It's been a few years since I have been in a Dental Office, I know what your thinking.... its ok! Walking in, I was greeted very warmly as I walked into the main waiting room. The staff were very nice and the front area was very clean and inviting! I have been to this location twice, having being seen early both times. They were very efficient in processing my paperwork and insurance information. My initial check up/x-rays was quick and easy! I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I spoke with both Dr. Alvarez and his assistant. Both were very accommodating and detailed. My second visit was for my cleaning. Can I just say that I have been to many offices and have had my teeth cleaned many times. This was without a doubt, the best experience I have ever had. He slammed the crown with a post in at an angle. Before I left the office I let them know the pain I was now in. They said he did this on purpose. Well this didn't keep the crown in because the pain I was in was because he cracked my root when he put it in with force at an angle.. Now my tooth and crown were destroyed. The tooth/root had to be removed. When now needing an implant while shopping around, his price was very high and not willing to accept any blame or lower his high price for an implant. I wasn't aware by not doing this right away would cause so much bone loss. I was never informed. Also, I paid for a partial bridge through him. From day one I had open sores, blisers/pain from this partial ordered through him. On the 4th visit to him with open sores from this partial ordered through his office I got told "I'm getting tired of this, this is your 4th visit for the same thing". This guy does not give a crap about you, only your money. Save it and go where they actually care. This practice caused me a lot more money and wasted money and thats not how it should be. PS It should be known that after I lost the front tooth due to his jamming the post/crown in crooked, I asked about a discount to get an implant and was denied any implant discount even though I would not have needed one if he hadn't forced my crown/post in sideways which ultimately cracked my root.

The staff took time to give me a detailed home plan and gave me a kit with antibiotic mouthwash, prescriptions, and follow up. I was impressed by their modern array of up to date diagnostics like the dental CT scan. The bone graft they placed has healed completely on follow up x-ray. This is high quality, expert, friendly, and a caring specialty dental practice I recommend.

The dentist recommended that I get a crown on a tooth that was otherwise healthy, simply because the tooth was not straight. I trusted the recommendation and proceeded with the crown. Unfortunately, the crown was not installed properly. Afterward, I developed ongoing sensitivity to hot and cold. I returned to the office and was told that the sensitivity was normal. However, it never went away. Eventually, bacteria entered underneath the crown, causing decay and an infection. I was then told that I needed a root canal. The root canal experience was a nightmare. This was my first root canal, so I didn't know what to expect. Local anesthesia was used, but I remained uncomfortable and in pain during the procedure and required several additional rounds of anesthesia. I was in the chair for hours. After that experience, I decided to change dentists. My new dentist took X-rays again and discovered two additional teeth that needed root canals, issues that the previous dental office had apparently overlooked. My new dentist referred me to a root canal specialist at a completely different office. The experience there was completely different. The second root canal took approximately one hour. The doctor explained every step of the procedure, used one round of anesthesia, and I experienced no pain and was completely comfortable throughout the treatment. That experience restored my trust in dentists. It showed me that a root canal does not have to be a painful or frightening experience when it is properly diagnosed and performed by an experienced specialist. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this dental office. I strongly encourage patients to get a second opinion before agreeing to major dental work, especially when the tooth is otherwise healthy.
