The dentist said a hard one would be best so my teeth don't move since I wouldn't be able to wear a retainer with it. I paid for it. He said it was risk free bc if I didn't like it I could try something else. Well, it was extremely painful. I thought maybe I just needed to get used to it. I couldn't sleep bc it hurt so bad. I tried wearing it for an hour during the day and over time I got acclimated but then had insane rebound pain when I took it off. I went back to complain and the dentist said there's no way they made any mistakes with it and it must be my fault. Maybe my teeth moved because my retainer isn't in good condition. I asked if my teeth could really move that much in 2 weeks. He admitted that no, they couldn't. He seemed upset but finally allowed me to get a soft night guard. Turns out in my sleep I think a soft night guard is chewing gum! I woke up so sore I couldn't eat solid food that day. Did I go back and tell them? Heck no! I don't need to not be believed another time. Good for them, they got to keep my money. Definitely never going back.

Nice office with ample parking out back. The staff were behind a plastic screen and social distancing was enforced in the waiting room. They had an iPad for me to fill out the new patient forms and then I was off to the races. Gloves and masks were all in effect due to the pandemic and assuring public safety. My dental hygienist was super friendly and took me back right away. They had plenty of chairs at the location. This was one of the best teeth cleaning I have had EVER. She made sure and clean my teeth the way she would want hers cleaned. She also communicated as went with what she found. It was good to hear things like there was little to no plaque buildup, and just finishing up a couple of spots, etc.. Usually you just sit there and wait for it to be over. I enjoyed the updates of how things were and what she was seeing. ** Another plus. The doctor noticed in his practice that there was a need to capture airborne particles as they were cleaning. Most dentist the airborne particles splatter and go everywhere, your face, your glasses, on the hygienist, etc.. Because of this need the doctor created a device to hold a funnel on the vacuum to catch all those particles in the air. This allowed the hygienist to focus on the cleaning and not making a mess. The doctor had created it from PVC and it was light weight. It worked as intended. He could probably make a more refined solution and patent it. This is thinking outside of the box to make the patient more comfortable. Genius. Need more doctors that think like this. Front staff were super accommodating in scheduling and even made recommendations for things to consider. This was key as I realized that they were knowledgeable and not just there for clerical activities. It's not often you find a dental practice that is solid from front office to the back, but Draper Parkway Dental has figured out the formula for success and it has served them well over the years apparently. Give them a try and see for yourself.

They know me by my first name and are always willing to go above and beyond. The dentil hygienists are extremely thorough with there cleanings as well as there gum and cancer screenings. They also make my time spent there comfortable and worth it. I always get called back to the dentist chair almost immediately when I arrive. Last but not least Dr. Rubisch himself has always been right on Que. whether to check the status of my teeth (and fillings) or while doing more serious dental work like fillings etc. This whole office deserves 5 stars. During our conversation, I explained that I was open to temporarily assisting your office as a dental assistant on a day when coverage was needed. I was transparent that this would require an hour commute on my part, and for that reason, I inquired whether compensation above the advertised rate would be possible. Madison informed me that compensation decisions were not within her control and that the dentists were firm on the stated rate. I understood this response and, as no agreement or confirmation to work was made, I did not proceed further. Subsequently, I received a message from Madison that I felt was unprofessional and unnecessarily discourteous, particularly given that no commitment had been made on either side. Being characterized as unprofessional under these circumstances was unexpected and disappointing. Additionally, I was later removed from the Utah Dental Networking page, which I believe may be related to this interaction. If so, I feel this action was unwarranted and unprofessional. Getting kicked out of this group prevents me from finding any temp jobs in the future. I value respectful and professional communication within the dental community and felt it was important to share my experience. My intention is not to escalate conflict, but to bring awareness to how this interaction was handled. My work ethic and references speak for themselves. I regularly find temps for my office and I would've never of handled it this way.

Maybe it was because it was my first time, but I've never had this kind of greeting as my first time patient anywhere in many cities and dentists that I've had. The front office staff greeted me with excitement and a smile and a welcome gift. (not the usual "here's your paperwork and sign it please). Gave me a tour of the office, introduced me to everyone, and even had a disposable toothbrush for me to use as I had just ate some cashews before arriving. The office is emaculate. The equipment is high end top of the line dental equipment (I've been to some that didn't have it), and they even had glasses to put on me so the splash of the cleaning didn't go all over, not that it mattered, since they didn't even splash and were careful and courteous in my cleaning. McKenna even took the time to explain every step of what she was doing and educate me on the process. (Even though I already knew it). Dr. Lucero was very warm, and direct in his knowledge. He speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and English fluently. I was very impressed. Will highly recommend this dentist office. P.S. As a suggestion for the office: My past dentist would include a goody bag with chapstick, a toothbrush and dental floss after each cleaning visit.
