He was amazing above and beyond…read more When this location did not have a dog whistle, he called the Santa Maria location and then went so far as to call Pet Smart the competition amd finally Lemos in Lompoc who had them. He took the time to help me find what I needed for my science lesson even though it meant sending me elsewhere when he realized the day of the project was too soon to order it. Ten stars, good man!     Absolutely unacceptable experience at the Petco in Lompoc, CA…read more I was in the store with my family, including my 7-year-old daughter, to purchase a teddy bear hamster and a temporary cage. While an employee was retrieving the hamster, the General Manager approached us aggressively, raised his voice, and began scolding us about the cage, claiming a previous hamster had gotten ringworm from it. I tried to calmly explain that the cage was temporary and that we had done our research, but he would not let me speak, repeatedly talked over me, and belittled me in front of my child. His behavior was hostile, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. He then told us that if the hamster got sick, we should "not come back" because he would refuse to replace it, which felt threatening rather than helpful. Most alarming, his speech appeared slurred, and there was a strong smell of alcohol. Regardless of the cause, his conduct was inappropriate and concerning, especially from someone in a management role. What should have been a happy experience for our daughter was completely ruined. No customer -- especially a family with a child -- should be treated this way. Corporate should seriously look into the management at this location.

My reviews, recommendations and comments about how the company in general can improve customer volume was done all the way back on 2/27/2025 from the times of 7:00p.m. - 8:30p.m. through the zoom platform. Even though this was a late time frame during business hours, I still kept my end of the deal and attended the Zoom meeting to help improve the Farm Supply Company from a potential customers standpoint. I did rate the company honestly and gave feedback as to how Farm Supply can improve customer acquisition. The WARNING to potential customers is to be Very WEARY and CAUTIOUS about the Farm Supply Company in general! I say this because The Farm Supply Company has not paid me until now 4/21/2025! I want to reiterate that I did the survey meeting with a representative of the Farm Supply Company way back in 2/27/2025! The third party agency that connected me to rate the Farm Supply has made multiple attempts to have the company pay me a small incentive for my time doing the Zoom survey. The company has repeatedly made several excuses as to why the payment had NOT come through, with all the excuses finally running out! If the Farm Supply Company can do this to me, I want to alert potential customers of the way they conduct business. If purchasing something from that store PLEASE be Extremely Weary of their return policy, and how they may potentially come up with several excuses as to why they cannot accept the return. They also do a lot of overcharging of their merchandise to an exorbitant amount compared to their other competitors like The Home Depot, Lowe's Home Improvement and Ace Home and Garden. I want to give my suggestion of being WEARY and CAUTIOUS of potentially shopping their because I would not like to see potential customers being taken advantage of like the way they did to me for giving my honest and constructive criticism.     I just love(d) Birds and B's, nothing but positivity and delight when visiting there…read more 10 years ago I adopted a double yellow, headed Amazon. She is the light of our lives, and Kim at Birds And B's has taken care of her since the day we brought her home. She offered sincere care, concern and incredible knowledge about the Amazon Parrot. Echo is now 10 years old, and as I do, every month or two, went to retrieve my supplies, that were needed for her. To my surprise, the business had been sold. Not a problem as I introduced myself to the new owner, and carried on with my purchases. I have to say, I have continued to shop here, as the quality of merchandise had always been the same, and I expected nothing less. I was wrong, unfortunately, and I've decided to take my business elsewhere, at this point. This was not an easy decision as I love the "Mom and Pop" vibe, and I'm MORE than happy to keep these types of businesses alive, and support them, in my hometown of Ventura. I tried my best, with the new owner, even had Echo groomed there two times, even though I never felt like a valued customer. In fact, I felt like she didn't even like me, which is crazy. I would come in, say hi with a smile, and was treated with just a stare. 7 out of 7 times, I would stand in line for SEVERAL and i mean 10's of minutes, while she talked with ONE person. Did not know who that person was, It seemed, she would make up conversations just to not engage with me. I would always buy toys, food, even want to ask about new products, but she was completely uninterested. I consistently gave her the benefit of the doubt, but finally realized it wasn't me and there was nothing I could do about it. The last visit I made, I walked in, and surprisingly saw a familiar face, an old employee that had worked there prior, to the new owner. It was literally the best visit I had had, and I made that my last as I saw the attention that the old employee gave immediately, and knew then, i would not be returning. I gave it one last attempt, and I called in for a grooming appointment; early by my standards, which surprised me because I had JUST been in there, but realized I don't think her nails were even addressed [trimmed] on that final grooming. That was the final straw. Wish me luck, as I know the care for exotic birds are limited, locally, when it comes to GOOD care, but I just won't take the chance anymore. Simply said; I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. As you can see, i PREVIOUSLY, HIGHLY recommended it I'm being very nice by giving that extra star, as I don't want my review to be questioned at all. This is 100% fact and I have given her more than ample opportunity, even questioning myself ‍ Ugh, so excited to MOVE ON
