Having been in Sanford for a little over two years now, I had heard about Paras Pizza, but had never made it a point to check it out until recently, and I am so glad I did. For starters, this is an old school pizza establishment with there only being a take-out option, and they only accept cash. Upon walking in, there is nothing glitzy about the establishment, other than the large-scale ovens and the antique cash register that they use. It is clear that their complete focus is on creating good pizza. The pizza that Paras provides is individual 12-inch pizzas. They have a variety of topping options, and the crust is always perfectly golden. Having been a handful of times, the cook on the pizza is always consistent and perfect. Another added bonus is that when you call in an order, they are easily accessible, even when it is extremely busy. Overall, Paras is a great pizza option in the Sanford area. I am fairly new to the area but I have driven by Paras Pizza numerous times, oddly enough, on my way to and from going to get pizza from Sanford house of Pizza. I had read the Yelp reviews, I figured I would give it a try. The menu is simple. Pizza with various toppings as you would expect. They also offer two styles of Italian grinders ham or salami. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, all the pizzas are one size, and a salami Italian. Both were fresh and delicious. The sandwich was not overloaded. Which initially disappointed me, however, it turned out to be just right. You can get more meat for a small fee. Paras only takes cash, but you won't need much. My whole order was $16 read more

I'm not sure if it's because of the hand sliced ham, pepperoni and salami that gives it that retro feeling. Or the overall atmosphere and decor when you walk in. The metal pans stacked and lined up for a busy weekend business, the vintage cash register and the hand written food slips. I'm a modern girl through and through, but the no frills, hand sliced meat and made to order pizzas get me. True, the house pizza can be a bit soggy because it is overloaded with toppings, but that's a give I'm okay with because the salty ham, pepperoni and lots of salami rub me in all the right ways. My soft spot for Greek style pizza keeps me here, the old school feel and low low prices brings me back time and again. read more

Business is heavily run by locals and word of mouth. Offer a few varieties of canned sodas. With toppings such as: Kielbasa sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, peppers, pineapple, ham, onions, olives, etc. just the standard pizza toppings. Crispy crust, small quantity, and great quality...can't beat it. Also, genuine service. A few small tables here to eat, but business is run mainly for take-out. George (the owner) has been making pizzas in Sanford for the better part of 50 years. My parents used to get pizza from Paras when they were in high school.
