salt started to become overbearing. Their fries were pretty good but their chicken sandwich left something to be desired. Been meaning to try this place for a while and finally hit it last week. I'll preface by saying I ordered to go and it's about a 20min drive to my house. I started with the Buffalo chicken dip with chips and an order of wings(half chipotle whiskey and half Buffalo). Both were good. The chips tasted fresh and the dip had good flavor. The wings were on point! Especially the chipotle whiskey. They are not huge wings but big enough to not ruin your entree. For the meal I had the Wild Boar burger with pineapple salsa and truffle fries. The burger was HUGE and flavorful. The pineapple sauce was interesting (haha) provided a different taste but it worked. My reason for only 4 stars was the fries. They were soggy and that have been be due to not eating them immediately and the drive home. I seen this place many times but never paid it any attention. I finally made reservations and tried it. When I arrived I was seated by the hostess right away. I was served by a waitress named Robin but the service was a team effort. I ordered the veggie burger with fries and a glass of wine. My friend ordered the short rib and vegetables also the shrimp appetizer. She enjoyed her food and said the meat was so tender. I enjoyed the sandwich but loved the fries. Paragon continues to be top tier and absolutely blow away me and my family. For starters, they are taking covid measures very seriously, which was great to see. You wear a mask weaving between outdoor tables and to the restroom, and all the servers wore masks as well. All of the tables were distanced from each other so you didn't have to worry about being too close to other diners either. As for the food, I was utterly obsessed with the summer Salmon and Jicama Succotash dish I ordered. It was cooked perfectly, and the corn and sprouts topping the dish provided a terrific contrast to the briny tang of the sauce. And the drinks? I think I'm going to dream of how refreshing and delicious my Pina Colada Mojito was. I'm also super impressed with their service. Our waitress Lisa was attentive, polite, and as personable as someone can be from behind a mask! The man who seemed to be the manager stopped by our table too to see how we were getting on and then, when he saw we had their yummy Voodoo Wings on the table, he went to the trouble of grabbing more napkins and hand wipes himself and bringing them back to the table. From now on too, I'm going to look for nights when Paragon has Nick Keena returning as their music performer. His song choice was immaculate, and his personality was off-the-charts fun as heck, as evidenced by his commentary between folk rock performances, scatting ability, and tip jar which read "Tip/Bail". We have a choice of outdoor or indoor dining. They are great at keeping tables 6ft or more apart. Service is great. We have been here twice. First time I ordered the Southwest Burger with fries! It was amazing. We had tiramisu for dessert delicious! My husband ordered a burger I just don't remember which one. Second time my husband ordered the Stout Burger and I the Crispy chicken sandwich both with fries. Again, delicious! For dessert my husband ordered the caramel cheesecake and I the carrot cake. Service: The restaurant during that hour of lunch was rather empty save for 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. The service was quick because it was not busy at the time, but the service from my particular sever was not the best, despite that. My order was inaccurately taken, and the server was not knowledgeable about the menu items. Server was shown a recent photo from Yelp asking if that menu item was available, was told that it was not available, then somehow find it on the menu, so pointed to it, ordered it, then ended up receiving a completely different dish. However, the server was notified and did remedy the situation by promptly returning the dish back and bringing out the correct dish. For another dish ordered, the fish tacos received were baked rather than battered as requested, which was fine, so did not bother the server to change the order for that. Food: Food turned out to be average. Originally came here based on the interesting menu items seen on Yelp photos, offerings which are no longer available, which happens, as menus change. They are currently restructuring their menu, so a couple of menu items are stamped with "kicked" and a lot of interesting items that first attracted me to coming here are now off the menu, sadly. Perhaps future menu offerings may be more unique and better-tasting. read more

What a great find! The beer selection is diverse- cans and drafts. I had a great wild boar burger and two wonderful local beers recommended by the lovely Kate. A decent selection of draft beer was available and my wife's cocktails were very good. We ordered Santa Fe chicken salad to split for starters. The salad, even when split was very large. I really expected more out of it in every sense, but the food ranged from eh okay to just not good. The only thing we mildly enjoyed was the French onion soup which took way too long to come out. My boyfriend got the wings and he was really unsatisfied. They were noticeably overcooked/burnt and dry. The breakfast tacos were okay but really bland, like something you can whip up in a couple minutes at home. The avocado filet was really disappointing. We've been frequenting this spot for years now, with its close proximity to Clark, Westfield, and belligerent yellow-brick-road that is The Garden State Parkway. Their service has always been really good, but for better or worse, they changed some items on the menu the past couple years. Be sure to check out the daily specials. The food menu has elevated pub food such as short rib pappardelle, truffle fries, spicy poke tuna, and meat and cheese boards. They have a lot of craft beers on tap and a large selection of wines and cocktails. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. I ordered the turkey burger with pear slaw, fried carrot threads, and romaine. It was a very juicy, flavorful and one of a kind turkey burger. My friend was not as impressed with her crispy chicken sandwich - the chicken was very thin and over breaded. Came here for a team lunch and it did not disappoint. We were a big group of 11, but surprisingly there were a lot of big groups during lunch. Perhaps it's because of the holiday season. Would highly recommend the appetizers - the portions are pretty big so you can share. We had the steak nachos (a bit spicy with jalapenos), the pretzel, margarhita flatbread, and truffle fries with aioli. They do a superb job with the truffle fries - perfectly crispy! For an entree I had the short rib - which was oh so tender! It came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. My coworkers enjoyed the gnocchi and scallops (note this was a huge portion!)) as well as the pappardalle with short rib (also a humongous portion of pasta and shortrib). Honestly though, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Paragon also has an extensive beer, wine and cocktail list. We started off with an Italian flatbread pizza which was topped with tomatoes, mozz and pesto. For my main I ordered short rib pasta which came with several tender pieces of short rib, tomato sauce and portobello mushrooms served over pappardelle pasta. I also tried some of my mom's mac and cheese and it was really tasty! Dessert was fantastic - chocolate peanut butter cake and a mini pumpkin pie with toasted marshmallow and ice cream... yum.
